All excellent recommendations, as always! So happy to see some wines I’ve enjoyed in recent past: Ornellaia La Volte Dell' Ornellaia, Produttori del Barbaresco Langhe Nebbiolo, and Marques de Murrieta Finca Ygay Rioja Reserva. I really enjoyed those three! However, the prices here of La Volte Dell' Ornellaia and Finca Ygay Rioja Reserva are more like the equivalent of $40 to $50. The Produttori Langhe Nebbiolo - I tasted in Piedmont; not available in my city. Also love their flagship wine! I did a quick search for Château Lilian Ladouys and I found one cellar selling it for around $36. You know Saint-Estèphe is my second favorite appellation in Bordeaux-Left Bank so I really must get this wine. There’s Chateau Laroque in three shops but the prices range from $60 to $76. I’ll try to search for the others, too! Need more white wine options for everyday drinking so I think Tyrell's Hunter Valley Semillon will soon be in my wine fridge. Diatom isn’t available here for sure, but I’ll see if I can find the others! Thank you for always helping us find the best wines in every price category. Your recommendations are always much trusted and appreciated. Cheers and happy weekend, John!

You and your viewers ( me included ) love this format of show. I know you could recommend dozens and dozens of wines more, but I would like to add a few if I may. Yesterday I had the 2018 Domaine De Chevalier ( that I particularly LOVE) and I also opened the 2018 L Esprit De Chevalier ( their second wine). I was tasting side by side and of course the DC was better, but not that much. L Esprit is in the $28-$32 and its a killer wine. CS Substance from WA State and $15 is an overachiever. Last but not least I also like a lot good years of Faustino I Gran Reserva at $25 give or take. Congrats on your 10,000 subscribers, it seems like yesterday when you had a few dozen subscribers as I was one of them ! Now lets aim for 100,000 !!!!!

Smith Haut Lafitte Le Petit(for the same reason. I like Graves). But only recently(2019 & 22), because I find most 2NDs disappointing in Quality-to-Price Ratio(sorry, Atty Somm)
I also like Chevalier(better QPR than Pape Clement). I took a flyer on a few bottles of 2020 Substance Chardonnay(because I like Sixto), for $10, because... every so often...
Faustino I G.R. 2006 about 3 years ago.. Only about 92 points, BUT, 96 Points with some Basque food(Sweetbreads & Oxtail soup). It was spectacular!

Another great video. The ‘18 and ‘19 Lilian Ladouys was one of our favorite weekend wines for a long time. The ‘19 needed a few hours in the decanter. The ‘18 was very approachable, but not as complex. We also have the ‘20 in the cellar. We have yet to try it, but it sounds like we won’t be disappointed!
Wanted to mention a budget find we recently had from Maipo Valley, Chile, the ‘20 Vistamar Cabernet Sauvignon - Syrah Reserva. At first it was very tannic and quite austere. However after 3.5 hrs in the decanter it showed nice depth and hit well above it’s price point. It displayed hints of chocolate and tobacco on the nose with black fruit flavors and a pronounced, interesting finish. The experience made us want to pay more attention to Chilean reds.

Had the 2016 Lilian Ladouys a few months back. It was rather funky(90-91 points). Based on this bottle, I'll hold my other bottle until 2026-29. I kept hearing the "fruit forward" notes, like the recent Lafon Rochet & better recent quality of Phelan Segur. Haven't tried any others yet, based on the longer drinking windows of St Estephe(not one of my preferred appellations due to the high tannic structure. Howell Mtn in Napa comes to mind).
I find Chilean reds to have a Green profile like Chinons. Don Melchor, for instance. Suckling seems to like that flavor.

Another good video and one that is nearer my price range. Cru Bourgeois, some right bank clarets, Rioja and Langhe Nebbiolo still represent great value, imho. Languedoc, Southern Rhone, Alsace and Loire Valley in France, and Puglia and Sicily in Italy offer some bargains as well. German pinot noir is generally pretty good and decent value. I also love Cru Beaujolais from decent vintages, especially with a bit of bottle age.
Having said all that my choice this weekend is a fabulous Santenay Premier Cru, 2013, from Vincent. I have half a case of his 2015, which I shall take delivery of next year.

Tyrrells has 3 single vineyard semillons that’s a tiny bit more expensive but tastes much more concentrated. My preference: Belford, HVD and Stevens. Vintage wise they are quite consistent but avoid 2020, 2016, 2015 and 2012. Laroque was the first wow wine for me, and how I got to know this channel! Most of these value wines are much more expensive in Australia, the 2020 Laroque is sold for roughly $us 60🥲
