It feels as if every single bullet has impact, the enemies seems to have a blood splatter with each individual shot and flinched with each shot. The rag doll seems heavier as well....far cry 5 has weird gunplay after playing this one for a little

The lack of customization makes sense in this one. Since they are doing an rpg approach to weapons if you were able to customize the guns would become way too overpowered. Like a suppressor on the giant tool would equal you bassicly never having a challenge.
Overall, I had a great time with FC New Dawn. I too played FC5 when it came out, yet was hesitant to buy New Dawn. I agree that the story is Far too short. You could literally sit down and finish the main story missions in one or two sittings. I have been with the FC series since the beginning, so I did enjoy New Dawn. I think if if the game was an add-on DLC to FC5 it would of sat better with fans rather than it being a standalone game.
I finally got into Far Cry New Dawn once I found the mods that could remove all the enemy levels and fix the weapon damage so they felt like real firearms. While this makes the game noteworthily easy and remove the need to grind as much resources for better weapons it was still challenging enough to be fun. If you were a fan of the 5th game and would love to play it through, but skipped it due to the leveling stuff, and use PC to play it on, then try to find the Scavenger mod and the Improved Weapon mod. In the latter you only need to use one of the options that remove enemy levels or set all health to the same.
If this game was say "added DLC", then the whole package would have been soo good that it would be too good to be true. it's 15$ DLC plain and simple. But, ma boy sleathgamerBR is at it so why not
Since currently it is so cheap, I been considering to pick this up. Your review is really on point. Other reviewers didn't put some of the points you pointed out in here, for example the weapon is not that customizable as in FC5. Glad now I know that since I really love the full customization on FC5.

I’m actually kinda glad the map isn’t too big and there aren’t as many side missions compared to far cry 5. While playing 5, missions and such were piling up and just become overwhelming to me.
Loved this game! The fact that it’s not very long works in it’s favor. Ubisoft treated it like the sequel that it was. Great protagonists and antagonists. Loved the graphics and the utilization of pink. Randomly not random because we don’t really know what this world would have been like afterwards. The story was simple yet powerful. They were smart to have side missions set up to where you can find out what the rest of the world looks like after the bombs went off! The fact that you can pick up post cards of previous locations before the bombs destroyed them and see them side by side. Little touches like that matter in immersive type games.
i rented this game when it first came out and yeah, it was my first far cry game and i loved it and i ended up getting far cry 5 last year and loved that too, i have far cry 4 and i haven’t really been able to put nearly as much time into it as i have with 5 and new dawn and i wonder why that is
5 and new dawn i replayed the most of entire series and i have such fun every single time and it's like i try new stuff every time and dive into the story. I feel you.
I fucking loved New Dawn despite it being a short game, I just loved going back to Hope County years after the Nuclear apocalypse at the end of 5 and seeing how everything was just buried or destroyed, Mickey and Lou definitely weren't the best villians but they were really good, the final boss fight was very disappointing that could have been done better but all and all it was a great game that kept me coming back for more
I have loved far cry a Long time now and my favorite is without a doubt far cry 4. But i feel like they dont take the time to make the game instead they just release games to make money. Thats why i didnt but this game. But Nice review, i like the Way you “split” the video up in sections, like “gameplay” and “backstory” and so fourth
It may have no customisation but at least you get to upgrade your weapon damage and perks infinitely .that is what I love about far cry new dawn. They really put some thought into this game.

I got New Dawn for like 7 bucks on sale for PS4. Totally worth it. My main complaint was the mumble rap soundtrack lol... i dug the classic rock and blues in FarCry5. The familiarity of the landscape and the overgrown abandoned locations gave it a sorta creepy feel. I was "looking over my shoulder" more than in FC5. The soundtrack adds to that. And there are more agressive animals that are harder to kill. Can't tell you how many stealth creep-ups were spoiled by badgers and wild dogs. I agree with your review... feels like a completely new but weirdly familiar game.
Just bought it yesterday for PS5 only for 10 EUR and it runs smoothly and looks awesome - no performance issues or bugs so far. I'm having fun with this game and would recommend it, despite there's a lot of grinding to get high tier gears so you can deal with elite enemies at the end .

The map looks leagues better than Far Cry 5’s. It’s crazy how foliage and saturation make a disappointing map look like a beautiful, traditional Far Cry map
I haven't played anything other than primal and almost 2 hours of new dawn, but i absolutely LOVED primal, I think they absolutely nailed it, but im just not seeing much in new dawn, i don't know if it's because a slow start or something but so far im not impressed

This game is going to be a pass from me, me and my friend just recently finished all content in far cry 5 and we were disappointed at the game, it just didn't feel like a far cry game with the mute character that you play as and the lame ending, you couldn't even kill any of the bosses yourself which was a real bummer. You should definitely do a review of if you should buy far cry 3/4 in 2020 because those games are worth every penny, great story, great visuals and in both games an overall immersive experience ! Keep up the great work!
MrKnifeart so New Dawn and Far Cry 5 are the only far cry games that allow you to do co-op for the main story. In the earlier far cry games you can only do co-op for side content. So I would probably recommend Fad Cry 5 for co-op and if you like that you can do New Dawn as well.

