- Here's some of my best tips and tricks for Grubhub to maximize your earnings in 2022. On this channel, I share all kinds of tips for how to make more money on DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, Point Pickup, and more. After 1 year and over 1300 deliveries on GH, I've put them in the "time out" chair for a bit for so many of the reasons you've covered. Every since they were purchased it seems that the massive orders are decreasing and the wait times are increasing. Im hopeful that the upcoming driver app upgrades are going to help!
I was only activated on Grubhub for a week or two before everything started changing for the worse. I wish I could have experienced the better days before they were purchased

On my 4th day so far no problem made more than I thought tbh I think it’s all depends on the area…….
I’ve had to wait the most 7 minutes and gotten orders right away after than.
The restaurant’s are all really good with the system most I’ve waited for food was 3 minutes eh I use this as a side gig anyways so it might just be me lol
I'm brand new to GH, I did about 5 orders tonight and the food was ready the moment I got there, actually faster than DD. Yes what I'm noticing is they catch me 10 min before I get to the restaurant. They send me so many orders on my way to delivery giving the restaurant plenty of time to make the next order...worked good tonight...North FL here...

dude i was driving one day for grubhub and I accepted 2 order offer, I go to the first pick up and as I'm getting into the car for the next pick up Grubhub calls me and is like "Hi this is **** from Grubhub what is your status on ____ delivery..." im like... "uhh i just picked up the first order, I have another order to pick up..." he was like "well, do you think you will be there @ (whatever time)" .... im like "dude, i just picked up the order im driving right now to the other place, can't you see on GPS what's going on? I'm going as fast as i can, my GPS says (whatever time to get there)...." he was like ok, thanks, continue on your delivery. NGL kinda got me frustrated.

Happened to me too I think since April of 2023 they don't allow their dumbass computer workers to call you anymore for that reason
Before I realized GH sends the order immediately to the driver, I called support to explain to them there are a # of restaurants where the pick up times shud b extended by 20 mins or more. They told me that is the #1 complaint they rx from drivers. But there is nothing they can do. It comes from the top. It’s sad cuz GH is my fave app. But the volume differential is massive vs DD. So now I stay within a tight radius by my house and only do high payout, low distance orders on all apps. I significantly reduce my gas and mileage this way
The best way to get gh to change their ways, is for a large number of drivers to stop using their app. That will send them a message.

I called support several times about this issue , sent emails as well, support said they trying to improve and thanks for the feedback, it has been 2 years and they said the same.
I tend to get good orders while scheduled.
I'm working my way up to pro or premiere to get blocks during the week and to see if I get higher offers consistently.
I try and work gh 5-10pm without multi apping while in blocks. As you said the upfront pay is really nice and sometimes I get $20 trips for like 8 miles. With UE sometimes I get baited in with a $9 with tips but then end up not getting tipped doing so much driving and then get ticked off. But it is nice and does even out when I get the $11 with tips trips and end up getting $15. So idk...
I only multi app after 10pm with all 3. But UE gives me really bad trip offers sometimes like a string of em for $3 for 10 miles.
I'm not a GrubHub driver since I am in Canada and we don't have them here in Canada, however these are interesting tips. Horrible to know that they send the order to the driver first compared to the restaurant so you are sitting and waiting.
Yep I'm not a fan of having to wait extra long for Grubhub orders compared to the other companies
You are definitely right about GrubHub they take forever for their orders. Haven't seen the same for Uber eats or doordash

That would send a message, but I'm not sure if organizing a walk out of that size could work
I accepted a order and I drove 5 miles to pick it up and I had to walk two blocks away from the restaurant because it was downtown and the diner cancelled it and I didn't get compensated for the run 😒
What do you do while waiting for an order? Do you try to make some deliveries on another app while waiting?

@ 9 min. You talk about drivers unassigning orders. As someone who works in a restaurant, it is very annoying for drivers to come pick up the order, and then just unassign it simply because it isn't ready the moment they arrive. Then the order sits there waiting for another driver. It's not a perfect system, but its pretty solid.
Why don’t you try driving and let's see how you like sitting around waiting for food to be made while you’re not making any money.
I've never had to chat with support to mark a store closed all I do is take a picture of the closed business on the app and That's that.
Another feature grub hub needs to add is being able to add a photo that’s already saved. DD allows this and it comes in handy when your dropping off in an area where you don’t get service. Also the ability to complete the order when you are away from the drop off for the same reason.
Grubhub lets you mark as delivered when you are far away. You just have to mark "I have arrived at the location". When you try to mark it, a prompt shows up saying "It doesn't look like you are at the location, are you sure you are at the correct address?" Just say Yes. Works just fine. For the pictures you have a point though there is still no way to do that unfortunately. But it also doesn't FORCE you to take a picture so you could always just take the risk that the customer calls and says its a no show, but that's VERY rare as it is. A lot of houses near me don't even have a number on their door or anywhere I would take the picture. They have long driveways and the only number is on their mailbox at the start of the driveway. So a lot of times I don't even bother, but I also deliver in a really "rich" area so most people aren't going to call and bother reporting something as "missing" unless it actually is.
That's not totally true about the tips not being raised I've had about 7 of my customers increase the tip amount after completion of my delivery. So they do have the ability to tip you more.
The place and pay orders are freaking terrible. The only time I could see it being worthwhile is if it was on the other side of town so I can call it in. And theres no other orders.
The wait time is another big issue. I wait near restaurants with better paying orders and it’s awful walking in 2 minutes after they receive the order

