Jesus established one church but people divided, and who did has sinned already. When Jesus will return for his church will be one bride not two. The church of Christ cannot be divided. I am using my daughters account sorry.I am Orthodox and a Reader in the OCA. I was raised and left the Latin rite, I needed more spiritaul disipline and orthodoxy was that piece of Christ's puzzle that I needed. I believe we have more ancient traditions that we keep and preserve where the west does not. But we as Orthodox must realize that it was the Emperor who made both Patriarchs of both Rome's Old and New drift apart. I believe someday we may reunite but for now let us do as Christ would have, and that is love each other. Because when we stand before him at that terrible judgement seat and our records ore revealed to us he will judge us and tells us all our faults.
BEAUTIFUL prayers... That's how it should be, chanting in the original format of Byzantine in Greek, Aramaic, Syriac and Arabic, the original languages of this region...
I pray with depths of my soul that one day we re-unite. One of the greatest tragedies of this world is the division of the Roman and Orthodox Churches. Christ's body should not be divided as His garments were at Golgotha!
Christ is not divided. "I believe in One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church." It is absolute heresy to say that He is divided. The Orthodox Church is His body and can never be divided.
I'm from Turkey but i think Byzantine Empire was the best empire in history, bad things happened but you must understand we had to find home to ourselves in those dark warmongering ages, only option was to fight, sorry this happened. But know this We Turks love you Orthodoxes more than anyone,we still have your churches across Turkey,we value your religion.
Yigithan İnanmış Jesus himself, even in his obscurity, dreaded the gathering of crowds, and where possible avoided them. Everything in Christianity that matters is from individual to individual; collectivities belong to the Devil, and so easily respond to his persuasion. The Devil is a demagogue and sloganeer; Jesus was, and is, concerned with individual souls, with the Living Word. What he gives us is truth carried on the wings of love, not slogans carried on the thrust of power. The risen Christ came to save Jew and Greek, Greek and Turk. Mesih dirildi! Hakikaten dirildi! ua-cam.com/video/A0iDNLxmWVM/v-deo.html
Remember, you don't have to join every fight that you are invited to. No discussion about right and wrong worship is going to bring you closer if you are engaged in the meaning of this prayer.
I'm an atheist and I highly approve this message. Fighting only creates more conflict, leading fewer opportunities for peace. Let's just enjoy this beautiful music
I totally agree.i am greek orthodox christian.baptize in saint stephanos church.i have roman catholic friends.so the fighting needs to stop.our lord jesus would not be happy with it.and the armenian monks greek monks need to stop the fighting.

