How many first-team all defensive teams did D-Wade make again I think Kobe 9: first team all-defense three second-team all-defense come on man listen to The Experts let me listen to The Experts who played but we are in America you are entitled to your opinion but not your own facts
@@edwardtimothy3581 Lets take away 5 of Kobe's 1st team selections on defense. He still has 4 to Wade's 0. Saying Wade is the better defender is some bozo shit. Plus the eye test proves it. If you watched them both play it was clear who the superior defender was.
@@roboninja3194 if he didn't get those 4, then it would be given to somebody else. And since he is SG, it would be given to another SG. And it would mkst likely be Wade. So instead of 5 and 0, it would be 5 and 4
Finally someone saying Wade athletically closer to MJ than Kobe! Wade had better first step, speed, vert, and blocking ability. Flash almost caught Mike for blocks by SG and was 2" shorter!
@@brunoreis4203 underrated hence why you have all these fools thinking Kobe was on some astronomical higher level. Injuries robbed him of more notoriety and accolades. After the 06 championship he was the best player in the league during the 07 season averaging 30ppg 8apg 5rpg on 49% shooting before he dislocated his shoulder and missed 1.5 years getting back. Wade was also the best player on the Olympics team
MJ said Kobe is the only player in history that could possibly come close or beat him 1on1 and both men are undefeated 1on1 against other NBA players I am not sure which version of Kobe you watched as he tore his Achilles in 2013 and was not the same but still good
I will not say Wade is the GOAT just bc he's my favorite player. What l will is he most definitely the best shock blocking defensive 2 guard. Just lije MJ & KB in his prime he was UNSTOPPABLE just like them. Also if u compare stats its neck and neck...
if you wanna say dwades game resembled more or MJ game during the first half of MJs career i can get with that but for jordans 2nd half of his career Kobe most definitely emulated Mjs game so much more than Wade did.
Kobe recreated the game of the 2nd three-peat Jordan very well. The post-up, fadeaway, midrange centric game. Kobe was an athletic beast to begin his career, like Jordan and they both transitioned their games similarly. I don’t think it’s that big a stretch to say they’re very similar. That being said, Wade has always been more similar to Jordan during his first run.
Kobe work ethic is a reason why he’s compared to Jordan. 2008 team USA d Wade said himself Kobe was already in workout number 2 when they woke up for breakfast. It was Kobe’s influence that showed Lebron and Wade how real legend work out
That's one aspect but tbh its not the main reason why people compare the two. Plus tbh imo Kobe's work ethic surpassed Jordan's(I still have MJ as the GOAT).
@@frankincensemerchant1284 fully agreed not to diss jordan, bcuz i believe jordan's drive to win and *monstrously insatiable drive* to do anything to win was probably the most intense but at the same time, he never really worked so hard to teh point where his body was tearing apart and he still went through with it, at least not in the same way kobe did
Kobe ranks 16th all-time in career DWS, according to Basketball Reference. He is behind players like Tim Duncan, Karl Malone, and Hakeem Olajuwon, but ahead of other all-time greats like Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, and Larry Bird. Among shooting guards specifically, Kobe ranks first in career DWS. He is ahead of other notable shooting guards like Michael Jordan, Dwyane Wade, and Clyde Drexler. Kobe's DWS numbers from individual seasons are also impressive. He posted a career-high 4.6 DWS in the 2007-08 season, which was the second-highest total in the league that year. He also had several other seasons with DWS totals of 3 or above, which is a strong mark for a perimeter player. Put some respect on the late Kobe Bean Bryant young pups!!
Also Kobe made 9 1st team defense. Wade made 0. Wade did have defensive team selections but all 3 were the 2nd team. I'm not sure what this video is about. Anyone can cherry pick a few numbers and twist them to look a certain way but the eye test+stats always rings true. And if you watched Wade and Kobe play both were good defenders but Kobe was superior.
Respectfully, Dwyane Wade is the greatest basketball player of all time. Better than Kobe Michael Jordan. Definitely better than that bum LeBron James Scottie Pippen is better than LeBron
“Kobe was the closest thing to MJ” is some corny shit that casuals say when arguing Kobe>Lebron. Kobe’s post and mid range game resembled Jordan’s, but he was nowhere close to him in terms of greatness, talent, or basketball ability
i've been saying this for years. 06-11 wade is 1a and 1b with 87-91 mike. he's better than both kobe and lebron, even with one meniscus. take that in. attribute for attribute, peak for peak, it's as obvious as it gets.
@@dstreet4599 a great balance that era had. You had great wing players like those just mentioned along with Melo and Durant but also great big men like Duncan, KG, Dirk, and Yao Ming.
@bigbucket3 the whole point of the video was to say that Dwayne wades game is more reminiscent of Michael jordan and kobes game was. His purpose in saying kobe was overrated defensively was to further elaborate on his point that Dwayne wade is more similar to MJ. He wasn't bashing kobe.
One issue with D-Wade's career is how more attention would be given to his co-stars. An example is the Redeem Team were a lot of the focus was on Kobe and LeBron when many forget D-Wade like Charles Barkley on the Dream Team 1 was the leading scorer(coming of a shoulder injury btw).
