I’ve had one since 2007. Three trans Europe trips, each lasting a month, shipping a family of six. A flawed but awesome beast, outrageous comfort pace and storage. Expensive to run. Rare and special. I love mine . It’s never going to be sold, it’s just too good.
Why is it expensive to run? I’m in the states so we don’t pay annual taxes on our cars. Instead, each state requires you renew your license plate sticker which can cost $25 in a republican state like Kansas and $150 in a democrat state like Illinois.
My dad bought a 2006 R320 Diesel back in 2012. As a 4 people family that thing was a dream and a doom. It was no doubt the most comfy car I sat in and as a family that drove from Germany to Croatia every year and to Macedonia sometimes (a 2000km drive) it was compared to the 2000 ML 320 or the 2013 C180 a real dream. You just sat in the middle row like a king. BUT that thing had some real issues at least for us. On a drive to Croatia the car went into limp mode. Waited for 8 hours for it to be fixed in the middle of Austria (I think it we paid around 3,5k for a EMS change) just for it to break down in Croatia again because of a particle filter. We did get a loan car paid by our insurance and the car was sent back to Germany to be fixed. Forward 3years and the Air-Matic had a compressor issue. Fixed it and sold it. But the Air-Matic has always been known to break down so it was a matter of time for that to happen.
Brilliant car. Mine is a 2007 R320 and it has been outstanding in the 5 years I’ve owned it. It has 200.000km on the clock and looks almost brand new inside. Cheap on fuel, pulls like a train an eats long stretches of road for breakfast. Build quality is outstanding, and it looks a bit odd witch i like. As long as you maintain it properly it’s not going to let you down. Only buy one that has been maintained according to the factory program. This car is like an S class wagon, comfortable as hell and can carry 4 adults and two children in comfort for long periods of time. If you want one, buy one!
We have a 2007 R350 that we bought new. What you said is spot on, nobody really knows what it is, you won't see another one sitting next to you stopped at red light. No major issues and it now has nearly 200K miles. Quiet, comfortable and it will get up and go when I make it go. Perfect road trip car.
When we had our third child my wife and I needed a bigger car than our 9-5 so we got a 2006 in 2009. Still have it because there is really nothing else like it.
My car service in Chicago used this car to transport us from O Hare to downtown . Since there were only 2 or 3 of us , plenty of room in the boot for bags. The ride and “ quiet “ was fantastic. Much better than a Suburban. The owner got great fuel efficiency. I really thought about buying one based on my experience. The problem was there were no used models available at an affordable price in the US. If I were in the UK would seriously consider a diesel with 100k that had been serviced.
I love the Rclass. But I also am a middle aged American that has always been in love with the “mini van” era. I would buy one if I had the opportunity.

I was once told by a Mercedes dealer that the reason they had electrical issues at that time was because they bought in items like wiring looms ready made offshore from companies with little experience in order to save money.
I drove the Chrysler Pacifica (a US version of the R Class, Daimler/Chrysler joint venture). 4 litre straight six producing 253 BHP, it was lots of fun, very comfortable, and very fast, 140 mph +.
Recently bought a low mileage 2008 R350 4matic long wheelbase These are a great lifestyle car... Cheap to buy....large and luxurious middle row and very versatile for throwing in bikes, running gear and so forth And with 280hp, they are effortless on the motorway. Very happy with it and how it offers space, comfort and versatility for daily use and trips out to runs, rides and triathlons etc.
Very interesting, especially as they are 4WD. Captain's chairs are nice, too. Just goes to show that the formula for many of the current high-end SUVs is not new. Thanks.
I'd definitely recommend one of these if it has the 3.5 petrol V6. That's the same engine as pretty much the rest of Mercedes lineup. The ML, E class, E class, C class. Apart from the balance shaft failing, there aren't many issues that I know of with those.
I have one here in South Carolina. It's like a limousine. Great on the Interstate. Mine can seat 7. When you fold down the back row then you have enough cargo space for 4 going on vacation for a week at the beach. Handles great in the mountain roads too. I love having a car that few others have. I bought mine, a 2009 R350 with 96,000 miles for under $11K. Hope to keep it for a while

Thank you, a fair description of my car. This car is very special, ideal if you like to travel in comfort. Spain is a big country. (Bigger than what looks in maps). Very often, one says "I'll go from Seville to Valencia" And you calculate a few hours..!!!.. Soon you discover that you need a car like this, since more often than not one needs to rest during your journey and nearly always you need to stay overnight in a hotel... Then one needs a car like this, very spacious to carry your suitcases, very spacious to travel with a couple of friends not necessarily having to be on top of each other. If you travel with your maid she/he can carry her/his things at the back, next to one's doggy and picnic case.. Etc... In summary, if you like to travel in style this is your car. Specially if you like living in style, instead of taking a flight from Seville to Valencia. Thank you Sir, I really enjoyed your video..

