Sam and Al's Song - The Impossible Dream - Quantum Leap

- I was surprised to find that there were no Quantum Leap music videos using this song. Since Al called it his and Sam's song and since there were other Don Quixote references in the show and the lyrics fit so well and there's even a recording of Scott Bakula singing the song, I thought UA-cam would be full of videos like this.
The song is the final segment of "Medley From Man Of La Mancha from Catch a Falling Star" sung by Scott Bakula for the album called "Music from the Television Series Quantum Leap".

Scott played a different character each week. He touches the soul. Now that is a brilliant actor.

Catch a Falling Star was my first Quantum Leap episode. Never missed an episode after that. Scott Bakula was epic in that show.
I knew someone who was Scott Bakula's drama teacher in Jefferson County, Missouri he performed in musicals like Godspell. The teacher encouraged him to try his luck on Broadway and the rest is history.

I cant wait to see Scott sing live on Broadway in New York (February of 2024) . I have my tickets to the Connector at the MCC theater. New York and Mr. Bakula here I come . I'm so happy he is getting back on stage so I can at least see him perform live just once and mark that off my bucket list of things to do in this lifetime 🥰 I hope he will do more after this run (fingers crossed)
I just came back to this video after seeing his show at MCC tonight. It's very good.
I loved this show - it got into all the parts of our lives and made us look at them.. It is scary that it could not be made today... May God have mercy on our souls.
It would have been different if it was made today, at least. I remember being struck by how in the episode "Running for Honor", even though the show took a clear stance on the issue it was addressing, it was willing to give a fair hearing to the other side of the argument as well, even by going as far as to have a main character hold a conflicting viewpoint. Although I didn't think it fit Al's character particularly well for him to believe gay people shouldn't be allowed in the military, I appreciated what they were trying to do by having a main character represent the opposite side of the argument. Today on TV they simply dismiss non-PC viewpoints out of hand and demonize their proponents instead of exploring the issues in an honest, realistic way. That may be a good way to score points with people who already agree with you, but they're kidding themselves if they think that kind of one-sidedness is going to change anybody's mind. Silencing opinions you don't agree with doesn't make them go away, it just makes them fester and become more and more resentful.

Yeah, I was just thinking about that. I actually didn't like Al initially because of that, but then he grew on me. And as the show went on and his back story was introduced it was explained why he was the way he was and Sam balanced it out with his disapproval and his contrasting attitude. But these days people have become so black and white in their thinking about anything they perceive to be a "social justice" issue that the nuance would probably be lost on them. I'm all for encouraging men to be respectful to women, but they did that with Sam while also acknowledging that other kinds of people can exist without having to be demonised for their flaws.
Ah, Scott Bakula. So beautiful. He touches my heart from every angle.

He retired 2 strokes i believe he's in arizona with daughter .you should look up the art he's done it's amazing especially these dominoes he has .