Once you realize Wade is from Chicago, you begin to understand his game. Wade actually is a very underrated defender which is why he kind of doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Though I don't think wade actually peaked higher than Kobe, his peak kinda went by in a flash bc he lost 2 years of his prime due to injury between 06 and 2010. Then Bron arrived and he had to play 2nd fiddle and then injuries completely decimated his superstar run.
Calling Kobe Bryant an overrated defender is crazy, lol. Makes me question if you even watched games in the 2000s. Wade was a great defender as well, but Kobe’s best years as a defender were from 1999 - 2007. Anything outside of that, not as much. But calling him overrated is not the move.
I mean Phil jackson also said kobe was an overrated defender and got some of his later first team all defensive based more on reputation than actual on court abilities in his later years
it was better than any finals jordan ever had. one man carry being down 2-0 with an underdog team full of guys that were a year or two away from retirement. it’s the best finals performance ever and always will be.
Even tho his vertical wasn’t as high compared to the other two, Kobe’s dunks in games were better or at least more flashier. He was doing 360s and behind the back stuff.
Dwyane Wade and Kobe Bryant were both exceptional athletes, and it's difficult to say definitively which one was better. However, there are a few factors that may give one player an edge over the other in certain areas: Speed and quickness: Dwyane Wade was known for his incredible speed and quickness, which made him a difficult player to defend. He was able to blow by defenders with ease and was also a tenacious defender himself. While Kobe was also very quick and had excellent footwork, some might argue that Wade had a slight edge in this area. Wade advantage!! Vertical leap: Both players were known for their leaping ability, but Kobe may have had a slight advantage over Wade in terms of pure vertical leap. Kobe was able to dunk from a standing position, and he won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest early in his career. While Wade was certainly a great leaper in his own right, he may not have had quite the same vertical as Kobe. Kobe advantage Size and strength: Kobe was a bit bigger and stronger than Wade, which may have given him an advantage in certain aspects of the game. Kobe was listed at 6'6" and 212 pounds during his playing days, while Wade was listed at 6'4" and 220 pounds. Kobe was also known for his strength and ability to overpower defenders in the post, which was not always a major part of Wade's game. Kobe advantage
@@anthonycelestin3559 Depends on how you look at it! Speed: I got them close or would say even imo Kobe Bryant: Kobe was known for his impressive speed, particularly in the open court and on fast breaks. His ability to outrun opponents and finish at the rim showcased his speed. Dwyane Wade: Wade was also recognized for his speed on the basketball court. His quickness and ability to accelerate allowed him to blow by defenders and get to the basket. Quickness: I give Wade the advantage here Kobe Bryant: While KB had solid quickness, he was more renowned for his footwork, body control, and ability to create separation using his offensive moves and footwork. Dwyane Wade: Wade was widely regarded as one of the quickest players in the NBA. His agility, lateral quickness, and ability to change direction rapidly made him difficult to guard in one-on-one situations. Explosiveness: I give Kobe the advantage here Kobe Bryant: Bean was known for his explosive leaping ability, which he used to finish at the rim with powerful dunks and to contest shots defensively. His athleticism and vertical explosiveness were remarkable. Dwyane Wade: Wade possessed explosive bursts of speed and a quick first step, allowing him to explode past defenders and finish plays at the rim. His athleticism and ability to elevate for acrobatic finishes were notable.
@@EricJohnsonresign Your looking at explosiveness the wrong way. Explosiveness doesn’t relate to vertical ability. Definition of explosiveness within the context of sports is an individual’s ability to exert amount of force in the shortest possible time. Furthermore, explosiveness is the ability to jump, sprint and change direction with using very little wind up. Wade was stronger than Kobe from his upper body and had a stronger base. Wade had much more force when driving to the paint and can finish through contact better than Kobe. Wade also can change direction better than Kobe with his ability to constantly split the defense and get to the paint easily. Wade was more explosive. Kobe had a higher vertical leap but he couldn’t finish through contact and with the force & power like a Wade can do
@@anthonycelestin3559 I think you make good points but I would have to push back on you as it relates to explosiveness. Explosiveness in the context of sports does often relate to an athlete's vertical ability, particularly when it comes to activities such as jumping and dunking in basketball or spiking in volleyball. An athlete's vertical leap is a commonly used measure to assess explosiveness, as it reflects their ability to generate power and force off the ground. However, it's important to note that explosiveness is not solely determined by vertical ability. It encompasses a broader range of factors, including speed, quickness, agility, strength, and power. These attributes contribute to an athlete's overall explosiveness and their ability to perform actions such as sprinting, changing direction, and accelerating rapidly. In the case of Kobe and D Wade, both players exhibited explosiveness in different ways. Kobe was known for his impressive leaping ability and ability to finish plays at the rim with powerful dunks, showcasing his vertical explosiveness. Dwyane Wade, on the other hand, demonstrated explosiveness through his quickness, agility, and ability to change direction, allowing him to blow by defenders and get to the basket effectively. Lastly, and I apologize for my lengthy response lol: When comparing the strength of Kobe and D Wade, it is difficult to make definitive statements without access to specific measurements or comprehensive data. Both players were known for their physicality and had different types of strength that contributed to their respective styles of play. In terms of upper body strength, D Wade was known for his strong build and ability to absorb contact when driving to the basket. His strength allowed him to finish through contact and compete against larger opponents effectively. Wade's physicality was a notable aspect of his game and contributed to his success. Kob, on the other hand, was renowned for his dedication to physical conditioning and overall athleticism. While he may not have had the same visibly muscular physique as Wade, Kobe possessed a unique combination of strength, agility, and body control. His strength was evident in his ability to finish at the rim and make difficult shots in traffic, showcasing his physical prowess.