arabic words only and they change nor add nothing, this is a pure byzantine chant, you can put words from any language in it, but it ain't going to change the soul of the chant, because it was and will always remain a pure byzantine Greek hymn ;)
Brothers and Sisters in Christ, lets not fight for anything or anybody. We shall invite all people to listen and accept such divine music. These are not made by men but implanted into men by angels high above through Holy Ghost. Let's not stop or comment or fight with anybody even if they do or contain porn. We SHALL NOT BE STAINED nor will our Christ, then what if we could save their soul by accepting them ! That's what God intends and had come to earth for- to save all+
Inspired by God the Father, through his Son, Jesus Christ, in his Holy Spirit, who is in the men, whom you hear, in this chant, and, in whom, they are in. Amen.
I'm not saying this to be hateful, I swear. I think this in mostly greek but sometimes arabic. I speak arabic fluently, and at 3:34 after the chorus I can understand maybe 90% of the words (i'm not perfectly fluent though) They are talking about ascension of the soul.
Themostamazinguy Hmmm, I don't think so. I hear those verses in Arabic on Holy Friday and we speak Arabic (Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch). Coptic is, as I've been told, quite different from Arabic, so if you could understand it, and assuming you don't understand Coptic, then there's a good chance that it's not Coptic.
Themostamazinguy Yeah, I'm not sure what Coptic sounds like. I've only ever heard it once from a friend's voice mail. It very well could be close to Arabic. But to the original point, I'm pretty confident that it's Arabic. Just out of curiosity, is the Arabic that you speak Egyptian Arabic? I'd be guessing but that might be close in accent to Coptic, not too sure though.
"I believe in one Holy Catholic Church" I am an Orthodox Christian. The word has Greek roots. I would agree that its' use by the Roman Church when defined as meaning "universal" is a misinterpretation, for if this definition were real would'nt they have preferred the Latin Universalis (Universal)? There exist faults in both east and west. It is my hope that these schisms can be resolved with the new Roman Pontiff and that our Patriarch can achieve reunion. May the peace of the Lord be with you
+NeoNika blogger a chant is a mixture of words and music. it is a song, but of a special type. music made by instruments or by human voice. To the person singing it with belief, it is a prayer. To other people not concerned by this belief, it is a song
no it is not a mix, it is a pure byzantine chant, it is an eastern Greek heritage, when we say Greek we mean ethnic Greeks and not limited to those living in Greece... you can introduce words from any language to this chant, but that will not change the chant, its a divine byzantine hymn.
It is mostly Greek but there is a bit of Arabic interspersed at various intervals. Amazingly beautiful touching the depth of my soul and invoking endless memories of Holy Easters in my beautiful Lebanon.
First christian chants in the world were Armenian. Make clear the path of the Lord he returns with full might. Glory to the father and praise him for our brothers singing here and around the world.
Forgive the ignorance of my following questions dear ones. I am a traditional Roman Catholic who absolutely loves the Divine Liturgy. I live in East Central PA, so am blessed to live near many Eastern Catholic churches. I frequently attend both Ukrainian and Ruthenian Liturgies. I have noticed some differences. Can anyone explain them to me? For instance, more kneeling in the Ukrainian church (virtually none in the Ruthenian). Praying the Holy Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy also seem more common in the Ukrainian churches. (Again, this is simply my observation). I understand that the Ukrainian church came to union with Rome before the Ruthenians. I would never use the word "better", but is one Liturgy more traditional than the other? Or perhaps the differences I am seeing are matters of individual parishes? Thank you and may God bless you all my brothers and sisters in Christ.
yes I am confident that all true followers of Christ, regardless of denomination, creed, nationality, race, or any other division we have ourselves conceived, will be united together in Christ in the glory of Heaven. I do not think it is good for God's children to attack each other. Let us love one another, as Christ has commanded us.
CBullion005, as far as I'm aware the Pater himon is not chanted in byzantine tradition, only recited. As for the original text in Koine, you can look up the article for "Pater noster" in Wikipedia.
this is why it is called a religion , it is faith you believe something so strong without having any proof blind faith true faith ... christian and other people that believe into the existance of god still believe in science , but think of this humanity has a limit when we discovere something something else will appear until we reach a limit here is god here is the undiscovered the uneplained the undefined here is something bigger that humanity ... thnx a science and believer of god
Very nicely done. Where was this recorded? This service in which these hyms are chanted is the Matins of Great and Holy Saturday. It is anticipated on Friday night. KwnF
Taking into concideration the clothes you described, he ust've appeared to them after the resurection. The only other place where Jesus is described in such a manner is during his transfiguration...
@@adrianbarbacena6853 I n the tomb they laid you, you, O Christ, who are Life; in amazement angel armies lift up their song as they glorify your self-abasement, Lord. Now we magnify you, O Lord Jesus, our King, we pay honour to your Passion and burial for from foul corruption you saved us through them. Fairer he in beauty than are all mortal kind, now a corpse we see, unsightly, bereft of form, he who beautified the nature of all things. Bitterly lamenting, ‘Woe is me, O my light! my heart’s longing and the Light of the World, alas! Woe is me, my heart’s desire’, the Virgin cried. Lord, your pains I worship, and your burial praise, and I magnify your might, Lover of mankind. By them I am freed from passions which destroy. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Word, we sing your praises, as the Lord God of all, with the Father and your most Holy Spirit, Lord, and we glorify your burial divine. Both now and forever and unto the ages of ages. Amen. Now we call you blessed, All-Pure Mother of God, and in faith we hold in honour and venerate the three day entombment of your Son our God. I t is right indeed we should magnify the one who grants life, you, that stretched your hands wide upon the Cross, broke and smashed the might and power of the foe. All Earth quaked in fear and the sun concealed itself, O Saviour, when, O Christ, our light, you set bodily, as the light that knows no evening was entombed. Like the pelican, you gave life, O Word, to your dead children, wounded in your side, you let life-blood flow, letting fall life-giving drops of blood on all. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Great eternal God, co-eternal Word and Holy Spirit, look down in your goodness on those who rule, grant their sceptres strength against the warlike foe. Both now and forever and unto the ages of ages. Amen. Wholly undefiled, Mother, who gave birth to life, pure Virgin, ends all scandals which still beset Church, and as you are loving, Mother, grant her peace. E ach generation offers, my Christ, for your entombment in hymns and songs its praises. The Noble Joseph takes you down from the Tree, my Saviour, and in the tomb he lays you. Let all Creation join us, as to the Creator our farewell hymns we now sing. ‘O my sweetest springtime, O my sweetest Child, where has your beauty vanished? Myrrh-bearers came and sprinkled sweet myrrh upon your tomb, Lord, at early dawn they come now. Peace unto your Church, Lord, salvation to your people, grant by your Resurrection. Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. Father, Son and Spirit,O Trinity, my One God, have mercy on the whole world. Both now and forever and unto the ages of ages. Amen. Count all your servants worthy, to see, Most Holy Virgin, you Son’s bright Resurrection.

