I don’t think I processed it until this video, but the album is definitely the musical depiction of crashing out. The rise, the euphoria, the CRASH and the aftermath. Beautifully done!
I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t like this album, one of my favorite releases of 2024. Kehlani proved her musicality with this album, it has a little something for everybody.
Iiiii felt this comment heavy , cuz I was not feelin it at first, but after taking my time with it and lettin the songs play I was like 👀👀👀👀👀👀 dammmmm kehlani go off!!
listening to that song (& the album) in public for the 1st time ever was a mistake 😭 i cant even begin to describe what kinda screeches i was making at some of those lyrics
To hear what Kehlani was making on “Blue Water Road” (specific standouts: little story, shooter interlude, altar, melt, wondering/wandering) and To hear her open “Crash” in this way … she opens up with alot of Power & Liberation in this. She’s kinda keeping up & tackling a lot of newer sounds and it sounds … absolutely Beautiful.
I swear chappel is like a “alright enough dancing bitch. Time to cry and heal” that shit HURT 😭 That aside I LOVE how experimental she was with this. Every song felt so heartfelt, fun, and emotional like she was introducing herself all over again. God. Love this album, best thing she’s put out since it was good til it wasn’t. Also I agree, Lose my wife could’ve been left out completely. Felt like that kinda messed up the ending tbh 😭
The way I view deep is after the crash of her lustful relationship she’s telling the girl “I never been a sorry bitch and I’m so so sorry for you” it’s like she doesn’t feel bad about her feelings towards certain emotions coming from the girl she was in the lustful relationship with. It’s like I’ve been through worse things than what you want me to feel bad about. It’s definitely a roller coaster because it starts very sexual and then the crash and tears is disregarding the deep emotions. I think chapel is where she love bombs again and ending with lose my wife is like “girl you know you’re mine”. It feels like this relationship they had is not that serious.
It does take me back to SweetSexySavage but with all the experience she’s gained from her past albums/projects , but it’s like a level up even thoooo it did take me a bit to get into the album but overall it’s a great album.
Personally, I think she’s had stronger albums like “it was all good until it wasn’t” to me.. was top tier. This was a good album but it took me a couple listens to get into the gig
@@MakaykayLAMB it's a grower to a lot of people. the production choice isn't everybody's favorite for the beginning for groovetheory. otherwise i seen a lot of good reviews for this album but a lot of my friends said it was def a grower for them, i like it though! what i want, 8 and sucia are my favorites but i like chapel, lose my wife and deep as well. if you try it out again you might like it more :) but ur opinion is yours so if you just dont like it or its not ur vibe thats fine too
@@MakaykayLAMBI disagree, the vocal arrangements, transitions and production was way better on Crash than Blue Water Road. I would even go as far as saying that Blue Water Road is her weakest album out all of the four. I feel like she tried the whisper/cursive singing technique that summer walker and sza were doing which to me didn’t work. The song “Everything” was the highlight of the album. “It was good until it wasn’t” is definitely my favorite from her so far tho.
She said that this album is like a story of the anti-hero version of themselves going on a wild ass trip to Vegas. For me this is my interpretation….it’s like depicting all the feelings you have when you’re crashing out or in love/falling in love with someone, “skeptical “What I Want” sexual, “8, Groove Theory.” territorial, “Better Not.” you’re drawn to them can’t get enough of them “Crash.” and then you do something crazy like “Chapel.” getting married, but then later on down the line when shit gets real y’all start arguing, realizing parts you never knew about each other, the ugly stuff……you fight and leave the house… you go out and make some wild crazy drunken decisions that make may you end up “Loosing Your Wife.” She said loose my wife is the come down song of the rest of the album.
I love this album!! Deep is actually one of my favourite songs so was surprised Zach wasn't into it but I do love a lot of alt r&b and it's in that pocket for me but that's the beauty of having an album with loads of different sounds. There is something for everyone, well done to Kehlani!!!
this is why i appreciate an album reaction, i can see it in a new light and enjoy it where i didn't before - like "Tears", helping me do a 180 on that track 📀
Hello. This is my first video seeing you and wow the respect you have saying hello to us 🫶🏽✨ I love how you actually listen to the whole song with us and not just skip through it’s nice that we actually get to listen to it together!! Definitely subscribing🫶🏽✨❤️ You’re energy is amazing too love it 😊.
something about her voice tell’s me she is a Brandy fan, i don’t follow her like that but the way she layers her vocals, the vibrato at times, and the way she does her runs
I loved this album so much! I wasn’t a big fan or her, but this album I had to get the vinyl! It was that good to me. I love Next 2 U, Crash, Sucia, Deep, Chapel, Vegas…really all of em 😅😅😵💫😵💫
when I first listened to this album, I did not like it. Listening to it again on this video, is definitely changing my mind about it. The first three songs are beautiful.😭
Zach you are the bestttt💅🏼💅🏼 I love your content and everything you post, and this album is everythingggg, but I am soo sad there was never a reaction to kehlanis previous album, blue water road, that is album is a masterpiece😢😢 it’s never too lateeeee

I WILL admit that I wasn’t excited for the album out of fear that it won’t live up to her other projects. Kehlani has mastered her sound to the point where it fits in ANY Genre. Love her ❤
Oms and is it bad that’s the only song I listen to from this album I done even learned how to sing the song I love 8 that much and the beat gives me that 90s feel also the vocals was hittin

Vegas was actually one of my faves from the first listen! Groove Theory, What I Want didn’t grow on me till the 2nd listen and Tears in the club till the 3rd
I was at a festival with my cousin and we decided to give it a listen when we were pre gaming 🍻 The first half FAB great, a whole vibe but then the last half got more personal.
This album is just too damn Sexy and real. The cohesion, production, and authenticity. There’s just something about these two part songs that it’s so fulfilling. It really takes you on a journey. No skips ❤
12:40 Oak worked with them at least since "Did I?" (as part of Pop & Oak). And I think had tracks on BWR, too? Yessir, them two make magic. Kehlani really pushing their limits...crazy that honestly "Lose My Wife" is one of my surprise faves. It feels like the after-after-after party, when you might regret the shenigans of the night. Or back in the late 90s where there would be a long pause and a hidden track.
“If you sneeze wrong Kehlani will TOP you” is CRAZYYYY🤣🤣🤣
Felt that. 😏
Imma running around asking "Do you wanna fuck me?!" all week!!!!
HONEY GET THE STRAP!!!
Honestly, but this on a hat or shirt and you got some collab merch I would cop.

The fact that Zach missed so many of these songs at the release party. He was havin' a TIME OK! 😂

My first thought reading the title was “Pls live for this like I do” praying I’m right 😭
Guurrrlllll, cus me too😭😭

i love that Lani knew people would either hate or love this album & did it anyway. they did it for themselves.
On sucia somebody said is kehlani walking me through it 😂😂

This album sounds like a breath of fresh air. The production & Kelani’s vocals are phenomenal 🫶🏾
TEARS is the bop of the album. And for some reason it reminds me of that “lady (hear me tonight) “ song
When I realized Zack said “ Sucka, sooza, sooka” and really meant “ Sucia” I hollered sooooooo loud omgggg lmfaoooooooo 😂😂😂😭😭😭😭😭
