Yes, Barry did write the song but it was co- written with his brother Robin, The Bee Gees wrote some great songs for other artists as you know, Samantha Sang an Australian artist did the song Emotion featuring Barry on backing vocals
With the album "Guilty" and its first single "Woman In Love", Barbra became the the first female artist to have simultaneous number one entries on the album and singles charts in the United Kingdom.
@@J.Fro90 I don't know what a ting is, but it must be good since it's legendary! 😊. (Unless they're also stranger...in which case they'd be things not tings!)
There are two great duets live with Barry from the album Guilty one is GUILTY and the other is WHAT KIND OF FOOL, they’re both so great Barry and Barbra reunited for another great album that Barry co-wrote with Ashley Gibb and Stephen Gibb and produced for her called Guilty Pleasures released in 2005. They have two other fantastic duets called ABOVE THE LAW s super great song and COME TOMORROW also very good.
Have you done Celine Dion and The Bee Gees live in Vegas? It’s excellent!!! That will give this a run for The money with folks working with The Bee Gees…. Although this Guilty CD is my favorite out of all the ones Barry has worked with.
Keep in mind that Barry released his demos for the 3 mentioned divas. You might like hearing how he very subtly changes his voice for each. One of his Streisand demos (maybe Run Free) even includes his vocal horns. When he wrote custom for vocalists, he wrote with the intention of bringing out their fullest potential difficulty-wise, as well as for their personal style. Be sure to include Barry Gibb or Bee Gees in reaction titles they are associated with to make them easier for fans to find.
I'm in love with this song! Particularly the sound and mood of the bass , the instrumentation; strings arrangement, horns, etc ! Just the overall production! Captivating !💯💥🎧
When I first got this album -- when it first came out in 1980(?) -- and the entire album is absolutely spectacular, I would put the album on repeat and listen to it again and again! I think this song is my favorite from Barbra and I had every album of hers that I could find, including movie soundtracks. Some days I would listen to only Barbra and some other days I would add some others like Neil Diamond, the BeeGees, some classical and lots of others. But Barbra was (still is) special. ❤ You could react to just her songs and movies and be busy for a very long time! BTW, good reaction but if I could just ask you to turn up your volume up that would help out a lot. Got a new sub! 😊
Barbra flexes her voice a bit with this song. The last note of the first part she bass drops 6 notes, then immediately starts the chorus 2 and half octaves higher. Right in core of her power. Then as if the crazy vocal acrobatics wasn't enough she holds the E5 on the sharp for 25 seconds. And she does both effortlessly.
This was s huge hit and one of Barbra's most successful charting singles, reaching #1 in 22 countries and staying at #1 in the U.S. for three weeks. But I have to agree with one of your posters here "J.", this YT selection wasn't great... sounded like Barbra was in the background and there was a reverb noise too. Find a better one, there are several, and listen again... her vocals are amazing, as always, but this song should be heard correctly. And one Barbra a month?😅You'll be 100 before you've heard every delightful song ever to leave this woman's vocal cords. How about one per week... you and your listeners won't be disappointed. There's a treasure trove of great stuff. Have you heard her duet with the Disco Queen herself, Donna Summer? If not, check it out..."No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)"... recommend the long version. Or how about her duet with another powerhouse vocalist, Celine Dion, on "Tell Him". I'd love to see your reactions to those. Once you really go down the Barbra rabbit hole, there's no turning back. She's got three albums alone of nothing but duets with some of the most famous singers and celebrities ever.
Minimally 1 Barbra a month, there will definitely be album reactions of hers & I think this will be the 1st album of hers I'll do. I've played it on Spotify a few times I think for cases like this (where there's just audio I'm reacting to) I'm going to react to the Spotify version vs a UA-cam upload of the song. I forgot I have heard the radio edit of No More Tears but the long version will get a video from me for sure. But yea like I say being a fan of Arerha, Diana & I'm a lover of a discography with dozens of albums lol.
@J.Fro90 Yes, I scanned through your list of videos to make sure I wasn't suggesting something you already aired and it was quite impressive. Lots of my favorites too, including Diana Ross who I had the pleasure of seeing in concert several times post-Supremes. As a matter of fact I saw her very first ever solo performance at a hotel in Miami Beach I worked at at the time, and actually met her in the elevator, and talked to her as I helped her carry her shopping bags to her room. So delightful. Look forward to your upcoming Barbra contributions, and don't forget that duet with Celine...I saw her several times in your list too.
@@donnamentrasti2695 Thank you so much! That is so cool, Im aiming to see her on the just announced tour, Yea Celine & The Beatles & The Bee Gees & Celine are on my list for once a month minimally. Yea what's helpful is even with artists Im not new to, there's always new things to discover, songs I had never heard albums I never paid attention to, and ALOT of music videos & performances (of songs I love a lot) that I never saw before. So I got a lot coming up to look forward to for a good while (and still new names to discover too).
@J.Fro90 Your love for music will be gifting you daily... enjoy the ride. I personally feel the greatest artists and music are behind us; with autotune, gimmicks, and over saturation, it's hard to find the true and authentic talents today. One that comes to mind, who just so happens to share the same birthday as Streisand, is Kelly Clarkson. Pink is very talented too. Other than that...🤷♀️
None of them, as far as I know before my 1st Barbra reaction I never heard a song from her from start to finish (except maybe The Way We Were), I've heard/seen snippets of her songs & performances that always gave me glimpses into what she can do bur yea before this channel I had never really sat down & listened to a Barbra song.
Thanks for letting me know, I've heard the Spotify version since the initial reaction, I thought it was just an effect in the original to give a moody atmosphere.
@@J.Fro90 Hi. This album was a huge success with three top 10s. There is not a bad cut on it. "Make It Like A Memory" is a dramatic, bluesy, pop opus that highlights her ability to live inside a song.

From the same album 'Guilty' is the song 'Make it Like a Memory' which you will certainly be impressed with.
@Chuck Drennen The album makes a huge impact, but "Make it Like a Memory" is nothing short of a masterpiece.
In my top three faves from Babs

CELINE AND BARBRA
( TELL HIM ) IS ALSO A GREAT ONE TO CHECK.
I LOVE ALLL OF IT..❤
The song was released in August 1980 and reached number 1 in the States in 8 weeks. Barry Gibb is not in the background.
WOMAN IN LOVE Writers: Barry & Robin Gibb. Background Vocals: Denise Maynelli, Myrna Mathews, Marti McCall

It was written by Barry, Robin and Mo as a lot of their songs for others were.
This was written by Barry & Robin. Also, Barry was the primary (& often the sole) songwriter when writing for others.

Good luck with the move! It's arduous at best, so I hope yours is as smooth as possible.

That song and Barbra’s interpretation is pioneer and inspirational to any ballads Whitney Houston Mariah Carey and/or Celine Dion did later