I think part of what you are missing is similar height and body. you could look at kobe on the court and think he looks like Jordan and how he moves. no one can say that about wade. also, Jordan was fundamentally sound when he came in the league. he changed his game as he got older cause typically when we get older we can do what we could when we were younger. he slowed down, his vertical wasn't as high. he had moments but he couldn't do it day in and day out like he could when he first came in the league. he altered his game so he could still be as effective and dominant. becoming more of a midrange player in his later career, helped him keep energy for the defensive side and enough to play the whole game, it also help him to avoid injury
Fundamentals give it to Kobe Bryant. He learned european basketball at a young age with his fathers fundamentals also. He got the younger Eddie Jones prime time show while D Wade got the Eddie Jones veteran wisdom. Kobe Bryant had two continents basketball fundamentals and two or more generations basketball fundamentals.
Lmao you even point out how the body of work favors Kobe overwhelmingly. You make good points, but that still doesn't prove your larger point that it's a "myth". Saying that Wade is closer to Jordan to athleticism & off-ball defense is good points to make, but we all know who has the edge in scoring. Of course you didn't want to go into further detail on the scoring, but you gave it away when you said the body of work (the longevity) of Kobe's scoring prowess & continuous in-game impact blows Wade out of the water. Even with your bias against Kobe, you had to admit this. That's why you had to downplay his playmaking & defense and resort to making a "greatest peaks" argument. Bffr man
Stop trynna make it about stats bro he was talking eye test smh. Bro he's not saying who's better but who's playstyle is closest to mj. Mj in his first three peat was an insanely athletic monster like dwade and unlike Kobe. He was great offball like dwade unlike Kobe. He was a great shotbloker like dwade wade. Kobe is better but he didn't play like 1st three peat mj bro. Kobe was an insanely tough shot maker who was a beastly on ball defender with a bag of tricks only rivaled by kyrie.
lol at kobe's "in-game prowess blowing Wade out the water" please. This isn't MJ vs AI. Wade led the league in scoring once just like Kobe, Wade was overall the better defender, playmaker and unselfish playmaking
@JO136d 1. Kobe led the league twice in scoring; although he was in the top 2-3 ppg a year in most of his prime. Kobe is the superior scorer; and it really isn't a debate. 2. Peak Kobe's defense>Peak Wade's Defense. Plus Kobe had better longevity defense. Kobe is 9 time first team defender (most all time) for a reason 3. I will give you the playmaking of Wade peak wise; but longevity wise, Kobe wins in that category as well.
@@MrballerizeKobe was a better playmaker he just played in the triangle for most of his career if you in the triangle you don’t really stand out playmaking wise
Kobe averaged 30, 5, 5 at his peak in the deadball era. He is the only superstar to go through a rebuild in his absolute prime. Stop spreading hate on the Bean. With added context Beans statistics look way better. The last 3 seasons had brutal injuries first 2 seasons had politics from that lakers coach kept him from getting burn. Wade was great but Bean had the moves the mentality and size
It’s not like Dwade was doing the same thing during 2006-2010 while not having peak shaq on his team literally having a rebuild during his prime cause of how bad his supporting cast was
There is no hate on Kobe here. There is just a lot of misinformation that Kobe was a lot better than what he actually was. The advanced stats are not friendly to him, and that means something. With added context, Kobe’s numbers, especially on defense, are far below his reputation.
I think the reason they stated that Kobe is the closest thing to Jordan lies in the mentality. While the Mamba mentality is done to death nowadays, it came from Jordan on the court. The thing that made Kobe was taking that mentality to other aspects of life and making it a brand of sorts. But I suppose you could argue that is also a part of the mythology.
Wade looks just like mj sometimes especially when he cut his hair bald. You had to squint your eyes to make sure it was Wade. But we all wanted to be like mike. It’s no surprise that both Kobe and Wade resemble mj. Mjs game is pretty in all of our games. Some how some way, some form or fashion
Kobe skill wise was close to being on par with Jordan. His competitiveness and drive was on the same level as well. But what separates the two is that Jordan was one of the most gifted athletically and physical freak of nature to ever step foot on the court.