That's interesting. It's called "Uber - Driver". It's the first app on the App Store for iPhone. Not sure about Android

Another thing that happened to me was I was new to GH and did my last delivery of the day and I forgot to swipe delivered and I didn't get paid for it
You should’ve called them. They can mark it delivered for you. Same thing happened to me. All the do is confirm with the customer then boom, paid.

Did my first ever Grubhub order it was 18 miles but 42.59 shit was so nice I don’t mind the drive for that much

Why can't they show the miles to the customer?? So angry. And the APP calls me with offers while I am driving. OMG. And I will never use that card don't even understand it. I am brand new.

One thing you didn’t mention that I don’t see ANYONE talking about regarding Grubhub is the fact that you can’t call or text the customer. Why am I not able to do this? And why has no one answered my question? I even asked Grubhub support and they ignored the question.
I have been able to contact the customer on Grubhub. The app is clunky so you may have to really search for it but I’ve called and texted quite a few customers. And yes, they’re support isn’t very helpful
You have to make sure your using the same phone number that is on your account. If it’s not the same phone number you have to go to the phone number to signed up with and change it to the phone your using to make drop offs.

Possibly. It’s complicated but they MIGHT choose to send less orders to drivers with lower acceptance rates

yes yes thank u do i email them or calll them because alot of the orders are low like $7 / $8 and than sometimes they go up and for grubhub how does the pay work is it correct that grubhub gets paid twice a weeek thank u for alll your help

I only use Grubhub to fill in gaps of time when DoorDash is doing their daily wave of shitty orders.
That makes sense especially because Grubhub is so unpredictable
I've never waited longer than ten minutes. I do a lot of place and pay orders. I call them and read the order. By the time I get there it's done. It also helps if the merchants like you.

They are hiding your completed deliveries now On the new app.. you won’t be able to see your completed delivery make it hard to trace
I have the new update. It looks like you can only view earnings up to 6 weeks in the past. Is this what you’re talking about?

I give Resturant’s 10 min tops then I’m out the door.
GH is the only platform I haven’t tried because of the horror stories I’ve heard. I’m so scared to accept an order from them 😬
It is scary to try out something new but I think you should do it on a really slow day or for an hour or two on a day when you wouldn’t ordinarily work

I don't believe DoorDash or Uber Eats require you to have their payment cards. They are optional and could lead to more orders

My tip is do not do grubhub in oregon we have bunch of illegal immigrants that use their friends and family ids to sign up for grubhub then they take all the orders so you be waiting like 2 hrs with no offers since they have too many drivers and less orders

I'm anxious to work for grub hub need new number if u put in wrong email your locker out .
Working for GrubHub in 2023 is a disaster the app doesn't work well and won't give a notification sound for the offers so you basically have to have the app open and stare at the screen for hours to be able to accept one. Never once have I got a good tip either doing over 400 deliveries. It's sad
Been working great for me through 2023. Still working pretty good. Just depends on your area. I live in a more middle of no where type spot and most people here have money so almost no one does food delivery gig jobs so I get pretty much work all day. And everything here is within 10-15 miles max and pretty much always at LEAST $1/mile. Which in the city, sucks terribly. But in the open roads? That's easy money. That's another thing to factor in, city vs highway/country roads and no traffic. People always think doing this job in the city is the best because of how many people order, but you also have to compete with a lot more drivers and tons more traffic and annoyances. It's all about location.
Everything is true. But the real thing is this. PLEASE DON'T TAKE ORDERS THAT PAID, $4.00 OR $5.00. Reasons. The dinner tip is shit. A lot of those are not even paying for the order nether tip. Many times they still the food and complained. Sometimes that will put your account on pause for ten days or more. SO PLEASE HELP YOUR SELF AND OTHER DRIVERS. DO NOT TAKE THOSE ORDERS. Also, gas prices are high, you need to put extra money for maintenance. If the order is not paying you at least $1.70 per mile, DO NOT TAKE IT! REMENBER MOST OF THE TIME YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE ORDER. When you have two orders at the same time, also, if they are not paying at least $16.00 DO NOT TAKE IT. Remember that means that if is less the orders are paying $7.00 each, or one of those less than $4.00. You gonna have to go to two restaurants, maybe wait half an hour or more, then go to two different address.
When you need help, do not call support. They suks!!! The call centers are in Asia or México, the worst call centers in the world. They will make you lost time, get frustrated and don't get paid.
