This was well made. The narrative and the still images mesh together quite well. Seeing the faces of people from a century ago now stirs my heart with wonder. Thanks for this. ❤

I love the fashions from the 1920's especially the evening gowns made of silk

Hollywood was and remains a moral cesspool.- Hunter S. Thompson

In regard to Linder, it seems like a great depression gripped him. The " Lion& Cigarette "scene was particularly well-done

Famous Deaths Of The 1920s (Part 4) 0318am 9.8.24 though imagine if your death was more memorable than the life you lived. it'd make a great film......................................................... imagine seeing charlie chaplin walking down the high street of your local city centre. ummmmmmmmmmm..... how much time would be required to pass before it made some inroads on your psyche?

Pregnancy today isn’t allowed to go beyond 42 weeks, in the US you will be induced to avoid infection, but back then a pregnancy could last 10 to 11 months if the baby didn’t naturally decide to come out before then. Say that to say Max Linder could have been a daddy on his wedding night.

I could see a few extra weeks, but 10 or 11 months? That seems dangerous and ridiculous.

"Sunset Boulevard" was more of a documentary than a good story.

I always thought the death of silent film actress, Lucille Ricksen was particularly tragic. She was only 14.

Famous Deaths Of The 1920s (Part 4) 0306am 9.8.24 the people featured in the imagery for this skit look completely knackered (ie: tired). if i wasn't as tired as they seem then i would go seek out the films released during the introduction of the talkie, wherein old timey actors and actresses acted in the manner of the silent movie..... though obviously, the verbiage, ie: their lines, could be discerned. i can't imagine all thespians were well versed in the nature of the talkie - in that outward expressions of arch emotion were little required when one could speak and be heard..................................................................................................................................................................................... p.s where one sentence would do 40 years of mime ensued. imagine that, one sentence being worth 40 years of bemused tedium (ie: mime).

I found out about her, reading a very good about silent female stars in 2014. That is sad, rumors circulated then and now, she died either from TB, exhaustion, or a botched abortion. I certainly hope it was not a botched abortion. That is sick the way the studio had her in adult roles.

Morphine is one powerful pain killer. I was given Morphine after my partial hysterectomy. Once a person becomes addicted , it is called "morphisim."

Sounds like Read died from pneumonia. weight loss comes from pneumonia not morphine if anything you will gain weight from morphine if taken everyday for chronic pain. also chronic pain changes your mood more than morphine there were no drugs for pneumonia back then also i deal with chronic pain and the only thing im addicted to is not being in pain maybe he was too

Famous Deaths Of The 1920s (Part 4) 0315am 9.8.24 i need to get me some pneumonia for a week.... ie: i need to lose some weight. the hollywood vice den seems fun for a while.... probably a difficult situation to divest yourself of - especially if those supplying the hedonism are making a great deal of money.