I pray with depths of my soul that one day we re-unite. One of the greatest tragedies of this world is the division of the Roman and Orthodox Churches. Christ's body should not be divided as His garments were at Golgotha!
Christ is not divided.
"I believe in One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church."
It is absolute heresy to say that He is divided. The Orthodox Church is His body and can never be divided.
The Church is indivisible, heretics have always been and always will be outside the Church.
Who is not against us is with us, a lot of luck. Hello from Serbia.
Yigithan İnanmış
Jesus himself, even in his obscurity, dreaded the gathering of crowds, and where possible avoided them.

Remember, you don't have to join every fight that you are invited to. No discussion about right and wrong worship is going to bring you closer if you are engaged in the meaning of this prayer.

A jewel of enharmonic vocal music.......
Peace be with all. Amen.
Beautiful indeed, hail Orthodoxy and all my Christian brothers and sisters!!
I'm an atheist and I highly approve this message. Fighting only creates more conflict, leading fewer opportunities for peace.
Let's just enjoy this beautiful music
I am also an atheist who loves this.
I totally agree.i am greek orthodox christian.baptize in saint stephanos church.i have roman catholic friends.so the fighting needs to stop.our lord jesus would not be happy with it.and the armenian monks greek monks need to stop the fighting.
Lord have mercy on me a poor sinner at your mercy cleanse me of my sins, i beg of you.
How lovely. Easter is the greatest festival of the church. I remember attending an Orthodox Holy Week many years ago. IC XC NI KA

where can i find the romanized lyrics
beautiful rendition! i hope the song is 800 years old! the more ancient then all the better!
@Lysandros I love all of the old laguages of the Church. I am a Traditional Catholic, where the Latin is chanted and sung every Sunday.
It is music that is bigger than me. Brings me so close to heaven.
This one sounds joyful and glorious...an exultation.....
Glory to God for all things amen
VERY beautiful version of the Egkomia! Thx once more and KALI ANASTASI!
Thank you for uploading all of these, they are utterly wonderful!
May God bless the Church of His Son Jesus Christ!!
very beautiful
Thanks for the great Music !
Got the chills... Great singing! Orthodox Forever!

0:26
Ἡ ζωὴ πῶς θνῄσκεις;
πῶς καὶ τάφῳ οἰκεῖς;
τί ζητῶν τοῖς ἐν τῷ ᾅδῃ ἐλήλυθας;
ἀστραπῆς φωτός σου αἴγλη ἐκτυφλωθείς;
τάφῳ πῶς ἐν σκοτεινῷ κατακέκρυψαι;
θαῦμα! Πῶς ὁμιλεῖ;
Πῶς θανάτῳ καταργεῖται ὁ θάνατος;
ἐκ θανόντος πῶς πηγάζει δὲ ζωή;