MrKnifeart my personal favorite is far cry 3, and I think it’s the best in terms of quality but again that’s only for the main missions which are solo. The side content is basic which is the part that is co-op. So I would definitely say to go with Far Cry 5 if a good co-op quality is what u are looking for.

I remember playing this game and I do agree with a lot about it feeling rushed with no that many story missions but I did like it but not as much far cry 5 the weapons I like to sure no customization but I remember using a blood dragon bow which does Tons of damage and I can get the arrows right after I kill them and also I remember using some type of a rocket launcher I don’t remember the name but both of my weapons were legendary witch if you haven’t played FC new dawn then that means there really good weapons but besides all of that if you liked the story of FC5 and the characters then you will like this maybe not as much but I think you might

While I agree with most being said, I disagree with "you shouldnt start with new Dawn if you havent tries FC". Why? Its the most up to date FC game, beautiful graphics, better defined mission structure. Its one of the better FC. What should ppl start with? FC3? That feels out dated to play now? Nope. I was so disappointed in Far Cry 5, that I only played it for maybe 2 hours before giving up on it. I was just curious to see if New Dawn was worth playing if I just read about Far Cry 5's story first. But still, I really don't like the nameless and mute protagonist at all, it was a stupid idea. I think I'll just wait until Far Cry 6 comes out, and have my fingers crossed that they listened our criticisms. Far Cry 5 looked so damn good from the into, and so does Far Cry 6, so I won't get my hopes up about it.
I started on far cry 3...loved it , then got far cry4 and never got round to playing it , then got far cry primal and didn't like it so took it back , so now I'm on far cry 5 and I really like it , and just bought new dawn ready to play after 👍
I felt like the cutscene with Rush and twins was really great even if was kinda dumb in the story the oh shit they give you when you breaks kinda makes your character feel like a wild beast barely kept on Leash idk though

I literally just finished this game about 20 minutes ago and all I have to say is that the game is alright where its not good but its not bad. I did not feel connected to any of the characters at all and was pretty bummed that the characters felt kinda stale such as Rush and that the twins were such a let down, just more annoying me rather than making me fear them. And the game felt EXTREMELY short. I had stopped playing the game for a while about 4 months ago and was around the start of the game. And coming back to it, I was ready to pour a lot of time into it like how I did with Far Cry 5 but in just a snap it was over and was like "WTF? That was quick!" Lastly I don't really like the RPG type enemies as Purple and Higher enemies felt like bullet sponges even with strong weapons. So most of the time I would go into Outposts and have to takedown all the enemies since that was pretty much the only viable and least stressful way to do it. But all in all I would have to give this game a 6/10 if you were to buy this game full priced. But if you manage to get it on sale for less than $15 dollars then you'd definitely get your money's worth.
I know there's only a small few main story missions but to be honest there's so much to do inbetween them you can stretch them out over a period of time

New dawn was my first experience with the far cry series and I've tried a few others but I didn't find them nearly as fun. Also I really enjoy post apocalyptic settings for games. Imo, new dawn was a lot of fun. Other than not being able to mod weapons, its the best one.

