As far as pricing, I always skip tables that don't have prices, can't speak for anyone else

    1) Get a sales tax certificate. You are running a business the minute you got a table. I know no one wants to pay sales tax but it is a finable offense. 1,000 plus cost of prosecution and up to one year, and no the "I didn't know defense" won't work. Bigger shows won't even give you a table without one. 2) Better get some showcases. Loose cards get stolen. Remember the best shoplifters are 12 year old kids. They will get you talking and looking at something while a friend is stealing you blind. Plus they know they won't get prosecuted if they get caught.

I skip by table that don't have prices on every card. Especially the large shows. I just don't have the energy to ask about every card I am interested in.

Prices on your items is good, it starts a conversation, when I walk buy I might look at or ask on a card based of the price. It’s also just a starting point. Don’t have to stick to all your prices if you get asked on a card that you have priced and realize you haven’t checked comps on that one in a while there is no issue with going through and re pricing your cards if you want to keep up with the current sales/values.

Thank you. I'm a smaller version of what you guys are doing. Haven't done my first show yet. Just started in 2023.
    Good luck. I'll keep watching

I did my first show in October. Sold a ton of value cards at 1,2 and 5 dollar and slabs under $30. I was fortunate to unload 2 big cards that may it well worth settling up. Next show im going to dump my junk slabs with a "pay the grade" price..PSA 8=$8... worth a shot lol. I priced all of cards...time consuming but worth the time.

My local cardshow in Southwestern VA charges $50 a table. I attended the December show not expecting much as many regular vendors told me during the November show that they likely wouldn’t set up. I still attended and to my surprise the December show had more vendors and attendees than usually. It turned out to be a solid show. Maybe…we have hobby folk have December wrong.

The slab trend is definitely going down. Collectors like young kids and older gen are not interested in the monetary value of their cards. It’s the greedy non traditional collectors who are in for the money or the gambling aspect care more about PSA or Beckett slabs. I’ve been collecting since the 80’s and have no interest in slabs or the arbitrary number someone assigns to them just to make them more valuable. That’s why companies like PSA are advertising all these “new deals” and gimmicks to get people excited about them again. It’s a waste of time and money. The worst is eBay’s authentication guarantee “service”. Talk about a waste! I’ve been on eBay for over 25 years and this is by far the absolute stupidest thing they’ve ever done! I keep telling them they need to make this service an option for the buyers. Not a mandatory thing for both sellers and buyers. So far they haven’t listened lol. Great video though! Keep up the content and don’t let these big commercial companies corrupt you.

It seems crazy to me how (at least at my first card show attending; The National 2024 in Cleveland) that the first day was insane, but the last day on Sunday was sooooo dead. The deals were CRAZY you could find on the last day. I'd have thought the last day would be the busiest for that fact, but maybe the logic of most buyers is all the good deals/cards are already gone? (Which isn't true)

Business? It matters not how much you sold, but rather how much did you make on that 400? Gas? Lunch?? Value of your time? I find best part of tables at shows is buying cards. I take a showcase, throw cash in it and have a sign.

I would say there are some benefits of getting into the hobby now than at the height of the pandemic. Many card prices were outrageous and unrealistic. There are plenty of affordable cards with pretty good opportunity for, the long term. Just my 2 cents.
