"American Requiem {mass grave or burial}" funeral is laying to rest the past that we have suffered as a nation. "Black Bird" was written by Paul McCartney ( Beatles) during the 60's civil rights for Black Women. The extra vocals are 4 current young black female country singers that have all paid homage to Bey in their songs and or interviews. "Daughter" is following the don't mess with me vibe from "Jolene" and having fantasy's that she needs to ask forgiveness for that she then sings an Italian Opera (catholic). Then she followed it up with "Spaghettii" saying She's going to handle whatever comes her way. Willie Jones and Shaboozey are new age Black male country artist. Willie Nelson is a pioneer in folk country style music and is known for supporting and singing about unity. Post Malone is doing a country album too. "Oh Louisiana" is a sample from Chuck Berry. Linda Martell 1st Black female country artist to hit mainstream popularity and sing at the Grand Ole Opry. This album is so important for the culture, at least to this Black Nashville Native Girl!
Beyoncé's status as a cultural icon is undeniable. From her early days with Destiny's Child to her formidable solo career, she has consistently pushed the boundaries of music, fashion, and entertainment. Her powerful vocals, electrifying performances, and business acumen have made her a role model for aspiring artists worldwide. Beyoncé's influence extends beyond the stage; she's a philanthropist, advocate for women's rights, and a symbol of empowerment for many. Her ability to reinvent herself while staying true to her roots is just one of the many reasons she remains an enduring figure in the global pop culture landscape.

From the song The Linda Martell Show to the song Sweethoneybuckin' Beyonce is imagining an alternate universe where Linda Martell was allowed to be as successful as her white counterpart Willie and given her own show. And in this universe black country artists are allowed to experiment and have fun with the country music sound and aren't pushed away from it. In this universe genre isn't a limiting factor. It's like she's saying "this is what country music would sound like if people (black people) were allowed to take up space" on the album. This album is dense in American history. And the way American Requiem and Amen mirror each other is just so chef's kiss. This album is a Masterpiece!
I absolutely love the transition from bodyguard to dolly p to jolene. Whitney starred in the bodyguard which features the song I will always love you. Perfection!

I been saying BOUCE ON TS DANCE all weekend 😂 so fucking catchy. I think she should do an hour long Tiny Desk-ish vibe and release that. Live band and singers and intimate energy. Idk, that would make me die inside.
Every time I hear YA YA I keep telling the beyhive we need a tambourine line in the crowd. That’ll be a moment and we can see it go has the best line in each city
Yay finally it's here ❤ Obviously a master piece of an album! I really wish B did Album interviews (such as the apple album ones) because it would be so captivating to see her explain how her brain puts these albums together. But I know it's just a selfish wish 🥺 I'm just here to enjoy amazing music!
COWBOY CARTER is most definitely her best work! Its just unlike anything that we’ve heard before. this had me second guess RENAISSANCE for a while. the album is so rich in storytelling with sounds of traditional, modern, and alternate country. but at the same time, this is a BEYONCÉ ALBUM!!! this is how music is supposed to feel!! i’m just in complete awe of this body of work. I’m so scared of ACT III.
I like how Zach didn't even bother asking at the start of this video whether the album will be a bop or a flop. Because we been knew before the album came out, that Cowboy Carter was going to EAT!!!
This album has brought me to a place spiritually that I haven't felt connected to in a LONG time. "Just for fun" right now is my ROCK and "protector" is like a song to the little girl in me 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷 then "bodyguard" brings me all the good Cali rock vibes I grew up with. Thank you Miss Beyonce 🥹🥲😍
As a Dominican who is not familiar with country music other than a few Dolly Parton songs, I think she did a wonderful job of introducing me to the essence of it. She also allowed herself to experiment with the genre and presented us her own interpretation of it. This really is a masterpiece, y'all 🔟🔟🔟
Zach's reaction matches everything I felt in the car. This isn't a country album, THIS IS AN AMERICAN ALBUM. this is our country played through historical musical BLACK art, while paying homage to the greats. It's cinematic, storytelling, faith based , family oriented, danceable, feminine. Album of the year isn't enough. She doesn't need it honestly becuz the Grammys doesn't deserve her Sed what I sed. Luv Zach
I appreciate that you said this isn’t an album to just listen to and gag, you have to really digest the record and that’ll take months coz there’s so much to appreciate. 🥺
She is in her Michael Jordan era. This album was so different and complex, and multi-layered. I was overwhelmed LOL. The last album that made me feel like that was To Pimp a Butterfly (Kendrick Lamar). It’s brilliant. It’s disruptive. It’s challenging the status quo and inviting us to explore. And it gets better with every listen.