Its that smooth! Not gonna lie but that E class was also really comfortable but damn the r class is on another level!
These were made for the U.S. market but I agree with your conclusions. Our friends in Canada have one and they love it .. and cannot find a suitable replacement.
My wife absolutely loves hers. She has all the bells and whistles. Never had any SERIOUS problems with it yet. I had to replace a blown break line and the motor in the hatch for the back door fried so gotta replace that too. The electronics in it are kind of crap but the mechanics are outstanding
Mate, you give hope to those wandering about their assets. I drive an ML 270 CDI , now thanks to your vids, i know is not crap at all. Cheers, keep it up. I have came across R class before and that was a not known Letter (Class) at all, no wonder now.
@@HighPeakAutos I see. Very clever. 👍 Those things are definitely rare. I do live in Waterford, Ireland which isn't exactly car Mecca but I've never seen one. Only 4 currently for sale on one major site.
Damn Matt, you're getting better and better. I've now watched all your videos and am a fan, nice to see level headed reviews of normal, more attainable cars now and again, I also like the variety and quirky ones like R Class. This kind of mix appeals to all of us petrolheads who like to peruse AutoTrader regularly. I like your chilled approach just don't skip on the key technical points like power, torque (in lb/ft), 0-60 (not 0-62) and real world mpg. Generally, a bit of history of the model wound't go amiss and some general impressions of the steering, brakes and suspension that you feel are worth mentioning, maybe add in some "quirks and features" that stand out, we won't tell Doug De Muro if you don't... :-D You already have your own free-flowing style but establishing some sort of structure to relate to would be a good next step. As a side note: A cool idea that I thought would work on your channel is reviewing every generation of the 3 Series, could be built over time and labelled as a series, something like "The 3 Series Series" All generations of the 3 Series are compelling cars, E21, E30, E36, E46, E90, F30, G20 in all their variants, and what better excuse to experience them all. This would appeal to all from classic enthusiasts to those interested in cheapo used and even those who want more recent great value reliable motoring like the F30 variants.
Your so right with the R Class,I owned a 3l model ,pure luxury but I lived of the brink of a nervous breakdown with it,my wife used the car to do the school run and I used to dread her calling me before 9,just expecting and conversation starting with"theres something wrong with the car",it was nice when it worked but to be honest there is much better out there.
This review is absolutely spot on , I Had one and trust me when the reviews say they are unreliable, THEY are unreliable , not the engine it’s electrical , suspension and Mercedes just don’t want to know, I was left stranded on 4 occasions , one when going on holiday and had to get a taxi to collect me, the problem I had I loved the car !!!
@@diyguy928 Hey yea it's a great car, luxurious, spacious, practical & powerful, Perfect for my family of 5. But yes it has a few issues that require some thousands to fix, but I don't mind spending a bit of money on it, because the way I see it is, when we decided we needed a 7 seater, we could have gone & got a 40-50K loan & bought a something newer like a CX9. But we bought the R320 for 16K. & it does exactly the same thing as a 50K new 7 seater can do. & it's also So much better than any other 7 seater in the same price range & age. So I don't mind spending some thousands on it to fix a few things. The main issues I've had is the Transfer Case chain stretched & tensioner broke, requiring a rebuild & repairs. The oil cooler in the valley of the V6 is leaking oil down out the back of the engine (looks like a rear main oil seal leaking, but its not), requires a big job to fix it, its not major, but annoying. & Drivers electric window button set needs replacement, buttons broken & come off. The expanding spare tyre is useless. Removed it & just use the best Slime flat tyre pump kit in case of a flat.
@@plve82 Wish I would've seen this earlier b4 I tried to go on a road trip. Long story short spare tire was useless. Left me stranded on a major highway

