Yeah I've seen people do that but I like to keep tap water entirely out of my system. Even though I would finish it off with distilled water I still don't ever let tap water touch anything.
Great video. The take away? Dont buy Thermaltake radiators. I've probably purchased and used dozens of radiators from various companies and have NEVER had to flush them more then 3 or 4 times. I've used various sizes too, from XSPS's 20mm ultrathin rads to Alphacool's NexXxos Monsta which was 80+mm, I think 85mm. I've never, in person, see that much "junk" come out of a radiator. I also drain the water through coffee filters to make sure nothing is coming out of the rads I'll be putting into a customers PC. I mean Wow, just Wow. I bet your glad it was a sponsored/partnered build? Lol.
I saw a young lady on UA-cam with a better technique ,she hooked up to a $10 submersible pump and flushed the Radiator catching the Shavings in a reusable coffee filter
Great Video, thanks brother. I appreciate you showing me how to clean this bad boy. I'm doing my first custom water loop and my TT CL 420 radiator shipped first. I was wondering about the bottom plug, well, now i know...and knowing is half the battle.
i have mixed feelings regarding TT, they have a long history with bad parts/products. But hey, they might be good in the near future, never say never #belieber (lol jk)
I've been using TT products for over 10 years and i've nevr had a failed or defect on a product except for one, and that's an issue with the RGB on the original Floe Riing 240. . A failed product can happen to anyone. I've had shit cameras from Samsung, but i've never had a problem with their storage solutions and my parents have an excellent curved 4K Samsung in their living room. It's all in the matter of the electronic world. You win some, you lose some.
I just got my Pacific Max 360 kit, that comes with this radiator, so i definitely need to get some more distilled water (I do auto detailing as a hobby, and maybe will do it full time in the future so distilled water is a must have anyways for dilution). I've been searching for HOURS on UA-cam on this radiator, because it has holes on both sides. My case has a drainage plate for a radiator like this, does it matter which holes you use to put the tubing through? I haven't done water cooling in such a long time, especially not with these newer radiators and stuff. E: I just watched you follow up videos, your rad only has holes on one side. So maybe it doesn't matter on mine with which way i run the tubes?
Mine has holes on both sides. You don't want to use the drain valve as a run though, just use it for draining. You'll better understand the flow when you put one tube on say the front and another on the back. Just make sure you flush away!
Alphacool radiators usually are very dirty as well, but the one that took the crown was a Magicool radiator. Even after 20 flush it still had those tiny white/silver particles coming out of it. I swear it was as if someone forgot his ashtray inside it!
@@NexusVibee Paul's Hardware just released a video showing this same fluid. Perfectly fine if not the best textured fluid he's seen. Used it for 13 months off and on.
whew, 15 times, that's intense.
You're telling me!

A lot of useful info in this video, thanks man!

I don't do it that way because vigorous shaking will get everything. just running water in it won't.

Yo Joe!
Are those m3 or m4 screw holes for the fans?
A 6-month after comparison video would be good Thermaltake Radiator has bit inside vs different brand such as an ek loop

So far this is a qualify PC case, but I was disappointed to see so much crud come out of the radiator
no one makes cases like TT does though
