I feel there were definitely changes that weren't included in the patch notes. I actually experienced some damage drop-off using the omolon test sniper on first light. headshots were hitting for about 170. all the new snipers we've seen so far have all been the high rof, low impact archetype. I really hope there's gonna be more variety than that.
After using the omolon test sniper (Extremely low impact) The damage drop off was noticeable, but not a problem. Even though by standard it only does 100 to the body. And for new snipers, That 1000 Yard Stare :O Looks like it might even throw Supremacy off the the throne for best sniper rifle in the game :O
MikeTyson Del Fututro It's a new vanguard sniper that looks sick. High impact like the benevolence. High aim assist (More than shadow of veils but less than supremacy) It can roll all our favorite scopes, hidden hand, snapshot perfect balance hand laid stock etc. It's gonna be a beast.
Hey TrueVanguard, I kinda took your advice to use a low aim assistance snipers to train, so I started using my PvE Her Benevolence with Triple Tap, Casket Mag, and Surplus with the shortgaze scope. I used it for 2 weeks then switched back to Shadow of Veils as my main PvP sniper, and I could say I improved and I'm helping my friends in Trials of Osiris. Thank You!
I did notice a pretty big drop off when I sniped a guy on Crossroads with my Epitaph 2261, but most maps I barely notice it. It's definitely not a bad thing.
omg thank you TV my target acquisition is on fleek in one shooting people off of pikes and sparrows and people challenging me and scoping in first are getting wrecked with one shot now i just need to work on my quickscopes
I don't know whether anyone's noticed this on their snipers, but the Her Benevolence I have has had it's ammo capacity increased to 20 rounds from 19 (when wearing armour that's increases special weapon ammo) and it shows the extra round added when Performance Bonus procs.
I've gotten a boost in stats since the 2.0 dropped. I've also had an easier time with sniping and i feel that its easier on me as far as not getting picked off by an opponent pre-aiming down sights. I don't think aim assist has been nerfed, but if your feeling a bit off with your shots. I would recommend going into patrol for a bit and warming up before heading into crucible. Really digging these new maps, i've notice i have a faster reaction time then 90% of guardians now that everyone is new to these maps. Hopefully i can carry this success throughout the rest of the year!

I don't believe they changed snipers, but the flinch is much heavier now. Bungie most likely took this route because they are sneaky, and have mentioned before how snipers treat their weapons like "their babies", and they don't want to upset snipers by nerfing them. Either way, they saw their prevalence and how other specials were tuned down, and probably wanted snipers to feel a little bit off in those hectic situations.
lwo impact snipers like the eye of sol (and presumably the new ib sniper since it looks like it's low impact) can get headshot hitmarkers at very long ranges now. So range does kinda matter. I assume it could make certain snipers unable to revive snipe beyond certain ranges too.

More often than not, When I think I land them, and even see the bullet trail go through the head, I still happen to miss. Maybe I have to get used to it again. Or maybe damage registration has changed. Either way, it feels off. Gotta keep practicing.

I am looking at the armory of TTK on bungies website. I really hope they are adding in some new snipers other than the ones listed right now. There are like 4 new TTK legendary snipers.... thats it
unsure how, but I had a point where my spear only hit 350 on a headshot. I wish I would've recorded it, but it was really weird. This happened on that new map crossroads when I was sniping a guy who was camping B and I was near C.

My benevolence has average range(about 70% of the bar filled) and from medium range i shot a titan with blessings of light and I did 291 headshot damage :/
I agree with that. WAY more! A line AR pellet from across the Bannerfall courtyard was enough to send my scope all over the place. I was waiting for TV to mention it. Surprised he didn't. Maybe it's because he kills opponents before they have a chance to make him flinch
I was in the game with you at the twilight gap where you killed me like 5 different times lol (loganwilson_116) I joined mid match and was like seriously Bungie they are getting destroyed. I pulled out my ghost and realized why lol. I can brag and say that I got you once on a panic quick scope you charged at me and I did the only thing I could do and that was aim and fire. I laughed so hard because it was a headshot and I figured you were probably sitting there like "wow what a lucky shot" lol anyways great video like always and maybe one day I'll get a chance at redemption. ;)
Same here. The spawns on the new maps hasn't helped either. At least 2-3 times per game I end up respawning with an enemy guardian already pouncing on me.
Personally, I'm happy that even though shotguns and hand cannons were nerfed, Both classes are still very viable in PvP. I can still get a good amount of kills with my Felwinter's, and I've been killed by TTW and Thorn more than a few times. So now everything is very balanced. I think the Crucible is in a good spot right now.
+Planet Helix i don't think so the base stability and benefits from perfect balance etc were greatly reduced they're viable at medium range but at those closer medium ranges an AR just simply outguns a pulse and i use the legendary lord high fixer hc often and i don't get outgunned by a pulse at medium ranges often but at those longer medium ranges they do shred, it's all about positioning.
Aim assist did change, I can feel it. I used to never miss my sweep shots, but now I only hit 80 percent and a good sniper knows thats a lot. I don't feel like its reduced, I just think that sometimes it doesnt work at all like in a glitch.
Sniping for me is the same. There's an exception. Before 2.0, if I or the enemy was on red bar (yellow bar sometimes) and I sniped a revive, I would get the kill seconds later. Now I'm getting the "immune" shit popping. And no, I do not snipe too early on the revive, I've been sniping revives for ages and I wouldn't shoot early. That has happened to me even on green bar.
+Danilo Solano You are sniping too early, they've changed the amount of invincibility frames you get after being revived, so what wouldn't have been too early before 2.0 is now too early, that's why they're immune, not their connection
It doesn't matter because a LDR which has less impact and it was not final round one shot me as a Ram User while I had flame shield radiant skin full armor I can mostly assume anything with a similar or above impact of a LDR can 1 shot most armored guardians

+Kojo Otu noticed that too. Also we are getting +5 from ammo boxes now and not +4. Or did it always grab 5 and I am mistaken?
Chel Fan I think the drops are about the same, but I find it easier to find more ammo on the new maps, especially in 3v3 game modes

Does it feel that mulligan has been activating pretty often now? Mulligan activated like twice once with my nlb...

I really wish I could snipe like you, Vanguard, or any good Snipers really. Maybe some day, but I doubt it.

Showtime_kick123 I got one of 10 kills Friday and was crazy. Had 3 fast kills that I couldn't believe myself since I just playing 2 days with snipers.

They have changed the sniping off the revive. You cant snipe them when they still crouching. You must wait for them to stand up

I personally choose efrideets because of the low aim assist and I think it can kill a self Rez full armor ram warlock