@@timothyandrews5975 well yea I bought it. Got it home took it to the garage. Needed new injector seals and clamps and replaced 4 injectors it had a fuel leak on the way home. Went into limp mode. Dealer passed the buck with the warranty. Usual dealer lies. It was at the garage for 7 weeks being fixed. Fuel was all over the wiring harness but it came home last week. Sat on my drive. It passed the MOT so I'll keep it
@@timothyandrews5975 in the meantime I bought a Citroen C5 66000 on the clock 2011 all the toys 12 months MOT and paid £3400. So I'm using that more than the R class. And maybe I'll sell it.
It's one of the very few Merc i like. And I do like this one. Keep in mind it's not a driver's car. Cockpit isn't much fun. But I really like what they did with all the passenger seats. Comfy and great ambiance. Probably the most sensible car to be chauffeured in.
Massive tank, I've always considered these to be merc's take on the Chrysler voyager. Not a fan of the few I've seen on the roads, they're almost too big for UK roads and certainly too big for the car parks.
I frequently read the list of comments relating to your reviews and they are always more or less 99.9% positive, which is a brilliant achievement and may I say richly deserved 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌 Kindest regards Steve.
The only thing I can think which rivals this is a Ssangyong Turismo (which also shares some Mercedes engineering), and is also rear or four wheel drive and is absolutely massive. It's a fascinating car, though. The only other one which slipped through the focus groups to this extent in such an unbelievable way in terms of what it actually supposed to be would be a Suzuki X-90. Try reviewing one of those!
@@HighPeakAutos, it was indeed! Based on the late 1990s Mercedes E Class chassis, as is the Turismo. The Turismo is astonishing value for money for the space and has a seven year 150,000 mile warranty. The Rodius has neither of those advantages...
Lloyd Vehicle Consulting wow! I didn’t realize it was a 150,000 mile warranty. You’re right about the Suzuki too, I’ll have to try and track one of those down 😉
@@HighPeakAutos, yes sir, standard 150,000 mile seven year warranty on all new Ssangyongs. A bit like the seven year warranty on most MG models. They were suspiciously started at around the same time... Would love to see an X-90, if you can actually find one!
I work as a technician in a Mercedes dealership. The R class is universally the most hated Mercedes in the whole workshop. Second and 3rd goes to the first 2 gen A class models. I do find it weird how the existed at all. There was a 6.2 AMG model. The only thing close to a competitor would be a Zafira VXR
Please can you let us know why it was so hated. I am seriously looking to buy one. Reliability, what are the pitfalls and how expensive are those pitfalls. Thanks in advance.
Great car, a pal has one and swears by it. His trunk size is huge so maybe yours is the swb model there is also the very useful lwb which is almost as large as a Chrysler voyager. I know you think this car is odd but it's not at home in the UK, made primarily for the US market where they fit in perfectly.
I have one of these and had to put bumper markers on it becouse you cannot see the front end even if you press your head against the ceiling the 9 foot sun roof is awesome..I use it for work so I removed the rear seats..somewhat doggy (350) around town .and on the highway its a bear! ..plenty of room and I've set up blankets and pillows in the back and I've already shagged several times!..
You can buy 1 for 5000 yes, but the important thing is: can you pay the maintanace for the car? That is really expensive. I bought 1 for 8000 euro and payed 8000 for maintanace in 1 year
Great review as usual and it was educational, well it tought me a lesson old luxury cars, still make sense. So I've bought an E class coupe will let you know how its going as it was one you recomended
