This video, good sir, turned out to be a plethora of information about a comic book character that I had my eye out for a while. Thank you so much for the recommendations! Your video gave me back interest in Usagi Yojimbo and earned a subscription from me. Congratulations!
Great introduction to Usagi here! =) The best comic ever. I also recommend the newly re-printed Fantagraphics Special Edition box set for starting at the beginning in black and white. After that, the Saga books from Darkhorse are awesome. For me that's been my preferred way to read them, as I like the larger page size versus the single editions, but portability could be a deal-breaker there. As Shah states there's no shortage of Usagi, just be aware you sometimes have to be patient when things are between printings, as these are very popular. Don't panic! For example, it was looking bleak for certain Saga volumes this past year (especially during the pandemic) before these 2nd edition printings were announced by Dark horse. 1st editions can still go for a lot on Ebay, even the paperbacks. A lot of new readers may be deterred having to pay twice or quadruple the price for what would otherwise have been a $25-$30 omnibus. And the same goes for the Special Edition, I was glad I waited for it to come back in stock at Fantagraphics or I would have paid quite a deal more on Ebay! If you can wait for things to be in stock it's usually worth it. Happy reading!
Thank you so much for this video, I grew up as a fan of Asian cinema. So Mifune / Shintaro and so on are very famous names for me. So that this comic book tells the story of famous Japanese samurai-like Musashi is new for me. So I have to read this comic, thanks again.
It took me a couple of months to track down books 1 to 7 from fantagraphics, Mostly from eBay and smaller retailers. I’ve also been reading the single issues from IDW and picked up the recent trade paperbacks. I’m now trying to track down all of the hardcover edition of the Saga series, I’ve currently found five out of the nine limited-edition saga books. 👍 (1,5,6,8,9 i have so far)
Luckily, those Fantagraphics books aren't completely out of print. The hardcovers of the Fantagraphics era need reprints, though. Those Saga hardcovers look nice on a shelf. More people should follow the current IDW series.

It’s very exciting seeing that set reprinted. Definitely something to look out for before it goes out of print.
@@witsendpod For sure! Such a good way to get the complete Fantagraphics volumes. I sprung for the hardcover, worth it!

So idw is reprinting the fantagraphics years as well?
Yes but not in the same order as the Fantagraphics books. Unlike Fantagraphics, the IDW versions will be in color.