To be honest, kobe biggest downfall was his obsession (in terms of working out for long periods of time) which would later result in injuries in his career
Jordan didn’t just shoot 50% from the mid range, Jordan was avg over 10 shots a game from the mid range and avg 50%. In the ‘96 season Jordan made more mid range shots than Reggie Miller even attempted, and made 49.5% of them compared to Reggie’s 43% from mid range that season. Mike was THE greatest mid range shooter of all time on top of everything else that makes him the 🐐of this sport by a huge margin
You sound like you’re just repeating other ppls points, mine specifically. Off pin downs? Wade wasn’t a good off ball player lol, only a good cutter to the basket off the ball. His game resembles 1st 3peat Jordan the most but he’s still missing the off ball element. And yeah defensively Kobe doesn’t resemble Jordan but offensively he’s the closest to 2nd 3peat Jordan.
You forgot his hands and wingspan, MJ hands were bigger than some 7footer hands, bigger than Lebron hands for exemple, and a 7’1 wingspan that’s why i think Kawhi is with Wade the closest to him, Kawhi is just bigger and less athletic, but people always underestimate the power of having big hands, of being able to palm the ball when you are agile, quick, crafty ect like most 6’6 guards are, the thing MJ could do in the air weren’t only because of his insane vertical and body control but also because of his big ass hands, same for defense, he could steal the ball and dblock shot better because of that big wingspan and big hands .
Kobe n mike were the same size..Kobe copy almost everything from mike..Wade was little bit shorter n his game was different..Wade s vertical was not as high as mike or kobe..Wade didn't fadeaway like kobe or Mike..That's why they compared Kobe to mike.
Jordan became the midrange Master somewhere around 1990, during his first 3 peat he was shooting over 50% from midrange while also having the 90% of his prome athleticism, which is why he was sp dominant.
Bro respect to you but D wade better than Kobe now you just reaching, D Wade was a beast but not on Kobe’s level stop it man please stop it, Kobe was held 2 yrs from playing and still passed MJ in points by the time he was in his 30s and Kobe beat more 50 win teams at some of the hardest defenses in history, Kobe is the closest to MJ no question because he had the hunger to be better each time he played, Kobe got the Redeem Team to win and be better and after D Wade and Bron and Melo learned from Kobe their careers got better after that Redeem Team sooooo I am confused a bit.
This video is laughable 😂obviously there are slight differences in defense and athleticism but when u talk about mentality, scoring ability and versatility combined with maybe overrated but elite defense there is no other player comparable to Jordan but Kobe .
Dude nobody put together a run Kobe did from 08 to 10 and you talking about all he had was longevity to stand on against Wade?? If anything injuries hurt KB longevity legacy
Bro I am just going to chalk it up to your young and you didn’t see Kobe in his Prime it basically sounds like your case is really D Wade was better than Kobe and that’s just BS😂😂
I think wade is better than Lebron but better than kobe you crazy 😜 check every game of both and clearly the mamba was way better player I know kobe have MJs game but still is better
Kobe is also the better player which is why hes more compare to MJ than wade and lets not act like kobe and MJ werent identical during his number 8 years cause he definitely was. It was 24 where he completely changed as player. Still respect to dewade ill say hes more similar
06-11 wade is 1a and 1b with 87-91 mike. better than peak lebron, peak wilt and peak kobe. this video is nothing, there's still a lot more waking up for basketball fans to do. this video is, however, a step in the right direction.
D.Wade is seriously unrrated almost his whole career till he received abit of recognition towards the end of it. His defending is tenacious like Michael and his athletic ability is for all to see, yet not acknowledged enough.
A thing about young Mike that not a lot of people talk about is his insane speed. His acceleration was so dumb quick he could blow by defenders from a standstill, he just didn't move with the profile of guys like Russ or DRose, who sped up with more exaggerated moves.
I'm done after this: Defensive Win Shares (DWS): Defensive Win Shares is an estimate of the number of wins contributed by a player due to his defense. Kobe Bryant had a career DWS of 69.6, while Dwyane Wade had a career DWS of 57.5. Defensive Rating (DRtg): Defensive Rating is an estimate of the number of points a player allows per 100 possessions while he is on the court. Kobe Bryant had a career DRtg of 104, while Dwyane Wade had a career DRtg of 103. Defensive Box Plus/Minus (DBPM): Box Plus/Minus is a box score-based metric that estimates a player's contribution to the team when he is on the court. Defensive Box Plus/Minus is the defensive component of Box Plus/Minus. Kobe Bryant had a career DBPM of 0.2, while Dwyane Wade had a career DBPM of 1.2. Overall, these advanced defensive statistics suggest that both Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade were strong defenders, but Kobe may have had a slight edge in terms of overall defensive impact. However, it's worth noting that advanced statistics can be limited in their ability to fully capture a player's defensive contributions, and other factors such as team defensive schemes and individual matchups can also play a significant role in a player's defensive effectiveness. Also, I saw Kobe play live and and in color and not just a few games here in there on UA-cam. Also, you said Phil Jackson said Kobe was an overrated defender which is false. He never said!! Lastly, the points you make regarding Kobe being a lesser playmaker. Bean played in Phil Jackson's Triangle offense for much of his career, which was a system that typically relied on ball movement and player movement rather than individual playmaking. In the Triangle offense, the ball would often move from one side of the court to the other, and players would cut and screen for each other in order to create scoring opportunities. As a result, Kobe's assist numbers were often lower than those of other top-tier perimeter players who played in more free-flowing offensive systems. He also, lead the Lakers in 16 consecutives seasons in assist.
