I don’t have my dad anymore since he passed and my son’s dad is not very involved at all so I think we’re going to learn together how to do things. We were just talking about this too. Thank you for posting.
I appreciate your videos SO much!! A few years ago I watched the video of how to put up shelves. Since then, I have done it 2 other times and each time, I think “Dad taught me how to do this!!” You are so helpful and I swear you know every idea/project I’m considering. Thanks so much for your help!! ❤
Referencing looking like Wilson made me smile so much! Also, I've actually been wanting to compost so this video is very good timing for me. Thanks, Dad!
Something I remembered recently is that although grocery bags can not be easily recycled, they can be donated to your local food pantry/food bank. They can always use them.
A step drill would have made this job a lot easier although it is a less common drill bit to possess. Also starting this project by drilling the holes in the lid to get a custom to the process is a good tip to familiarize yourself with how it's going to go.
There's a neat little tool I have we call a 'nibbler', with the right blade on it would 'chew' through the base of that bin easily. I'll be using it to cut out the base of a large, plastic wheelie bin I'm going to use for my new compost bin.
Not a dad but some people use composting as a way to make rich soil for gardens or landscaping. Others compost food waste just so it doesn't end up in a landfill or littering bits all over the place in the back yard. If you have a large family or limited trash removal that biological waste can take up space you're paying for in the bin or carrying to the dump. Usually takes a few weeks depending on how often you turn it. Bacteria are breaking it down basically into dirt so always wash your hands.
They were able to dig the compost pile because the ground was very soft. I am hoping since I dug down into the hard ground. It might be harder for them to dig. We will see 🤔
Thanks dad! I dont have a yard to make a compost like this, but i was wanting to make a small tote garden. would something smaller work with a tote on my balcony?
I've made compost in a big plantar before. Make sure the plantar has drainage holes. Put twigs and leaves in the bottom, then compost from the kitchen. Alternate with browns (leaves, cardboard pieces, paper, etc) and compost. I top it off with dirt. I let it sit like 4 or 5 months and then used the soil in it for my garden
A mix of dry and damp helps keep the smell down, we throw shredded paper in ours every so often, toilet roll tubes etc. Too wet, stinky, too dry, also stinky.
@@DadhowdoIit seems it may have been better to leave the bottom of the can on. Then it would be easier to turn the material inside every week or so, after adding compost. Plus the matter towards the bottom bottom is what is typically ready to use first, so I'm wondering how you plan to get that. It's a decent idea, but not one of the more thought out options I've ever seen, and I multiple people who compost & use the broken down material.
I started my compost in a metal can that was a little rusty and already had holes. I keep it inside my shed, however. A while ago I transferred it to a larger plastic trashcan. Every now and then I take a shovel to mix it up. Do you stir yours up, or just let it sit?
Yo! can you make how to riding motorcycle videos? like everything aspect needed to operate it and how to maintain the gas accelerator. i’d appreciate that if u could make one. Before my dad passed away, i could drive the little one, and my father went died on an accident with motorcycle, so i have kind of trauma.

Hope that dog’s alright. Saw the cone of shame.
Yeah, she had a skin tag removed from her face.
How long will it rot? What will you use it for then?

did he read my mind??? i was just thinking about composting!
Hi! Can't the rats dig under the compost since you removed the bottom? Great video always therapeutic to watch:)

@@DadhowdoI Hope it works out for you in the end🙂 Even though I'm not building a compost soon it was entertaining to watch😄

Great job. The only thing I am concerned about is the smell because of the hole.

I stir it up every time I add something
You deserve a big piece of 🥧and a large ☕after all that hard work
I don't know why I didn't think that metal would make a good compost bin but makes sense
I love you ❤
I understand adding leaves and decaying matter, but what’s the purpose of adding soil? Does it speed along the process?
Wilson 😊
Hey dad, If I used a razor guard on my razor to shave does it prevent me from getting a full shave? I just want to trim up
dad, how do i post letters?
My son (16) was just taught this at school the other day. This is first time they actually taught it too
@ashleyriley1179 the way they teach it in school is so different practically tbh
@@aizen.is.strawberry I'm curious. What do you mean, by "posting letters?"

I recommended these guys a couple of years ago;
www.freetaxusa.com.
It should just walk you through everything that you need.
