I have two robots that clean my house every other day and I have a Henry upstairs and an iRobot upstairs and downstairs I have an iRobot plus a Sebo canister. Maintenance is extremely important 🙂 and every two weeks I check to make sure that the cleaning brushes, the vacuum intake, and any debris that has stuck to the wheels is removed using the Henry canister and the Sebo canister of which both have anti-allergen HEPA filters. My vacuums that are robots have continued to work without breakdown for the past 10 plus years. I was concerned that you waited until 40 days before a maintenance clean up but if you had pets as I've seen other videos your robot would be plugged and 1 to 2 days based on what I've seen. Your video was excellent advice and that machine sells for over $1,000 which is not cheap. My home has 8x10 rugs and hardwood floors Plus ceramic tile and I'm not sure if this robot can handle the rugs at this time and stay off of the rugs unless this robot can have the circular mops set aside or the robot can be programmed to execute a dry run and then perform a wet run. ???
Always glad to read comments like this. I made this video because i often hear people complain about robots (stick vacuums and so on ...) that something is not working as intended. People don't realize how maintenance is important with this kind of product. It regular maintenance is prolonged too much some kind of hardware damage is assured ...
@@donmarkon I agree with you 100%. Having been born on the ranch in the Central valley of California I learned at age 5 to age 6 that maintaining equipment prolonged the life of that equipment and a robot is a small machine that has circuit boards, moving parts, and fixed parts that must be cleaned, dried, lubricated for long-term use. My grandfather gave his grandfather clock to my father and one day my brother and I took it all apart and then reassembled it. When we were done we found that one part was sitting on the floor and the grandfather clock could not run without that part because it was a clock and a clock needed the spring to tell time. Years later, I knew that I could never tell that story to my parents because we would face a certain consequence that was unacceptable to our existence. However, when I had to repair the Ford tractor I knew that it was extremely important to keep a count of the parts, make sure the parts were clean and functional and well lubricated prior to reassembling the tractor. The robot that you demonstrated is an early model and I must say will be improved in the next two or three years making it better and easier to maintain because any machine is only as good as its weakest parts which will need to be redesigned. You definitely brought the maintenance of this machine to the forefront which I think is extremely important for anyone that purchases a machine that is going to be used three or four times a week. I only amazement in this video was the number of days, 40 if I recall what you said, as being excessive before cleaning. To Hoover is to vacuum. Anyone that vacuums or Hoovers their home first will have a better experience with a mopping robot vacuum. Thank you for sharing as I have made a determination to acquire one of these when they can go out and vacuum first, return to the doc and empty the bin followed by mopping and staying away from rugs and carpets which I believe will happen in the next one to two years.
I was reading your post with smile on my face. It really touched me as i have many experiences with my father he was disciplined and he educated me to maintain things and we both were always "do it yourself" . Sadly he died on November 19 2021 due to covid, he was completely healthy man. These days always when i get something to make or fix i deeply miss that part where i would make a picture of my work and send it to him... It was our tradition Regarding Roidmi Eva, indeed i hope that in next version they will implement rise mops or something like that so it can vacuum without removing mops
@@donmarkon I drove a 40-year-old Ford pickup truck to an area just north of Mexico City and the reason it is still working for the folks down in Mexico way is basic maintenance. People think that Japan, Korea, Germany make better vehicles but the United States makes excellent machines that can last almost a lifetime if folks would simply learn to maintain and replace any weak or worn out parts. I have allergies and I Mark the calendar so I do not forget to replace the HEPA filters and on a regular basis I use a half a vacuum to clean the sensors and the pre filters plus my vacuums have pre filters for the motors that are HEPA and they also need maintenance. I have drip irrigation on the property of 3 and 1/2 acres and all sprinkler heads and emitters need cleaning and inspection as insects, debris, animals at night which I should have said nocturnal animals mess with the emitters and the lines. We also have pocket gophers and they mess with the valves. Regular maintenance is the key to a better experience in a longer life of machines. Many people forget that humans are machines and need to visit their dentist twice a year for prophylaxis and as we age an annual visit to see our doctor and every two years to see our optometrist or ophthalmologist. 🙂
@@donmarkon I was so sorry to hear about your father. No matter how old you are, when your parents are gone, you feel like an orphan. You miss those daily interactions, as when you sent him pictures of your work. I just purchased a different brand of robot vac/mop, but enjoyed and appreciated your presentation. These units are packed with so much technology, and they are all expensive. It's smart to perform regular preventive maintenance on them and your presentation showed how bad things can get if you ignore it.
well maybe someday if roidmi is available for purchase in the USA I can try it out myself. Anymore companies don't follow up with product availability.
I ordered mine from China so i know what you mean. I think majority of self cleaning robots do self cleaning well, but maintenance and longevity can be in question for some of them
Im looking for this Robot. Is it still functioning now? And how smell it's when i saw the base seem very very dirty. Thanks a lot, im looking this kind of video long time ago
Yep working perfectly in my grandparents house. There is no bad smells as there is ventilator to dry it out If you clean base every 2 weeks there would be less build ups. I did this extreme example, it has been working just fine even after 40 days
how hard is it to reprogram a robot to a new home? for i am thinking of buying one , but at the same time i am getting ready to buy a new home within or about a year. Where i get it now and use it i will have to reprogram it
They should provide a function button in app to do this part of cleaning as well. Clean Water out, Manual scrub, suck dirty water into dirty tank. Clean water out, manual scrub, suck dirty water into dirty tank. Done…
I think that for that completely different design is needed at bottom. And it would probably need waste amount of water... For me this how it is not a big problem... water and sponge done! What i really hate is to refill tank with clean water :D
Tell or show me a machine that does not require maintenance. Machines that work in a dirty environment and clean, those are the ones that require the most maintenance. Only in science fiction movies do machines run forever...good morning...
Thank you for a great review of 40 day device maintenance. I may just buy one of these robots.
Glad it was helpful!

Great review! Can this run over carpets with Mop pads attached, but Mopping turned "OFF" ?
Is it possible to put floor cleaning solution in the fresh water tank?
Yes you can, but dont use too high concentration. Also pick solution which doesn't bobble a lot
Hi! Some questions, how often did you have it run? And how big is the spacing it was working on? Thank you!
Q: which one do u like best the Roidmi or the Yeedi

It is simple procedure
Few clicks and first run it records new map and you are done
Javi ako planiraš nabaviti neki drugi model i prodati ovaj!

Yeedi mop station has one , after seeing all this reviews i am starting to appreciate it even though navigation is really bad
nice and practical content. can i know how big area the vacuum cleaning?
around 25 square meters
Still running well..any issues?
Yeah still rocking good
Do you know how to fix an "offline" issue?
Try to restart router
ROIDMI EVA is poorly designed. Its not a robot as you have to watch it constantly to attend to all the combination of errors.
