    Dude!
    I am so grateful!
    Best video on this machine and the only one without massive holes in the processes!

    You're a legend mate, this gave me the confidence to change the drum bearing myself. Cost me $5...

    Thanks very much for your excellent video. Extremely clear instructions which made things easy to figure out. All set for another 15 years of drying clothes.

    This video is Fantastic!! Very clear and easy to follow. I am still having an issue with my dryer as the nut that secures the bearing to the centre of the drum keeps loosening when I turn the dryer on. I have some photos of the bearingS. Would I be able to send you the pic so you can hopefully help me solve the issue pls? My diagnosis is that one of the bearings are worn and after watching your video I would have to use the adhesive threadlock.

    Greetings from New Zealand. Great detailed video. Question: How do you replace the door switch? Mine just broke (after 35 years of use)

    Thanks for this - Just replaced the bearing and moisture sensor on my F&P dryer. Hardest part was getting and replacing the dryer from the wall hanger!

    Good stuff! Always pleasing when a major rebuild like this works out in the end! Hilarious out takes! I have things like that happen often!

      Machine Man Thanks! Luckily for me, I stopped the video once I finished the rebuild... I actually forgot to plug the motor back in. I had to take the back panel off again to figure out what was going on. Apart from that, all went well and it's still humming along :)

      @@EnergyFabricator Hi I've got the same dryer and when i close the door it doesn't beep to signal it's locked. So the dryer thinks it's still open and it keeps beeping when i press the start button. Could you please help me on this one. Cheers.

    Hi mate, if I’m only changing the bearing, do I need to support the drum or will it stay in situ while I’m swapping out the assembly?
    Thanks

    Nice work. Those motor mount clips are tough. stumbled on your plumbers wrench solution, was also wondering if assembly is easier while motor mount brackets are out of the machine directly onto the brackets or after the brackets are mounted in place on to the side walls as you did in the video.. Brilliant job. great help

    HI i have the same dryer and the drum moves freely when i put my hands inside to check the drum. its like it is unbalanced. i have noticed the retaining ring at the bottom has started to shread. Is this a possible bearing issue?

    great video thanks. Took a while to find an Australian one all seems to be USA brands and models. You explained it all very well. Put a new bearing in mine and so far so good it's working again.

      Great work! If all goes well, you should get at least another 5 years service...

    Excellent video! I've just replaced my capacitor but it looks like that wasn't the issue. I get power to the machine but there is no hum. I press start and it beeps once and the light goes solid but no action or sound. The door sensor seems fine. Can you think of what else it could be?

      I know this reply is way late but others might find it useful. Your problem might be that the door is a little warped and the tongue that goes into the kill switch isn't going in all the way. try pushing the door at the top as you hit the start button. If it starts, just open the door and flex bend it back into shape. Easy fix :)

    You should do a washing machine one? Whats your brand of washing machine.

    • @EnergyFabricator

      I reeeaaaaaally don't like taking washing machines apart!
      They take forever to dismantle. Not worth my time.... and my washing machine died last year, so I'm using my mother-in-law's machine at the moment. I don't think she would appreciate me taking it apart. Sorry!

      If the belt is still intact and the drum spins freely when spun by hand (no worn bearing noises), it is probably the motor start capacitor. Replace it!

    • @lukekneebone9831
      @lukekneebone9831 7 років тому

      Fixed last year, orginally i thought it was the belt or if i put too much stuff in but it got fixed last year. How come you've got inverted panel when the dryer is orginally on the floor??? lol.

    • @EnergyFabricator
      @EnergyFabricator  7 років тому

      The panel is upside down because it was wall mounted in my last house. Now it is sitting on the floor, but it works just the same.