@mszegedy Lykourgos Angelopoulos is the name of one of the people who are chanting. He is a very well known chanter in Greece.
Beautiful !
Thanks
Inspired by God the Father, through his Son, Jesus Christ, in his Holy Spirit, who is in the men, whom you hear, in this chant, and, in whom, they are in. Amen.
God bless you.
Thank you Percernis.
arabic and greek! what a mix!
Contemplating Holy Week.
wow, what a find, thanks for posting this!
Beautiful. Thank you very much.
Thanks for uploading...
Thank you, you too!
I'm not saying this to be hateful, I swear. I think this in mostly greek but sometimes arabic. I speak arabic fluently, and at 3:34 after the chorus I can understand maybe 90% of the words (i'm not perfectly fluent though) They are talking about ascension of the soul.
You're correct, there is definitely a few verses in Arabic. I too speak Arabic (not fluently) but also picked it out.
RealMuthafunctioninG I think it acutaly might be coptic. I'm not entirely sure.
RealMuthafunctioninG Coptic sound similar to arabic because Coptic is like a little brother to Arabic. But you're probably right
Themostamazinguy Yeah, I'm not sure what Coptic sounds like.
4:09. The two Holiest people ever born on Earth. Mãe de Deus e Nosso Senhor. Madre de Dios y Nuestro Señor. What tender beauty
May the peace of the Lord be with you
Byzantine Empire is the one !
E você é comunista? Quem apoia o comunismo é automaticamente excomungado pela Santa Igreja, porque o comunismo é dialético e anticristão!
i just like this music i nothing to do with the church
Murat Tosun it is not music, Murat, a prayer
as for me a music :)
+NeoNika blogger a chant is a mixture of words and music. it is a song, but of a special type.
music made by instruments or by human voice. To the person singing it with belief, it is a prayer. To other people not concerned by this belief, it is a song
God Bless our Lord!
Ad majorem Dei gloriam !
the artwork is amazing
Beautifule one.
Is it Greek-Arabic mixed Chant?
no it is not a mix, it is a pure byzantine chant, it is an eastern Greek heritage, when we say Greek we mean ethnic Greeks and not limited to those living in Greece... you can introduce words from any language to this chant, but that will not change the chant, its a divine byzantine hymn.
Glory to the father and praise him for our brothers singing here and around the world.
blessed be the mighty lion that the lord god Yahweh is..
I fully agree Terry!
We should pray for unity instead of mourning our current situation. The enemy is is only strong because of our separation.
RESPECT CREECE !
not Greece but all credit goes to the imperial Greeks (ethnic eastern Greeks) ;)
Blessing to I am that I am.
To those who argue: Let us remember the holy icons in this video. And, not sin here in their presence.
Did anyone read the explanation? They said there is Arabic in the begining of every praise
Muito Bonito!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes I am confident that all true followers of Christ, regardless of denomination, creed, nationality, race, or any other division we have ourselves conceived, will be united together in Christ in the glory of Heaven.
What beauty men devise to satiate that which is infinitely more beautiful.
❤️🤍
amen!
It would be great you post the lyrics, because it's a hard work to find and mix the lyrics of two sources.
🙏🙏🙏☦🙏🙏🙏🇬🇷🇷🇺🇬🇷🇷🇺
this is why it is called a religion , it is faith you believe something so strong without having any proof blind faith true faith ... christian and other people that believe into the existance of god still believe in science , but think of this humanity has a limit when we discovere something something else will appear until we reach a limit here is god here is the undiscovered the uneplained the undefined here is something bigger that humanity ... thnx a science and believer of god
Very nicely done.
Where was this recorded?
This service in which these hyms are chanted is the Matins of Great and Holy Saturday. It is anticipated on Friday night.
KwnF
Where can I find lyrics of it?
Taking into concideration the clothes you described, he ust've appeared to them after the resurection. The only other place where Jesus is described in such a manner is during his transfiguration...
Do you know anybody who has the Páter himon in Ancient greek in Byzatine Chant?
Except you responded to one of my comments which was addressed to a MUSLIM which said that Jesus was in Yemen...
Refers to today (for our brothers in Christ Catholics) Holy Friday. 02.04.2021
hi do you know where can i find the romanized lyrics of this chant
@@adrianbarbacena6853 I
n the tomb they laid you, you, O Christ, who are Life;
in amazement angel armies lift up their song as they
glorify your self-abasement, Lord.
Now we magnify you, O Lord Jesus, our King, we pay
honour to your Passion and burial for from foul corruption you saved us through them.
Fairer he in beauty than are all mortal kind, now a corpse
we see, unsightly, bereft of form, he who beautified the
nature of all things.
Bitterly lamenting, ‘Woe is me, O my light! my heart’s
longing and the Light of the World, alas! Woe is me,
my heart’s desire’, the Virgin cried.
Lord, your pains I worship, and your burial praise, and
I magnify your might, Lover of mankind. By them I am
freed from passions which destroy.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy
Spirit.
Word, we sing your praises, as the Lord God of all,
with the Father and your most Holy Spirit, Lord, and
we glorify your burial divine.
Both now and forever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Now we call you blessed, All-Pure Mother of God, and
in faith we hold in honour and venerate the three day
entombment of your Son our God.
I
t is right indeed we should magnify the one who
grants life, you, that stretched your hands wide upon
the Cross, broke and smashed the might and power
of the foe.
All Earth quaked in fear and the sun concealed itself,
O Saviour, when, O Christ, our light, you set bodily, as
the light that knows no evening was entombed.
Like the pelican, you gave life, O Word, to your dead
children, wounded in your side, you let life-blood flow,
letting fall life-giving drops of blood on all.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy
Spirit. Great eternal God, co-eternal Word and Holy
Spirit, look down in your goodness on those who rule,
grant their sceptres strength against the warlike foe.
Both now and forever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Wholly undefiled,
Mother, who gave birth to life, pure Virgin, ends all
scandals which still beset Church, and as you are loving, Mother, grant her peace.
E
ach generation offers, my Christ, for your entombment in hymns and songs its praises.
The Noble Joseph takes you down from the Tree, my
Saviour, and in the tomb he lays you.
Let all Creation join us, as to the Creator our farewell
hymns we now sing.
‘O my sweetest springtime, O my sweetest Child, where
has your beauty vanished?
Myrrh-bearers came and sprinkled sweet myrrh upon
your tomb, Lord, at early dawn they come now.
Peace unto your Church, Lord, salvation to your people,
grant by your Resurrection.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
Father, Son and Spirit,O Trinity, my One God, have
mercy on the whole world.
Both now and forever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
Count all your servants worthy, to see, Most Holy Virgin,
you Son’s bright Resurrection.
@babylonreject I think you forgot one "minor" language of the region : Hebrew
