I first saw your Mom when 13 years old in Bethel N.Y. at place called Woodstock. I was there with my older Brother from Florida.
At my young age I reconized there was something different about your Mom and her music, it was laden with the true spririt of the time, and laced with heartfelt honesty and a sincere love for peace.
I've carried what I learned the night she perform throughout my life, and it has served me well.
I believe your Moms music and messages will never expire just get better as time goes on, thank you for for keeping them fresh and alive.
The music bussiness is rough road sometime, but I believe your Mom has prepared you well for this challage and wish you the best as you move forward.

This song is on the terribly underrated “Photograph” album. It’s my favorite Melanie album. It was released in late 1976 on Atlantic Records. The single release from that album was “Cyclone” which Melanie sang on American Bandstand. The album contains everything from rock to folk to blues to gospel to jazz. If you can find the album, get it! It’s a lost treasure. Rest In Peace, Melanie Safka. I am lighting a candle in the rain for you!

The first album I ever bought was garden in the city..im in tears now listening to this song. I know she wouldn't want us to be so sad but that's the way it is. She was wonderful.