“Kobe’s defense, to be accurate, has faltered in recent years, despite his presence on the league’s all-defensive team. The voters have been seduced by his remarkable athleticism and spectacular steals, but he hasn’t played sound, fundamental defense. Mesmerized by the ball, he’s gambled too frequently, putting us out of position, forcing rotations that leave a man wide open, and doesn’t keep his feet on the ground” - Phil Jackson on Kobe’s defense
@@YungMustard You seem to take Phil's word on face value lol. However when MJ has said Kobe reminds him of himself and various other NBA players have been on record saying Kobe is the closes thing to Jordan you seem to contradict. Then you make a disingenuous video trying to push DWade into the conversation of being more like MJ with your breakdown. As you young dudes say, CAP!! You highlight some of Wades injuries but fail to do the same for the countless injuries Kobe racked up over his tenure. SELECTIVE!! Also you, mention Phil's quote from his controversial book on Kobe's defense but that doesn't mean much because Phil violated many coach player trust with the rants in his book. Phil also said this about NBA players and their dress code. “I think it’s important that the players take their end of it,” he said back then. “Get out of the prison garb and the thuggery aspect of basketball that has come along with hip-hop music in the last seven or eight years.” I guess you side with Phil on this observation as well Mustard lol!
Wade's peak is underrated because he joined with other superstars to chase rings and lost half the seasons. He wasn't even the best player on that team so that is going to affect the perception of your career.
The student and master thing is pushed bc it was true. Kobe & Mike have both talked about how kobe was like a little brother & would call him for guidance in situations.
You should have just said d wade is like young Mike, and Kobe is 2nd 3peat Mike. D Wade didn't elevate his jump shooting like Kobe and Mike. D Wade is my favorite player. I actually thought he was MJ at Marquette
I been saying this!!! Also my own personal belief.... having a high basketball IQ is usually only applied to the offensive end by a player's ability to get assists but, if a player is truly dominant on both ends of the court then I believe they have a higher overall basketball IQ than a player that excels specifically on the offensive end because they have the awareness to identify the opposing offense and consistently place themselves in position to defend as well as manipulate the game on the offensive end. Wade, Duncan, MJ, and Hakeem are the first 4 players that come to mind as far as being elite on both ends throughout their career. Some players can be elite for a handful of years while others are elite for the majority of their careers
Carbon copy doesn’t necessarily mean exact copy. You’re probably too young to know this, but if you’ve ever used a carbon copy document, you would know. So is Kobe a carbon copy of MJ? Yes - his footwork, post game, shot selections is very similar to MJ - does it mean he’s the EXACT same as MJ? Nope, just like a carbon copy, not all aspects are transferred over exactly. So yes, Kobe is a carbon copy of MJ, however does not mean he is exactly like MJ 🤷♂️
@@terelleconner6667 - nope I watched the video, he stated Kobe can’t be carbon copy as Wade was better as he played well on both ends 🤷♂️ He stated Kobe walked and talked like MJ however was not athletic like him……like that had ANYTHING to do with why people state Kobe is like MJ 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ people state he is like MJ because of his offensive prowess, footwork, mentality! 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ nobody says he flies like Mike, plays defense like Mike etc 🙄🙄🙄
I really don’t understand how your trying to defend the exact person that said Kobe was the closest thing to him. I respect your opinion but the guy your fending for is literally saying the opposite (odd one out). And key word “closest” no person or NBA player said Kobe was exactly like Mj, they said he was the “closest” to him in terms of game.🤷🏾♂️
What I’m saying is the guy your trying to defend and make a case for (Mj) wouldn’t agree with your take or defend it because he thinks the complete opposite
It's not a myth. Wade himself said Kobe is better than him and Wade also said himself Kobe is the closest to Jordan. Jordan himself said Kobe is. If Jordan himself said it then its a done discussion.
Lol He Is Speaking Style Of Play. I Agree , The ‘88-‘93 Version Of MJ The Closest Resemblance Of That Was DWade At His Peak & Peak Kobe Resembles ‘96-‘98 MJ. And Also Shoutout Kawhi & Vince Carter They Are Also Very Close In That Apsect Too. Vince Had The Hype Around Him At One Point Of “The Next Jordan” But I Don’t Think He Wanted The Pressure That Came With It , Kobe Wanted That & Embraced That Pressure. But I’ll Say What I Think He Is Halfway Eluding To A Lil Bit Towards The Later End Of The Video That I Have Been Saying For YEARS. Dwyane Wade Peak For Peak At The Top Of His Game Was A Slightly Better Player Than Kobe. He Isn’t Thought Of The Way He Should Be Due To His Injuries. He Was On Track To Be One Of The 5 Greatest Players Ever At MINIMUM Before His Shoulder Injury In ‘07. Probably Missed Out On A Extra Title In 2005 Due To Him Injuring His Ribs In The ECF. He Sacrificed His Entire Career For LeBron & Its Not Spoken About Enough. But Peak For Peak Him & Kobe Are Basically A Wash But I Slightly Prefer Wade. Wade Was More Efficient , Equal Rebounder , MUCH Better & Willing Passer. Better & More Consistent Defender. Best ShotBlocking Guard Ever Followed By Michael Jordan & John Wall. Kobe Is A Better Scorer Skillset Wise Obviously But From An Impact Standpoint When You Factor In The Efficiency Standpoint The Gap Closes A Bit. Just As Good Of A Leader , Clutch Player & Same Level Of Intangibles. Alot Less Selfish Too Even Tho I Think The “Kobe Is Selfish” Narrative Is A Tad Bit Overblown. Wade Is Most Underrated Player Ever In My Book.
