Good morning! Oh I just love watching the ships and boats. At one time I would go down and watch the ships come into the Houston Ship Channel. They would come in from different countries. Watching this is exciting but not as watching dolphins. They are the cuties. Oh well. Have a great day and stay cool. Thanks
Good morning my friend. Thank you for checking out the channel. I do have a part two coming up for the same day and there were a good amount of dolphins at the bow of one of the ships. Stay safe my friend.
Good day Dennis, Just watch your video that expressing your experience when hurricane Harvey came in. Could tell in your voice that it was a very emotional time in your life. I had friends in fulton at a rv park at this time and her husband past on and after a month I flu down and worked on her 5th wheel for a week and finally got it road ready and got her home Rochester MN. Some long lasting memories were made for a lifetime. Thank you Dennis for.your personal stories. See in a few months. And safe travels. Lee
Good morning Lee. Thank you for checking out the video. It is a very emotional issue that will probably stay with me the rest of my life. Not a good memory at all. It was nice to see people come together and put the help where it was needed the most. I'm glad you were able to get your fifth wheel home safely. I appreciate you checking out the video and I hope you have a very good day
Good morning. I hope you're well today. They were calling for rain here but it's sunny. Can't believe the weatherman was incorrect. Stay safe friend and enjoy the day.
Good morning! We enjoyed watching the ships come in. Thanks for sharing. Rain off and on coming to Minnesota, but we're looking forward to it because of the drought.
I hope you get the rain that you need my friend. It seems to be feast or famine down here. I'm just prepping everything today in case I have to bug out. I already offered Eugene a ride
Good afternoon my friend. I appreciate you checking it out. I have a part two that I'll release in a few days. Some bigger ships with some dolphins. I just really sit and enjoy The views in that area. Good stuff. Hope your day is going well!
I know you're just making a joke Charles. I would love to have good music playing in the background but UA-cam would strike the video. Honestly in a video like this I'd rather hear the water, birds and chips. Hope you're having a good day buddy.
The second boat you identified as "Port PD" was in fact a Texas Highway Patrol (TX DPS) patrol vessel used along the coast and the Rio Grande river...love the ship watching videos Dennis!
Thank you very much. I appreciate that. Vessel finder let me down that day but I think it was more of a tower issue in the area. I appreciate you checking out the video.
Good morning buddy. I'll get most of the numbers buddy bye enlarging the video so that I could try to read them. Even then it's tough. I'm booking up all that stuff after the fact. That's why I keep repeating that I know nothing about chips and then I get all my information from the Internet. I do think it is pretty awesome to watch them come and go. It also seems to be a good spot for people to stop and say hello that recognize me and that is always neat. Hope you're having a good day amigo!
Good morning Dennis! The reason the smaller ships aren't showing up is either they don't have an AIS Transciever, or theyre not transmitting their location at the time. Im not sure the rules on when you are required to transmit, but the coast guard website should have some info.
Good morning Samuel. I just found it odd because the other times I was able to identify every small vessel. The only ship that I couldn't identify was a Coast Guard predator and that was in stealth mode to sneak up on the bad guys. Most of our fishing vessels here in Fulton and Rockport have their transponders on at all times which is neat because they'll often make circles for ours to scoop up all the shrimp and the app will show their path. Pretty interesting. Hope you're doing well. Have yourself a great day buddy
The Ship Identification System can be used by anyone who purchases the transceiver. Many commercial ships use it because their insurance or local code requires it. Fishing boats often turn it off to hide their location from the enemy. Have a good day.
Good morning. Thank you for checking out the video. I do love watching the ships as they come and go. I even enjoy seeing the smaller vessels. Have yourself a great day.
Good morning Dennis.. very interesting watching the boats. I too like to know about them and what they do and what country they come from. Lots of activity there too. Enjoy your day.. ☘️⚓
Good morning Julie. I hope you are doing very well today. Thank you so much for watching the video. Isn't that how are forefathers came from Ireland to the states? Big old ships.
@@dennis78382 yes Dennis it was. My father told me that he accompanied lots of his nieces and nephews to USA on ships around 1910...he was a very young man himself at the time. He didn't stay there. He married in Ireland and had us kids... ⚓☘️
@@dennis78382 I wish I knew more. You know when your young we are not so interested, but now I'm older I'm sorry I don't know more.. alas my father is long gone now. So I know I have lots of relations there, somewhere.???
I agree with you. I would love to go back and do many things over again knowing what I know now. I have a relative who has an excellent knowledge of our families genealogy and history but he is just so damn annoying with his political views that I can't talk to him or connect with him on social media. It's a shame because I am interested in the family history.
I absolutely love this video 😻. Ad I've said before, it would be great to come stay awhile here. Thank you for the time and effort you put in for this video. Love it🖖
Good morning Debbie. Thank you very much. I really think every area has something beautiful to offer and it's just a matter of finding it and focusing on the good things. I think that's why I like Jim's videos so much. Very positive and mellow. Plus he has a good group of stars to work with. Hope you're having yourself a wonderful day
Good morning Dennis! Loved watching the ships so thanks for sharing. I could do that all day long. I didn't know you had bad weather coming your way. Hope it's nothing too bad. Have a great day and stay safe.
Good morning Larry. I hope you're doing well today and I appreciate you checking out the video. Basically we keep an eye on the weather every day but especially during hurricane season. A few months ago we had one go south of us. That's when I went on my trip. I'm just not ready to go through that again. I hope you're having yourself a very good day friend. Enjoy yourself and stay safe.
Oh and how cool would it be if I had time to go see the Leontios arrive in Delaware?! Of course if it's going to Denmark, not Delaware, I could be sitting and waiting for a crazy long time lol! Someday I'll have to find time to park myself along the Delaware River to watch and film some ships. Wish it was just a bit closer to home.
Good morning Jamie I was always amazed at the size of the ships that traveled the Great Lakes and major rivers in the United States. There's a canal nearby here that goes from victoria to open water. Pretty impressive.
It’s so interesting that you can get all that immediate info. You can do the same with air traffic. Tells you what planes are in the air. That sounds scary now that I think about it.
Good morning Cynthia. It is pretty amazing what you can find. Ships. Planes. Weather systems. Plants. They have apps for everything now. At the bay education center they have that global screen and it will occasionally show that planes and ships around the world. Thank you for checking out the video. I greatly appreciate that my friend
That spill ship was really cool. That would be a tough job cleaning up oil and other things. I always enjoy the water videos I miss being on a boat and the water. Hope your doing well Dennis.
Good morning sir. That was a neat vessel. Nice to have all that information at your fingertips. I really like how they were involved in the environment and we're helping with the sea turtles. Thank you for checking out the video this morning.
Awesome video this morning, Dennis! Watching these ships is mesmerizing. Bonus points to you for correctly identify the steam locomotive as "the best part of the train"! 🚂👍 Interesting analogy comparing that to tugboats. They are pretty cool and I always though being a tugboat captain would be an interesting job. I'm intrigued to hear how there's people who track those ships just like us railfans track individual locomotives. Sorry to hear bad weather is coming, but glad you enjoyed the good weather while you could. Stay safe, and if you get cooped up inside the love shack for too long you could always start building that Z scale train layout I keep telling you "you should build" lol.😉
Very nice Jamie. I'm sure some of the information that I am stating is incorrect in the videos but I kind of enjoy the fact that it's driving several people crazy. Mission accomplished! I'm really interested in the pilots who board many types of vessels and can operate them safely through the channel. They must be a wealth of information.
