Day 5 in Cyprus, Jan 2024

We went to Famagusta region by bus to see the natural beauty there by first visiting Paralimni - a small town not far away from the UN buffer zone. Though the town is small, it has a very beautiful St George Church with colourful paintings and wood carvings. The old St George Church is still there but is not open to the public. Next we went to the beaches in Protaras, the water there is crystal-clear but still cold. After Protaras, we went to the Cape Greco to see the rocks carved out by wind and water erosions, and also the lonely tiny blue-dome church in the area. Finally, we headed to Agia Napa and visited another church while waiting for our bus to Larnaca. We met again the friendly driver who took us to Pafos the other day. Back to Larnaca we had traditional oven-cooked dinner to end our 5th day in Cyprus.
