To me it is just AWESOME stuff!! Very effective and something that can be practiced even if Father tine is close behind. I have incorporated it into my Aikido and it blends beautifully! My primary sources are Professor Jays videos until I can find a teacher because it is definitely an art I want to pursue! I often wear a could have Small Circle ⭕️Jujitsu this to keep his name out there (people do comment Oh I remember him) and to give credit for what I’ve learned so far. 😎

It's uses joint- manipulation / bone breaking techniques from Japan and Hawaii. So the application is kind of hard to use in a violent encounter without maiming the attacker, and that's only if you're aware of the incoming attack.

Hi. It was already hard to controle a violent attacker, regarless of what's your practice (or not).
But SCJ can be more painful with the finger control (he must be stop directly without strikes) and less injuries maybe. It's a great martial way, efficient and technical. Enjoy if you try 😉

I've never understood why small circle jiujitsu is not more popular. It seems really effective. Maybe people think you will get a really fat stomach if you do it too much? Not sure...🤔😁

It is really effective. I think people don't want to increase the technics. And maybe the Pain 😅
Fortunately, our Grand Master Professor Leon Jay is fit and efficient 😎

Ask the Gracies why. You know...they hired Wally Jay to show them things when they first came to Torrance, California in the early 1980's. As a matter of fact, they hired a bunch of West Coast martial artists as a way to have simpatico with the local area. It wasn't until the UFC found the Gracies that they became stars. SCJJ is an extension of Danzan Ryu JuJitsu and is Wally Jay's own invention to expand Kodenkan jujitsu and so that non-Japanese could learn it. After UFC, cable TV and the mythology of the jive BJJ took over, everyone forgot about SCJJ. It is effective because the PRINCIPLES upon which this system is based is effective. You can apply it to any martial arts or any athletic endeavour. BTW...traditional jujitsu won't let you get to the ground. BJJ STARTS on the ground. Not a good place to be even if you are good at ground rasslin'.

@@J3unG The UFC didn't find the Gracie's, The Gracie's (particularly Rorion Gracie) built the UFC.
BJJ was gaining traction well before that though, with the "Gracie challenge", and Rorion training Mel Gibson and Gary Busey for the final fight scene in the 1987 film Lethal Weapon.