I am so impressed with this and this is from an extremely casual fan. I used to think she was overrated, I seriously can no longer say this . Mama really laid it out . I can admit I was late to the party
This album was absolutely amazing! Renaissance was a lot to live up to, but Cowboy Carter, it took the cake as my favorite Beyonce album! Favorite Tracks: Requiem, Blackbiird, Bodyguard, Ya-ya, Daughter, Tyrant, Jolene, Buckin, ii Most Wanted, Spaghettii, 16 & Texas.
@@robbyhenderson3909 I think that makes sense, because I think her work was a lot more commercial prior to the Lemonade era. And I say this is a person who grew up on Destiny’s Child and Beyoncé’s solo discography. I feel like all the projects she’s released from that era are deeply personal, and have a level of craftsmanship in her artistry that I don’t see other artist doing much these days? But also that I felt like I hadn’t seen from her at this level prior to that era. I love that the older she gets the more personal, complex, and rich her artistry gets. Some people rest on their laurels, but Beyoncé does not. It’s one of the best things about her as an artist imo.
Ya Ya is my number one favorite because it gave me music before it got seperated. I went through so many decades in that one song. Jolene is second because I honestly sat in my car thinking "Dolly was talking like this?!?" And then I realized the lyrics were different but it sounds like the original (conent). That's magic to me. I'm not a big Beyonce fan but she gave me silence. peace. life.

Beyonce is so talented! THIS ALBUM IS A masterpiece ✨️ 🙌🏾
This is the best reaction. I expected nothing more from you. THANK YOU!!!
I absolutely agree, BEST VOCALLY PRODUCED ALBUM SINCE 4 🙌🏽🔥
I been saying BOUCE ON TS DANCE all weekend 😂 so fucking catchy. I think she should do an hour long Tiny Desk-ish vibe and release that. Live band and singers and intimate energy. Idk, that would make me die inside.
NO HANDS 👅
That’s an amazing idea, I would love that.
Poor Jolene been getting fucked up for 50 years 😂😂😂😂
Lmaooo
she a scallywag, she deserves 🤣
Nah, just recent. The others have begged her, not Beyonce
I LITERALLY HAVE BEEN CHECKING UA-cam EVERY MINUTE WAITING TO SEE WHEN YOU DROP YOUR REVIEW!!!
Every time I hear YA YA I keep telling the beyhive we need a tambourine line in the crowd. That’ll be a moment and we can see it go has the best line in each city
Yea I’m glad i subscribed to Patreon for this one cuz this album commentary needs to be heard in full!
Yay finally it's here ❤
Obviously a master piece of an album! I really wish B did Album interviews (such as the apple album ones) because it would be so captivating to see her explain how her brain puts these albums together. But I know it's just a selfish wish 🥺 I'm just here to enjoy amazing music!
Miley and Beyonce duo is my favourite! Deserves grammys ❤
Yesssss🥹🥹🥹🥹
Yes!
Yes!
Was so waiting for this one! Yes 🙌
The pure genius of this album. My heart is so full. The vocals are heavenly 😢😊
She doesn't need it honestly becuz the Grammys doesn't deserve her
Sed what I sed. Luv Zach
This reaction is giving me LIFE!! Best one I've seen 😂😂 luv from 🇬🇧
The ONE review I’ve been waiting for.