The quality bench mark for Mercedes is the E class. The S takes it up a couple of notches on quality and ride characteristics. Every thing else below uses the badge to hide behind on poorer quality and ride. My Mrs has a A class CD. She loves the colour and image. It works, although the build quality is just OK and ride and engine noise lets you know your in the economy slot in the range. Just saying!!
I'm late to the party on this one. Thank you for introducing me to a car that I never knew existed. Its another one on the list of potential cheap runabouts. I have almost no interest in brand new cars. This channel is like a breath of fresh air (unless you are reviewing a diesel haha).
I used to have a baby blue 2007 R350. Wonderful vehicle. I would buy a new one in a heartbeat, but they aren’t available in the USA. The closest to it, is the Pacifica.
Eric Niemi, hi there! I’ve seeing plenty of them, but what I meant is that, as of right now there are 0 new ones at the dealership. Only China has them.
Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to be a brilliant funeral vehicle. The client does not notice its ugly shape, but inside, double packed in a coffin and a luxurious interior, he might have got his last nice drive.
Love watching your videos think they're excellent and would actually consider buying a car off you I I've been watching these for quite a while and you remind me of someone and I've figured out who is Hank Scorpio a super villian from the Simpsons but maybe it's just me keep up the good work
I'm looking right now at an R on a 09 plate.........anything in particular I should be looking for ie Transmission Bearings, Leaking Back lights etc???
any chance of reviewing the Mercedes GL? Have lusted after one from first sight back in the noughties but they are just coming into affoardble range. Review por favor?
MB The Best or Nothing is not said lightly or just an off hand boast. The vehicles speak quality. Even strange ones like the R class. Seen them going for $3000 CAD for the R320 Gas version. Looking for a CRD version if I don’t grab an E250 or E320 BlueTEC with the 4MATIC system.
Hi have you ever encountered the issue of the 7 speed gearbox being unreliable? I ask this as it is the same one in many mercs and they do seem to have issues with valve bodies and it's electrical parts . Very expensive to fix by all accounts. By the way love the reviews !
My ex ML 320 CDI did 355.00 km’s or 220.586 mls. Had the gearbox flushed every 60.000 kms / 37282 mls, just went on to work till i traded it in last year without issues. Must mention though that I never hauled any trailers or caravans !
My S Class gearbox went at 65,000 miles shortly after I bought the car from a rouge trader (warranty? what warranty?) - but it was "just" some module at the bottom of the gearbox that was a well known fault, there are specialists on the net that can fix it for you but that involves taking it out, sending it to them and obviously putting it back. This would (to me) be a great idea to do at the same time as changing the fluid. However, along with many electrical gremlins that a new battery didn't fix I waved it on its merry way and eventually bought a Lexus LS430 and (touch wood) have had no issues whatsoever (I did get the cam belt done though for piece of mind)
Looking to purchase a used 2008 R320 CDI with 200k on the odometer. Asking price of $3,800 and in mint condition. I'm interested in purchasing for my father, but hesitant in buying a Pandora's box! What are the major ownership issues and cost associated with this particular model in the U.S.? Thank you in advance!
I regret selling ours after 14 years took my family of 6 anywhere in US . The GLS-450 we replace it , yes it has more capabilities . No unique look though. High way driving because of the high CG is not as pleasant. R-Class is your personal Bullet train. Recommend it too.
The remaining M class shown on autotrader seem to be high mileage examples. I refuse to buy any car with over 50,000 miles. Thanks for another fantastic review, some of the cars you review makes me want to buy them.