But Dwade didn’t have the fadaway & footwork like MJ. Only thing MJ & Wade had that was similar was the way they drove to the paint and their athleticism. But Kobe is very similar to MJ when it comes to the footwork and fadaway and their body types are similar even though MJ had a stronger body, had bigger hands and had more athleticism than Kobe. But both Kobe & MJ are 6’6 and they both got a lean lanky body. Wade had more of a stockier football type body, almost like a NFL running back, different body type than a Kobe & MJ. Kobe & MJ’s frame are similar and their playstyle are similar, that’s why their compared
Kobe was similar to Jordan from 95-98. NO ONE is CLOSE to Jordan from 84-93. DWade had Jordan's leadership, intensity, and effort. But he lacked Jordan's athleticism, as did everyone else.
Another L for Mustard on Kobe's overall impact, especially on the defensive end. Yes Wade is the better athlete, offball defender and blocker, and those are MJ qualities for sure. But Kobe is the better on ball defender, more versitile defender as he can handle 1-3 positions, of which can be said to be MJ qualities as well for sure. On offense, it's not even close. Wade prefers to slash, both MJ and Kobe prefers the mid range. Only MJ and Kobe have post up moves. And yes, you know you would rather have the ball in either MJ or Kobe's hands for the final shot of the game. You mentioned playmaking edge for Wade. Remember though that Kobe played in the Triangle offense, which is predicated on ball movement and passing. Kobe mastered and won championships with the triangle offense, and is #2 in overall assists for a SG. I'll give the edge to Kobe for playmaking for these reasons. Please reassess your thoughts on Kobe on the defensive end, it's really where your analysis is lacking, otherwise, great video 👌
The thing I hate with the Kobe discussion is that people always talk about the hypotheticals of Kobe’s career but never take Kobe’s career at face value. Yung Mustard your not making any sense with your athleticism tangent. Giannis got the most athleticism ever but if your throw a wall at Giannis he can get exposed with his lack of go to moves & perimeter jumper. You have no more proof that Wade would blow Kobe out the water if he was healthy, that’s just hearsay. Saying all these hypotheticals with no basis or evidence that these scenarios would ever happen regarding Kobe makes no sense to me. Kobe critics say Kobe was lucky to play with Phil Jackson, Shaq and Pau Gasol but other all time greats have a chance to play with great coaches & other greats but they don’t get discredited the way Kobe does. People say Iverson or TMac could’ve won if they played with Phil & Shaq. You can make all these scenarios about Wade, he still not on Kobe’s level. It’s nobody’s fault that Wade isn’t on Kobe’s level except for Wade, Wade just wasn’t good enough. You talk about people underrate Wade and overrate Kobe, it’s the opposite it seems like u underrate Kobe & overrated Wade. How do you know Wade would be over Kobe if he was healthy, you have no proof of it, that’s why these hypothetical stuff is BS. It’s getting really tiring to hear the same crap about Kobe’s career & legacy. Why is Kobe the only all time who gets discredited so much, it makes no sense. Bball fans have to stop being in love with the pretty #s & analytics. Yes Kobe didn’t have the best field goal % but his game transcended analytics. 50% from the field isn’t the end all be all to things especially with my Giannis example
Why do people keep saying wade wade wad injury prone? Wade never injured his knee during his nba career but he did injure his shoulder. Wade had knee issues from an outdated surgery he had before the nba. Check the record, all his nba knee issues were maintenance issues stemming from an outdated pre-NBA surgery. He had his left knee meniscus removed during his college career. That surgery is not done for pro athletes anymore, they repair the meniscus today like they did for Russell Westbrook during his nba career. So wade actually came into the league with left knee arthritis because of the meniscus removal...the meniscus is not required for everyday living, walking, or running, but it's a major cushion for the knee that pro athletes need for a long career.
Laughing my ass off worst idea for a video ever. Kobe is definitely the closest thing hands down there is literally 10 minute videos comparing the two and their moves and how similar they are. From mentality standpoint, how similar they are Kobe even walked like this man. Later down the line, Kobe got his own identity in my opinion as the black mamba, but even then he’s still the closest thing in similarities to Michael Jordan.
How long was DWade considered the best player in the league? That's where the real comparison begins. Dominating the NBA with the exact same play style and the same coach (hence the same system) is where Kobe is "the closest thing to MJ". The closest thing to something doesn't mean it's a carbon copy, it just means that nothing else has come closer. McDavid in hockey might be the closest thing to Gretzky we've ever seen even though it's not close. Kobe is much closer to Jordan than Wade in that regard
And also, Kobe didn't have nowhere near the size of MJ's hands, in part where Kobe couldn't grip the ball, fake a jump shot with one hand, or take it to the rim like him.