I appreciate that you said this isn’t an album to just listen to and gag, you have to really digest the record and that’ll take months coz there’s so much to appreciate. 🥺
Spaghettii starts at 19:35 ✌️
Ya Ya starts at 27:45 🤠
You be in the reviews. 🫡 A real one!
Thank you post the entire thing for us I'll subscribe for that
You get it 🤭🙌🏾
U ate
A man of the people 🫱🏽🫲🏾
Beyonce made my whole year with this album! It feels so complete and blessed! Bless Beyonce!
Happy Easter, and the songs on here are a BOP.
My Fav songs:
Bodyguard, spaghetti , Jolie and Tyranum.
I’m hearing rumors of her touring and I’m trying to get mentally prepared for securing a ticket😂
I am so impressed with this and this is from an extremely casual fan. I used to think she was overrated, I seriously can no longer say this . Mama really laid it out . I can admit I was late to the party
This album was a literal masterpiece no other words like I’ve been playing it straight through ever since it dropped
I love the whole album!!!!! but Renaissance will always have a special place in my heart ❤
I have been patiently waiting for these reactions
“You need to take a shower before you get on this record.” 💀💀💀
Also the DREAMGIRLS REFERENCE GOT MEEEE I LOVE YAYA FOR THAT
I had to replay II MOST WANTED at least 3 times on the first listen. I couldn’t get past how good it is and how happy I was for Miley 😭🥰🥰🥰🤩
This album has been so healing and fun, already... I love it. YA YA YA YA
can we talk about how Amen rolling back into American Requiem is NASTY WORK! so much to say and i will on my podcast - i refuse :)
YOU’RE SOOOO REAL ABOUT THIS BEING VOCALLY SUPERIOR THAN 4 AS A HUGE 4 STAN
BODYGUARD is the HEART of this Album FIGHT ME followed by the Miley Song ❤
LITERALLY THE HEART BEAT❤
It's time for a third category. BOP FLOP and ICONIC
I one thousand percent agree!!!! Best body of work and the artistry is so divine! Loved seeing you live it just as much as I do!
i have been waiting for this reaction...turn it up..here she goooo..here she go!!!!!!!!
II Most Wanted really got me into karaoke mode again 😭 too good
This is the review I was waiting for !!!
And how this album transitions into the Renaissance album flawless
This album was absolutely amazing!
Renaissance was a lot to live up to, but Cowboy Carter, it took the cake as my favorite Beyonce album!
Favorite Tracks: Requiem, Blackbiird, Bodyguard, Ya-ya, Daughter, Tyrant, Jolene, Buckin, ii Most Wanted, Spaghettii, 16 & Texas.
I’m not the biggest Beyonce fan and I don’t like country music, so why in the hell did I love this album so fucking much.
That’s the Beyoncé effect
@@roger9283 I’m not big on basically anything before lemonade. Some songs are great but she’s just never been my favorite.
Same...I was changed after I heard this album
LET'S GET INTO IT ZACHARY!!!!!
YA YA AND RIIVERDANCE I CANT WAIT to hear LIVE on tour! I hope she sings II MOST WANTED AND BRINGS MILEY OUT
Ya Ya is my number one favorite because it gave me music before it got seperated. I went through so many decades in that one song. Jolene is second because I honestly sat in my car thinking "Dolly was talking like this?!?" And then I realized the lyrics were different but it sounds like the original (conent). That's magic to me. I'm not a big Beyonce fan but she gave me silence. peace. life.
I sat back, and drank my cocktail while listening. This album is the mf sh-t. I sang in church since I was three. This took me home baby.❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
I alwaysssss wait for u to upload so I was excited to see this, but ur reaction is my exact reaction, Ms. Honey Bey really outdid herself with this album.. as expected. I really have no words
My second favorite album after lemonade. I have listened to it at least 10 times. My whole family is obsessed.
24:00 i said the same thing right away... instant classic - weddings, funerals, graduations!
I've been waiting to see your reaction! 😂 She is #INSANE!
Bodyguard is SO PHENOMENAL.