This one is short as hell good if you want to see the story from fc5 but gameplay wise no not much . I’m just glad that fc6 will be a way better than this. On one hand at lest they’ll keep the saw launcher as a music launcher. Let’s be honest though this should’ve been a dlc.
My biggest issue with this game is the constant combat whenever I’m driving anywhere. It’s a real pain in the ass, especially when you still haven’t fully maxed out your ammo perk and the weapon area of the base. I hate how I’m forced to fight a bunch of enemies because no matter how fast you drive, they continue to chase you until you kill them. I don’t understand why the developers made the combat so forced when you’re driving. Sometimes I just want to drive somewhere without having stop and deal with enemies. Especially since more will spawn and come after you. It’s a chore.
All of ubisofts new games have a weird arcade feel. I don’t like that every time I hit someone I see a big number come up. It takes away from the experience. I don’t know why Ubisoft feels that every one of there games need to be turned into the division.
I've been deciding whether to buy Far Cry 5 or Far Cry New Dawn. I've only played Far Cry 4, and looking for a new FC game. So far it's New Dawn that I'm wanting to buy, but is this or FC5 better?
You should absolutely be playing Far Cry 5 before playing New Dawn. New Dawn is a direct sequel to far cry 5 and takes place years after the events of the ending of far cry 5. Also far cry 5 has a lot more content and it’s world is about 10x bigger than New Dawns. You should absolutely check out New Dawn tho once you finish Far Cry 5
Not the best but I actually enjoyed this more than far cry 5 which I felt was a grind to get upto boss fights doing mediocre missions. The twins weren't threatening at all but they were fun and made u want to kill them more also I loved the post apocalypse story setting its definitely worth playing if u don't want to play far cry 5 or replay 5 then it's worth it for £6
You have to allow for the many other nationalities who play these games. I'm female and I play as a female but, most importantly, I am not American, so it's usually nice not to have to listen to an accent that is not mine for my character. Imagine if they had to have many different languages for voice actors voicing the protagonist!
I understand that but you’d rather play as a mute character just because they don’t share the same accent as you? Having a mute character allows for no good development or plot, imagine your favorite game or movies where the character just doesn’t talk. I understand where ur coming from but even for me I don’t have issue with playing as a character with a different accent like in the Assassins Creed games.
@@masterassassin791 Tell that to The Legend of Zelda, or the Fallout series (minus FO4). A mute character lets the player put themselves into the game, and not have words put into their mouth. I'm not saying that voiced characters are bad. Not at all. In some instances a voiced PC can add another layer to the character, but kind of takes away the R from the RPG.
Why in FC5 and FCND the protagonist is doesn't talk/mute? For me personally, is kinda backward to FC2. Even FC3 Jason and FC4 Ajay is talking. I hope in FC6 protagonist is not mute anymore.

I always played Far Cry Game Every Released. Since 2016 I played Far Cry 3. 2017 Far Cry 4. Then Far Cry Primal. 2018 Far Cry 5. And 2020 Far Cry New Dawn.

So before I watch this I’m just throwing in my 2 cents. I bought new dawn digital night it released cause I was too lazy to go to GameStop. Enjoyed it a lot and about a month or 2 ago I went and bought it on my sexy sexy Xbox one x Chloe. Have played it multiple times along with far cry 5. I have classic edition on ps4 and one x. Have 4 primal and 5 as well. I honestly never get tired of the games. I personally don’t see why so many people wait to be far cry games on sale. I think they are well worth it full price. But I can easily manage my income so two games when I feel like it

One of my favorite parts of New Dawn was having a person singing in the main base. It was such a nice, relaxing touch.
New Dawn and FC5 are my absolutely favorite FC games and one of the most entertaining games I've ever played.

MrKnifeart my personal favorite is far cry 3, and I think it’s the best in terms of quality but again that’s only for the main missions which are solo. The side content is basic which is the part that is co-op. So I would definitely say to go with Far Cry 5 if a good co-op quality is what u are looking for.

I remember playing this game and I do agree with a lot about it feeling rushed with no that many story missions but I did like it but not as much far cry 5 the weapons I like to sure no customization but I remember using a blood dragon bow which does Tons of damage and I can get the arrows right after I kill them and also I remember using some type of a rocket launcher I don’t remember the name but both of my weapons were legendary witch if you haven’t played FC new dawn then that means there really good weapons but besides all of that if you liked the story of FC5 and the characters then you will like this maybe not as much but I think you might

IMO New Dawn is way better than FC5. FC5 was all time low of the FC series. I hope FC6 keeps the trend and reach those FC3 levels we all want
While I agree with most being said, I disagree with "you shouldnt start with new Dawn if you havent tries FC". Why? Its the most up to date FC game, beautiful graphics, better defined mission structure. Its one of the better FC. What should ppl start with? FC3? That feels out dated to play now? Nope. New Dawn is a fine place to start

I was so disappointed in Far Cry 5, that I only played it for maybe 2 hours before giving up on it. I was just curious to see if New Dawn was worth playing if I just read about Far Cry 5's story first. But still, I really don't like the nameless and mute protagonist at all, it was a stupid idea. I think I'll just wait until Far Cry 6 comes out, and have my fingers crossed that they listened our criticisms. Far Cry 5 looked so damn good from the into, and so does Far Cry 6, so I won't get my hopes up about it.
I started on far cry 3...loved it , then got far cry4 and never got round to playing it , then got far cry primal and didn't like it so took it back , so now I'm on far cry 5 and I really like it , and just bought new dawn ready to play after 👍

I bought this full price recently. The only thing that really bothers me is the lack of planes and less fish.
I felt like the cutscene with Rush and twins was really great even if was kinda dumb in the story the oh shit they give you when you breaks kinda makes your character feel like a wild beast barely kept on Leash idk though

I haven't played the series yet but I'm just looking for a good co-op (And there's many), unfortunately Blizzard got rid of headquarters in sabotage on Black Ops 4 which is absolutely insane, agree??
far cry 5 standard edition (because dlc in far cry is poop) over new dawn because there's more content in 5 and more to explore. Come to this afterwards.