Change the name of the video your narrative goes way of the title, Wade was faster, more athletic resembling the first 3 peat Jordan that is why Kobe being the closest to Jordan is the biggest myth seriously the best clic bait in video making history.
Respectfully bro you confuse me very much, MJ had skill from the jump he didn’t develop it his later years he was able to relax more and depend on his teammates more their is a difference, MJ put that team on his back and once he had a chance to let off the gas some he was able to show more of what he had make no mistake about that.
The video started saying that Kobe is not the closest to Jordan and then you add Wade 🤔 so in your point is that Kobe is not the closest to Jordan because other players had better, quickness, and more defense than him I can tell you something despite Wade is a great player dude the whole thing the closest to MJ is…
I think too it’s that Kobe has more accolades than wade and so it makes Kobe’s legacy as a player much more significant comparable to Jordan’s than wade’s
Bro your percentage is going to change when your doing more in other areas but I like your videos so I ain’t trashing you at all just a bit off on some points, I lived that whole era
D Wade was great… no wonder lebron needed him to get that first ring… and then he needed Kyrie… and then Davis… lol 😂 But still, Kobe is the 1B to MJ’s 1A.
You do understand wade’s USA team lost in 04 and 06. I don’t want to hear nothing about the age. MJ not allowing that to happen and Kobe showed in 08 why he the best player of the 2000s wade is a better driver than Kobe and that’s it
Kobe wanted to be Kobe he just studied MJ and people decided he was the closest thing play wise that’s why he’s the closest d wade is only ahead athletically/defensively that’s it
Im so glad you mentioned the shot blocking, i feel like when it comes to these type of comparisions the defensive side is usually left out.

2005-2010 Wade played like a early Jordan. Kobe plays like a 96-98 Jordan
This might be the most accurate comparison
Wade 04-12
Kobe recreated the game of the 2nd three-peat Jordan very well.
The post-up, fadeaway, midrange centric game.
Kobe was an athletic beast to begin his career, like Jordan and they both transitioned their games similarly.

Put some respect on the late Kobe Bean Bryant young pups!!

wade’s peak is the best ever. so yes he’s better than all of them.
I mean Phil jackson also said kobe was an overrated defender and got some of his later first team all defensive based more on reputation than actual on court abilities in his later years
I don't rhino you watched. Kobe was a good defender but Wade terrorized

that’s how goated MJ was though , You kind of have to combine Wade & Bryant to Make a player like him
Dwyane Wade and Kobe Bryant were both exceptional athletes, and it's difficult to say definitively which one was better. However, there are a few factors that may give one player an edge over the other in certain areas:
Speed and quickness: Dwyane Wade was known for his incredible speed and quickness, which made him a difficult player to defend.
Kobe advantage
Size and strength: Kobe was a bit bigger and stronger than Wade, which may have given him an advantage in certain aspects of the game. Kobe was listed at 6'6" and 212 pounds during his playing days, while Wade was listed at 6'4" and 220 pounds. Kobe was also known for his strength and ability to overpower defenders in the post, which was not always a major part of Wade's game. Kobe advantage
Wade speed and quickness was more than Kobe and Wade was more explosive
@@anthonycelestin3559 Depends on how you look at it!
Speed: I got them close or would say even imo
Kobe Bryant: Kobe was known for his impressive speed, particularly in the open court and on fast breaks. His ability to outrun opponents and finish at the rim showcased his speed.
Dwyane Wade: Wade was also recognized for his speed on the basketball court. His quickness and ability to accelerate allowed him to blow by defenders and get to the basket.
Quickness: I give Wade the advantage here
Kobe Bryant: While KB had solid quickness, he was more renowned for his footwork, body control, and ability to create separation using his offensive moves and footwork.
Dwyane Wade: Wade was widely regarded as one of the quickest players in the NBA. His agility, lateral quickness, and ability to change direction rapidly made him difficult to
guard in one-on-one situations.
Explosiveness: I give Kobe the advantage here
Kobe Bryant: Bean was known for his explosive leaping ability, which he used to finish at the rim with powerful dunks and to contest shots defensively.
Bro you lost me at when you said Kobe was a overrated Defender that’s either Lack of understanding or Cap
Kobe and mj had the same post fade that’s why people compare them and they are both known to have that killer instinct or killer mentality.
Exactly, these are the biggest reasons why they are compared.
@mavricksands Kobe was definitely fundamentally sound for sure but I wouldn't say his fundamentals were better than Jordan's by any means.
Kobe is 9 time first team defender (most all time) for a reason
3. I will give you the playmaking of Wade peak wise; but longevity wise, Kobe wins in that category as well.

@@UTNatlChampsdude advanced stats is bullshit
Facts
Yes, and sapped his energy in games which made him inefficient at times

Valid points but u talkin like wade was better than kobe. Wade was amazing kobe had a higher peak and a longer career than wade
I'm done after this:
Defensive Win Shares (DWS): Defensive Win Shares is an estimate of the number of wins contributed by a player due to his defense.