Not gonna lie but that E class was also really comfortable but damn the r class is on another level!
I almost bought one of these.
I liked the fact that I'd only seen about 10 of them in my life!
Ended up getting a CLK.
These were made for the U.S. market but I agree with your conclusions. Our friends in Canada have one and they love it .. and cannot find a suitable replacement.
Evening Matt I like your content you feature stuff that slips through your memory, makes your vlogs interesting to watch. Regards Simon.
Simon Upex Thanks for watching! 😉
Luv this fella. Great vibes from his great reviews 👌
Love this show.... great sense of humour and great reviews....watch them all so keep them coming!

I Have 2012 R350cdi 278BHP 7seat.
Very fast and big, no problem to park this car for me.
34mpg mix driving.
My wife absolutely loves hers. She has all the bells and whistles. Never had any SERIOUS problems with it yet. I had to replace a blown break line and the motor in the hatch for the back door fried so gotta replace that too. The electronics in it are kind of crap but the mechanics are outstanding
Thats been my experience with Mercedes too :)
Mate, you give hope to those wandering about their assets. I drive an ML 270 CDI , now thanks to your vids, i know is not crap at all. Cheers, keep it up. I have came across R class before and that was a not known Letter (Class) at all, no wonder now.
My dream garage consists of an Audi Q7 V12 TDI and a Mercedes R63 AMG. Lock me up.
You will find me in the cell with you.
Both are oldly appealing...
I would have a range rover svr for raw power a Bentley bentayga for cruising comfort, lastly a Porsche cayenne for style
Toss in a 2004 allroad and I’ll join you.
i have an r 63 ,too.great car,i wll never sell it
@@guvitavld3891 are you in the facebook r63 owners page?
Lovely timing Matt. Perfect Sunday evening stuff.
Brian Morrissey I timed it to go live just after top gear! 😉
@@HighPeakAutos I see. Very clever. 👍 Those things are definitely rare. I do live in Waterford, Ireland which isn't exactly car Mecca but I've never seen one. Only 4 currently for sale on one major site.
Brian Morrissey They’re quite unusual
As a side note:
A cool idea that I thought would work on your channel is reviewing every generation of the 3 Series, could be built over time and labelled as a series, something like "The 3 Series Series" All generations of the 3 Series are compelling cars, E21, E30, E36, E46, E90, F30, G20 in all their variants, and what better excuse to experience them all. This would appeal to all from classic enthusiasts to those interested in cheapo used and even those who want more recent great value reliable motoring like the F30 variants.
S Mario Thanks!
I owned one in the USA i loved it the 350 4matic got 18 mpg . It died because of a bad seal allowed water to get to the fuse box. Rip the barge.
I have that exact r350 different engine love it works perfect sounds great goes fast super reliable 👍
Oeh yesi have it to but it slurps fuel
Simon Demiraku How much per fill up? I’m used to E Class fill up of $60, but I had an M Class that took $70+. I cannot go back to $600/month on gas.
Its worth noting that you could get a 5 seater which was slightly shorter but with a massive boot, as well as a 7 seat version
Yes thats right
Your so right with the R Class,I owned a 3l model ,pure luxury but I lived of the brink of a nervous breakdown with it,my wife used the car to do the school run and I used to dread her calling me before 9,just expecting and conversation starting with"theres something wrong with the car",it was nice when it worked but to be honest there is much better out there.
Absolutely love your videos. Keep it up
Ess R Cheers!
Cheers, Matt. Always interesting to go out for a spin with your good self.
Christopher Newman Thanks! 👍🏻
Great overview once again.

I watch these cos he’s a good looking guy.
Cheers!
That's why I bought one, exactly the same but Silver. Suits my family perfectly 👍
Paul any good ? Had any problems looking at getting one
Don't need the size but I like different ( I have a honda CRZ ) . Love having to explain what it is as you would with the R series. Excellent review as usual with balanced buying advice . Cheers.
William Fence I’ve never had a CRZ but I love the look. Thanks for watching
@@HighPeakAutos had mine 3& half years and it's just sailed through mot. It's the last model with a larger battery so quick and economic. Looked to trade in last year but saw nothing better.

