The Climb to Kime

This video is of a tramping trip into the Tararua Ranges, back in August of 1982. The video footage taken from my collection of Super 8 silent film.
Our party of four were Myself, my two sons, Brett and Ricky and a friend and work colleague, Grant Chalk.
It was a three day trip. Friday, August 5th to Field Hut, where it was a very cold night. Saturday Chalky, Brett and Myself pushed on to Kime Hut for lunch, then back to Field Hut for another chilly night. On Sunday the 7th we headed back to the carpark, to find Grants car had been stolen.
The animated maps were created using a very simple and free, program called Route Generator.

Quite an adventure! Loved the animaton 🙂 Not great re Grants car! Any remants to be seen of the tramways in the Forks area?

Not on this trip, but I am working on one that has a couple of items showing abandoned on the trip to the Waitewaewae Hut. Also I do have another later one, but much the same stuff {Not much at all really}