“Get out of the prison garb and the thuggery aspect of basketball that has come along with hip-hop music in the last seven or eight years.”
I guess you side with Phil on this observation as well Mustard lol!
@@EricJohnsonresignPhil was a big kobe hater lol. He even tried trading him in 1999 for Jason Kidd and Shawn Marion. You spoke the truth
hahahaha this guy tryin to eclipse kobes legacy...
This vid is all cap
People be capping for kobe since he died
Wade's peak is underrated because he joined with other superstars to chase rings and lost half the seasons. He wasn't even the best player on that team so that is going to affect the perception of your career.
Not sure what that has to do with his peak
his peak was 09 or 06. His prime ended '11 so wrong.
his peak was 07-11, it ended in the lockout season.
The student and master thing is pushed bc it was true. Kobe & Mike have both talked about how kobe was like a little brother & would call him for guidance in situations.
I would still love to be caressed by Yung Mustards voice
💀💀💀
Very important for basketball fans.
Kobe is not a version of MJ. He's Kobe.
Same goes for D-Wade
Also. Not all stats are equal.
💯
Couldn't have said it better
You should have just said d wade is like young Mike, and Kobe is 2nd 3peat Mike. D Wade didn't elevate his jump shooting like Kobe and Mike. D Wade is my favorite player. I actually thought he was MJ at Marquette
So this Tuber really gone sway y'all to believe Wade was better than Kobe?
Never dude is clearly a Kobe hater
I’ve unsubscribed after this blasphemy 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hurts to hear the truth don't it
I been saying this!!!
To me Draymond is the best example of defensive IQ.
Kobe still better than Lebron 😂
no mustard just no lol
This guy is just BULL
Carbon copy doesn’t necessarily mean exact copy. You’re probably too young to know this, but if you’ve ever used a carbon copy document, you would know.
So is Kobe a carbon copy of MJ? Yes - his footwork, post game, shot selections is very similar to MJ - does it mean he’s the EXACT same as MJ? Nope, just like a carbon copy, not all aspects are transferred over exactly.
So yes, Kobe is a carbon copy of MJ, however does not mean he is exactly like MJ 🤷♂️
Clearly you didn’t watch the video
@@terelleconner6667 - nope I watched the video, he stated Kobe can’t be carbon copy as Wade was better as he played well on both ends 🤷♂️
He stated Kobe walked and talked like MJ however was not athletic like him……like that had ANYTHING to do with why people state Kobe is like MJ 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ people state he is like MJ because of his offensive prowess, footwork, mentality!
@@jonathana1644Wade is humble he now he better than kobrick overrated Bryant
It's not a myth. Wade himself said Kobe is better than him and Wade also said himself Kobe is the closest to Jordan. Jordan himself said Kobe is. If Jordan himself said it then its a done discussion.
Wade also said if not for injuries he'd be top 10 on shannon interview. He just sayin that out of respect.
@@JO136dits common sense that kobe is better then wade doesn't take rocket science.
It's all about aesthetics. The way Kobe plays looked more like Jordan but Wade has a closer playstyle to Jordan.
D wade is easily one of the most underrated players ever
Kobe respected wade. Lebron, not so much
Lol He Is Speaking Style Of Play. Wade Is Most Underrated Player Ever In My Book.
i agree
@@unplugdsessions8684 Yep. Hate He Had So Many Injuries. We’d Talk About Him So Differently.
Kawai got that Jordan in him as well
But Dwade didn’t have the fadaway & footwork like MJ.
Kobe played more like 2nd 3-peat Jordan, with the fadeaways, post-ups, mid-ranges and all. 1st 3-peat and before Jordan, it wasn’t even close.
Video is Blasphemous 🚮
Get out your feelings
The video started saying that Kobe is not the closest to Jordan and then you add Wade 🤔 so in your point is that Kobe is not the closest to Jordan because other players had better, quickness, and more defense than him I can tell you something despite Wade is a great player dude the whole thing the closest to MJ is…
Are you suggesting dwade is a better player than Kobe????? Or just the similarity to jordan?
1:17 Excellent point. Great point. No one ever talks about that. The videos already a success just from you making that point.
MJ not allowing that to happen and Kobe showed in 08 why he the best player of the 2000s wade is a better driver than Kobe and that’s it
Kobe wanted to be Kobe he just studied MJ and people decided he was the closest thing play wise that’s why he’s the closest d wade is only ahead athletically/defensively that’s it
PLEASE TELL IT, KOBE HAD CERTAIN SIMILARITY BUT DOESN’T COMPARE TO JORDAN DEFENSIVELY!
In bill Simmons book art of a beautiful game he said "the closest thing we have ever seen to MJ is dwane wade in the 06 nba finals"
I’m sorry. There’s never too many Michael Jordan videos. I’ll watch all of um. Sign me up. 🐐
3rd best sg of all time and personally my favourite i dont think there is a better shot blocker at the 2 than Dwade
I just wonder how Kobe would play in the NBA if he didn't play an entire facsimile of MJ for his entire career.
Great Video .. Dwade was early MJ .. better be glad he knees failed him people act like 06 ain’t happen smh
