You’re so welcome! & blessings on your journey!!! My nursing school didn’t offer OR clinical either but we were allowed to choose our patients so I would pick a patient that had surgery scheduled that day and would follow them :)

My lip combo is Spite by MAC & limitless brown liner by makeup forever 🫶🏽
@@Tahjeirasbeautymark thanks babe!

I have 2 knees replaced, my doc uses the robotic to do the surgery now in a out patient setting at their ambulatory surgery center, and it’s cheaper too
That’s awesome! Yes outpatient surgery is cheaper
New to your channel ❤Luv it🎉
Thank you love!!❤️
This was fun to watch
New subscriber from a UA-camr as well🤘
Thank you girly!❤️❤️
Hi, where is your scrub hat from? thanks for the video!
You’re welcome let me find the link!
I’m so glad I came across your channel. Im trying to transition to the OR after working MedSurg for all of my career. I’m applying for some OR fellowship programs within my state. Do you have any advice or words of wisdom?
Yesss I love to see it!! You are going to love the OR unit🥰 After the fellowship program look for an OR residency you can apply to! The one in Texas is 22 weeks. The residency program will definitely equip you with the basics! Observe everything you will literally learn something new every day, carry a mini tablet with you to take notes that’s your personal OR Bible, it can be intimidating but ask as many questions as you need you may feel like you’re asking too much or totally lost but the surgical team will appreciate that you’re trying to learn because it will only make future surgeries go smoother! Hope that helped🫶🏽
Very nice video.... How long have you worked as a nurse if I may ask?.... which position would one have to do those tasks?....I am starting nursing school this fall and I am primarily interested in mental health but i am also interested in ER, and ICU, so it is. nice to watch that kind of video....
Thank you! I’ve been a nurse a little over 2 years now & this position is called an OR nurse circulator. Being a circulator we are the only ones during surgery that is not sterile so this means as a nurse you circulate the room during surgery making sure it’s safe for the patient throughout the duration of surgery & retrieving any equipment or new items the surgeon or tech may need. Goodluck on your journey! Consider working in the OR as well!
Thanks for walking me through OR I think I’ll transition to OR
Yayy I’m happy to have helped🥰
I am also OR nurse. I really hate setting up and picking cases. I see you have so much energy and motivation. In cadana team attendant does that job. I llike your spcious OR. Where is it?
Yess I llke setting up rooms ! Not so much picking cases lol & I’m in Houston Texas ! Everything’s bigger in Texas is the motto lol
I wish we had team attendants!😭
How do you know which instruments to get for each surgery? Do they provide you with a list?
Yes there’s a preference card that has everything you need on there from instruments to positioning!
❤
🫶🏽❤️❤️
Thank you so much for sharing this! I look forward to becoming a OR NURSE!!!! I eventually want to work in dermatology too.
Yesss I love both fields ! I know you’ll love it them too & you’re welcome I can’t wait for you too we need more OR nurses!!🫶🏽
@@Tahjeirasbeautymark Thank you so much!!
As a circulating nurse, I’m wondering how physical the job is other than being on your feet a lot. Are you helping position patients and transferring them to the table and pushing their bed etc? I did see you will have to move heavy equipment. Curious because I have an old labrum tear in my shoulder that gives me pain. I’ll be working in the Neuro cluster. Thanks!
Hey! Yes as a circulating nurse you’re always positioning patients and moving them and everything you said but the thing is you have a whole team with you! You’re never doing any of these tasks alone, if you let someone know about your injury they will find ways to help you with it!
You might the OR look fun. Was thinking about switiching.
The OR is definitely a different world of nursing! I think you’ll like it!❤️
Loved this video!❤ Do you have any tips for a recent BSN new grad to get hired into HCA's OR new grad residency program? 🥺
Yes I do! Please subscribe to my email list through the link in my bio I’m dropping something next week🎉❤️
tahjeirasbeautymark.com
I have those exact socks😂😂😂😂
Love them!
I'm doing my prerequisites so I can go to nursing school and now I'm considering being an OR nurse because of your video! I was originally thinking ER nursing, but it's definitely something to think about.
Yayy! Both units work together hand in hand! Good luck on your journey love!❤️
@@Tahjeirasbeautymark Thank you!
Why are all those sneaker lined out of the lockers?
Great question!! In the OR, everyone leaves their shoes by their locker because they don’t want to track bodily fluids in their homes so we leave our shoes at work!
They turn their name tag around so noone knows who they are weird
Everyone is entitled to their privacy love! Some people don’t want to expose their workplace for safety reasons, has nothing to do with hiding identity with all my handles tagged lol
@@Tahjeirasbeautymarkdo you work for BJC?
Are you talking to us or to the viewer on your camera? 😂 you’re looking off to the side the entire video
I’m confused about your question lol…I look off to the side often but I’m talking to whoever is watching the video, the camera is on me…Hope the helped!
