Sound was very good and review was super helpful and honest. Video length was good to. Thanks for sharing your thoughts I got lucky and got these 2 Cask Strength bottlings as well as the regular 12 year. I hope to pull the same notes. Cheers
Ahh this is a new channel. Ok I’m gonna subscribe. Good luck. I have both of these in the house. Only had one dram out of the 2022 so it’s only been the ‘neck pour’ if you are familiar with that term. So it’s hard to tell whether I’ll prefer it to the 2021 version just yet. Edit: I see you asked for constructive advice…I’d advise buying the book ‘So you want to be a UA-camr?’ by Silentc0re. I had a UA-cam channel for a good while. Was pretty successful too. That book lays out how to maximise the algorithm as it exists today. I fully recommend it. One of the things you could do right away is use the hashtags to encourage the search engine to attach search stings pointing to your channel (don’t use more than 15 though because the algorithm will then just ignore all of them for some reason).
Keep at it bud. I’ve always felt doing weekly reviews would be overwhelming. Too many bottles, too much money, too many whisky tubers. That said, you can find your niche in by doing videos bi-monthly or monthly reviews like say, Jason Debly. Or you can go the sample size route instead of buying the full bottles. Anyhow I gladly subbed. As far as the Bunna CS is concerned, I had the option to pick up both 2021 and the 22. Based solely on the overwhelming votes going towards the 2022 version despite lauding the 21 version . I decided to buy two of the 2022. That blew my budget for months. I’m on a tight budget this year. So had to pick carefully. I love the bunnahabhain profile. I have a couple of the Moine 2008 Bordeaux stashed as well as an 18 yr old. Great review. Looking for more.
Cheers pal. Appreciate the support. There was a lot of mixed feedback for the 2021 Bunna CS, but I really don’t get it. I thought it was fantastic and very much in keeping with the standard distillery character. The 2022 is a different beast, like I say. Hope you enjoy it.
Great to learn something new about cask whisky @whiskyloft! Normally, the only 'punch on the nose' I get from whisky is a literal one...down Pop World on a Friday night. What's the next scotch in the pipeline? I will raise a glass to all whisky lofters this Christmas!
Liked, Subscribed, and delighted with your summation of these 2 drams, as I am sure Julieann will be too! Nothing much that I would contradict in your comments either! 😁 Both offerings are essentially 100% Oloroso Casks, but safe to say 2022 obviously were more active and intense! Couple of things,…. on online Tastings I regularly mention getting Chocolate Orange/Seville Orange Marmalade flavours, particularly with our 18yo (which is also all Oloroso these days). 😁👍🥃👊 Last thing, you’ve got The Whisky Loft, my pals have “The Attic - All Islay Whisky” 😂😂😂
Cheers Dave. Glad you enjoyed the video. They’re absolutely brilliant drams. I know this year’s has been getting a lot of love, but I really enjoyed the 2021 edition too, interesting that they both effectively had the same maturation.
These cask strength Bunnahabhains are certainly very well regarded. Have you tried Ardnamurchan? I wanted to see what all the fuss was about and it is indeed fantastic whisky. I can also recommend the Wormtub 10yo Cask Strength Speyside which I believe is very likely to be Mortlach.
I have tried the Ardnamurchan CS, and really enjoyed it. I enjoy a lot of their stuff at the moment. I recommend Adelphi's Ardnagherkin if you can find it for a very different experience (maybe don't buy a bottle). I've not tries the Wormtub yet, but it has come up in a few places so am keen to see if it lives up to some high praise. I am also interested to know that it is Mortlach because a quick Google didn't reveal that, so thanks!

Great review! I secured 6 bottles of the 22 edition, will open one and keep 5, well hopefully...! Subscribed!
I give it 5 months until you're down to your last one. Enjoy them though, it's fantastic stuff.

Thanks. Very helpful. I will look out for that book. Enjoy the Bunna. It's a cracker. I don't want to work through it too quickly.
