    How’s snowflake as a career and expected salary packages in the industry bro

    • @DataEngineering
      @DataEngineering  3 роки тому +1

      Hi @ Abdullah Siddique, the demand for snowflake practitioners is growing and will continue to grow as there is no close competitor of snowflakes as of today. As far as salary is concerned, it falls under big data and cloud data warehouse technology space, and people are making a good amount of money, however, just knowing snowflakes is not sufficient. Folks should learn the data warehouse as a domain alongside snowflake.

    In the diagram, you have shown Azure Blob to Snowflake with Copy Command. But in the architecture video #2, copy command is shown with GCP. I think, this one is correct.

    • @DataEngineering

      copy command works on external stage. The external stage can be created on any cloud object storage, be it S3 or Azure Blob or GCP. The picture is a just a representation how this integration can be done.

    Your videos helped me a lot to learn Snowflake and to clear snowflake snowpro.
    I have a doubt here please correct me if i am wrong. As per my understanding Periodic rekeying/key rotation is available in enterprise and above editions.
    Also please let me know how to enable this feature.

    • @DataEngineering
      @DataEngineering  3 роки тому +1

      Very interesting question @Tanaya Mandal and yes rekeying is possible only with enterprise and above editions.
      Refer to the feature link here.
      docs.snowflake.com/en/user-guide/intro-editions.html#security-governance-data-protection
      On your 2nd question, I personally have never done any rekeying. Most of the enterprise-grade application I have worked, it is already done by Snowflake team + clients. However, just to guide you, if you are using your specific encryption for a staging area, when you create a stage, you can give the key with an SQL statement.
      Other keys appear at root level followed by account level followed by table level followed by file-level and it can also be done using SQL statement.
      ALTER ACCOUNT SET PERIODIC_DATA_REKEYING = true;
      Thanks again and this looks like an interesting area for me to explore and maybe create video content around it.

We have a global snowflake infra, hosting all regions data, since we provision another account in selected regions, we would like to just replicate database schema specific for each region.