I literally just finished this game about 20 minutes ago and all I have to say is that the game is alright where its not good but its not bad. I did not feel connected to any of the characters at all and was pretty bummed that the characters felt kinda stale such as Rush and that the twins were such a let down, just more annoying me rather than making me fear them. And the game felt EXTREMELY short. I had stopped playing the game for a while about 4 months ago and was around the start of the game. And coming back to it, I was ready to pour a lot of time into it like how I did with Far Cry 5 but in just a snap it was over and was like "WTF? That was quick!" Lastly I don't really like the RPG type enemies as Purple and Higher enemies felt like bullet sponges even with strong weapons. So most of the time I would go into Outposts and have to takedown all the enemies since that was pretty much the only viable and least stressful way to do it. But all in all I would have to give this game a 6/10 if you were to buy this game full priced. But if you manage to get it on sale for less than $15 dollars then you'd definitely get your money's worth.

Uhm... New dawn was my first experience with the far cry series and I've tried a few others but I didn't find them nearly as fun. Also I really enjoy post apocalyptic settings for games. Imo, new dawn was a lot of fun. Other than not being able to mod weapons, its the best one.

This one is short as hell good if you want to see the story from fc5 but gameplay wise no not much . I’m just glad that fc6 will be a way better than this. On one hand at lest they’ll keep the saw launcher as a music launcher. Let’s be honest though this should’ve been a dlc.
My biggest issue with this game is the constant combat whenever I’m driving anywhere. It’s a real pain in the ass, especially when you still haven’t fully maxed out your ammo perk and the weapon area of the base. I hate how I’m forced to fight a bunch of enemies because no matter how fast you drive, they continue to chase you until you kill them.
I don’t understand why the developers made the combat so forced when you’re driving. Sometimes I just want to drive somewhere without having stop and deal with enemies. Especially since more will spawn and come after you. It’s a chore.

All of ubisofts new games have a weird arcade feel. I don’t like that every time I hit someone I see a big number come up. It takes away from the experience. I don’t know why Ubisoft feels that every one of there games need to be turned into the division.

I've been deciding whether to buy Far Cry 5 or Far Cry New Dawn. I've only played Far Cry 4, and looking for a new FC game. So far it's New Dawn that I'm wanting to buy, but is this or FC5 better?
You should absolutely be playing Far Cry 5 before playing New Dawn. New Dawn is a direct sequel to far cry 5 and takes place years after the events of the ending of far cry 5. Also far cry 5 has a lot more content and it’s world is about 10x bigger than New Dawns. You should absolutely check out New Dawn tho once you finish Far Cry 5
Playing new dawn before 5 isn’t a good choice. What I did was to play 5 and then jump straight forward to new dawn.

Not the best but I actually enjoyed this more than far cry 5 which I felt was a grind to get upto boss fights doing mediocre missions. The twins weren't threatening at all but they were fun and made u want to kill them more also I loved the post apocalypse story setting its definitely worth playing if u don't want to play far cry 5 or replay 5 then it's worth it for £6

I would. It was the first Far Cry that I played and it hooked me on the series. The animal companions are a lot of fun.

You have to allow for the many other nationalities who play these games. I'm female and I play as a female but, most importantly, I am not American, so it's usually nice not to have to listen to an accent that is not mine for my character.
Imagine if they had to have many different languages for voice actors voicing the protagonist!
I understand that but you’d rather play as a mute character just because they don’t share the same accent as you? Having a mute character allows for no good development or plot, imagine your favorite game or movies where the character just doesn’t talk. I understand where ur coming from but even for me I don’t have issue with playing as a character with a different accent like in the Assassins Creed games.
@@masterassassin791 Tell that to The Legend of Zelda, or the Fallout series (minus FO4). A mute character lets the player put themselves into the game, and not have words put into their mouth.
I'm not saying that voiced characters are bad. Not at all. In some instances a voiced PC can add another layer to the character, but kind of takes away the R from the RPG.
Why in FC5 and FCND the protagonist is doesn't talk/mute?
For me personally, is kinda backward to FC2.
Even FC3 Jason and FC4 Ajay is talking.

2017 Far Cry 4.
Then Far Cry Primal.
2018 Far Cry 5.
And 2020 Far Cry New Dawn.

So before I watch this I’m just throwing in my 2 cents. I bought new dawn digital night it released cause I was too lazy to go to GameStop. Enjoyed it a lot and about a month or 2 ago I went and bought it on my sexy sexy Xbox one x Chloe. Have played it multiple times along with far cry 5. I have classic edition on ps4 and one x. Have 4 primal and 5 as well. I honestly never get tired of the games.
I personally don’t see why so many people wait to be far cry games on sale. I think they are well worth it full price. But I can easily manage my income so two games when I feel like it