More videos please. Love your reviews
Car service destryoed my Insignia and so I am looking for some preowned family car. Was deciding between X5, Q7 and R. Thanks to your review (and owner's comments here) I just decided to go for MB R. (Yeah I was always bit mad when it comes to cars anyway)
Well colour me impressed. I`m looking at buying 1 so I appreciate your honest review. I am getting a 2007 R320 Cdi Sport with new gearbox and full service history and "new rear air suspension and just £2250. I`ll keep you posted how it goes
What happened
@@timothyandrews5975 well yea I bought it. Got it home took it to the garage. Needed new injector seals and clamps and replaced 4 injectors it had a fuel leak on the way home. Went into limp mode. Dealer passed the buck with the warranty. Usual dealer lies. It was at the garage for 7 weeks being fixed. Fuel was all over the wiring harness but it came home last week. Sat on my drive. It passed the MOT so I'll keep it
@@markhughes6002God, you had to do an awful lot
@@timothyandrews5975 in the meantime I bought a Citroen C5 66000 on the clock 2011 all the toys 12 months MOT and paid £3400. So I'm using that more than the R class. And maybe I'll sell it.
@@markhughes6002 do french cars live upto the myths?
It's one of the very few Merc i like. And I do like this one. Keep in mind it's not a driver's car. Cockpit isn't much fun. But I really like what they did with all the passenger seats. Comfy and great ambiance. Probably the most sensible car to be chauffeured in.
Thank you, Matt. Decision made. I’ll buy an R320 as a tow wagon. 510mn of torque will pull a cottage off it’s foundations.
Doug deMuro loves his R63. I always heard the 320 cdi loved going through injectors
Sean Fenwick you’re right, loads of modern cars go through injectors, they’re too sensitive these days
I Always get exited waiting for your next video love your channel so much thanks once again keep up the amazing work.:)
John Holmes Thank you! 👍🏻
Massive tank, I've always considered these to be merc's take on the Chrysler voyager. Not a fan of the few I've seen on the roads, they're almost too big for UK roads and certainly too big for the car parks.
They are massive
I frequently read the list of comments relating to your reviews and they are always more or less 99.9% positive, which is a brilliant achievement and may I say richly deserved 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌 Kindest regards Steve.
Thanks Steve, I've noticed that too! Cheers :)
Hey Matt is smooth as silk to listen to and makes logical points unscripted, friendly, great editing and not to long winded with a joke now and then.
Loganbay Thanks!
Lloyd Vehicle Consulting Yeah you’re right. It used to be called the Rodius. What a hideous thing that was 😷
@@HighPeakAutos, it was indeed!
Lloyd Vehicle Consulting I’ve not driven a new MG either. The small SUV MG is very popular around my area, I see them all the time
It's like the Mercedes sausage, a bit of everything in it!
I currently have the r class 2012 at looks a bit different from this one, a bit sleeker but i love it
I had never even heard of an "R-Class" but I really like it and I don't even know why!!
The design is beautiful just looking at it from the outside... I’ve always liked this car just because the lines and proportions are so nice
@@user-pe2yx9kt4e It's something completely different and that is part of the attraction for me.
Why was it so hated? Looks or mechanical issues? Thanks
I guess he has no comment!
@@Angie-sb2vq BOTH! :'D
Great car, a pal has one and swears by it. His trunk size is huge so maybe yours is the swb model there is also the very useful lwb which is almost as large as a Chrysler voyager. I know you think this car is odd but it's not at home in the UK, made primarily for the US market where they fit in perfectly.
Actually Im the owner of a R63 AMG, and already got my own jacket. Sooooo, stay calm and dont be rude, boy.
Another great review pal keep them coming
Sajid Bashir Thanks for watching 😉
I have one of these and had to put bumper markers on it becouse you cannot see the front end even if you press your head against the ceiling the 9 foot sun roof is awesome..I use it for work so I removed the rear seats..somewhat doggy (350) around town .and on the highway its a bear! ..plenty of room and I've set up blankets and pillows in the back and I've already shagged several times!..
Often wondered about this car. Nice video, thanks 👍🏻
Thanks for watching :)
You can buy 1 for 5000 yes, but the important thing is: can you pay the maintanace for the car? That is really expensive.
I bought 1 for 8000 euro and payed 8000 for maintanace in 1 year
Oh no! What happened?
Great review as usual and it was educational, well it tought me a lesson old luxury cars, still make sense. So I've bought an E class coupe will let you know how its going as it was one you recomended
Good stuff! Hope you like it :)
1:15 It's the short one you have. You get 23cm more with long wheelbase.
Only seen a few around, bloody big cars. If I was in the market, I'd be tempted these days.
I love these things! The AMG version is crazy!
matt, just so you know the link for the sales course turned out to be deemed "not secure" by my isp. great video. doug demuro calls it a minivan.
Awesome review. Not often when people review cars after they're already aged.
No problem!
couldn't be better timing, now all we need is a E320DCI estate vs R320 comparison to help my decision

I used to have a baby blue 2007 R350. Wonderful vehicle. I would buy a new one in a heartbeat, but they aren’t available in the USA. The closest to it, is the Pacifica.
They are all over the place here. I've seen a black one and a red one here in Wisconsin. My wife has a white one.
Eric Niemi, hi there! I’ve seeing plenty of them, but what I meant is that, as of right now there are 0 new ones at the dealership. Only China has them.

any chance of reviewing the Mercedes GL?
By the way love the reviews !
chris coleman hi, I’ve never had any issues with Mercedes gearboxes. I do always make a point of having them serviced though. Thanks for watching
My ex ML 320 CDI did 355.00 km’s or 220.586 mls. Had the gearbox flushed every 60.000 kms / 37282 mls,
just went on to work till i traded it in last year without issues.
Old Warrenpoint Buying a Lexus LS430 was a good idea! I love those cars and they’re much better than the old S Class

I regret selling ours after 14 years took my family of 6 anywhere in US . The GLS-450 we replace it , yes it has more capabilities . No unique look though. High way driving because of the high CG is not as pleasant. R-Class is your personal Bullet train. Recommend it too.
What were the major problems and repairs you had to do in those 14 years?
Please review the R300CDI as well
Always wondered about the odd ball that was the R-class and yet, despite its looks, found it appealing in a weird way.
The remaining M class shown on autotrader seem to be high mileage examples. I refuse to buy any car with over 50,000 miles. Thanks for another fantastic review, some of the cars you review makes me want to buy them.
