Max. as you know, I have owned three porches. first was the 987.2 base 6 speed. Then came the 981 GTS. I ordered a 911 992 Targa 4S 2 years ago and have had it for a year. I can tell you that nothing sounds better than the 981 Cayman and nothing is more beautiful than the looks of a Cayman from the back 3/4 view
Ha ha, I remember that side of the country well. In fact I swore never to go M25 way to channel tunnel ever again after experiencing those concrete slabs of road! Expansion joints make for punishing journey. We’re SORNing soon but both have been at Porsche dealers to be fixed! Coffee meet would be great, somewhere between us both. We got as far as Amalfi coast road on our last run. Toying with Spain next time but after doing Switzerland, it’s hard to ignore whilst still having the freedom there.
Oh, and forgot to say….. Type 5! A petrol head that has a dilemma wanting to see the right outcomes for the environment so try to keep engine size down. Too many past cars to list but still to find the ultimate. The Cayman is a great sweet spot and very understated as all rounder.
Hi Max awesome content. We love our Cayman 981 2.7 and may keep for sometime it’s still rising in value and is such an awesome drive and looks. Ev’s are not selling well And looks like we may get more na options in the future Porsche lineup and possibly future electric models put on hold. Further down the track we may look at a 911 perhaps a 992 T or S model but it would have to exceed that Cayman cornering feel not so sure. At the moment also enjoying the new Macan GTS which is quite agile through quick corners and are taking it to the track in November as we got a free track voucher when we bought it. Living this content and really enjoy seeing other viewers cars and stories
Hi Max. Trust all is well. Great to see a video from you. I am in the ‘locked in’ category, or in a very slow ‘passing through’ category to a 997GTS. But happily locked in with my R.
Go through the entire range from 987 to 718 and discuss differences and layers of price and enjoyment. That would be a great new series. Love the channel.
4 years in with my 981S and have to say i think i fall into a ‘4’. I just love it. It does everything i want it to do and being well spec’d it feels special to me. Mind you, i look at the classifieds at GT4’’s and Spyder’s most nights 😂. Happy to feature it one day. We met at ‘b road’ last year 👍
Well I guess there is another group of people that just love to tinker. I have 718s . I kept it stock for a while but I loved the Techart aero body kit. I have now heavily modified it with twin exhausts and a remap full techart kit plus carbon side intakes. Perhaps contents might be to feature different people's Caymans and look at different things they have done. The extreme would be Matt Armstrong but it could be others that have modified them to GT3 bodykit Perhaps. Best Regards and thanks for sharing your passion
I had a 987.2 but became disillusioned with the cost of parts 'the Porsche tax'! So I had an MX-5 ND and now I'm waiting for a Toyota GR86, hopefully my final special car. Still remember those epic lockdown live sessions Max, Pinky Lau was epic.
Good memories, yes. I went from MX-5 NC to a GT86, both very nice cars and great to drive. Congrats to your GR86, hope it arrives soon ;), long wait for those...
Got a Cayman R only about 563 are America. I have a 991.1 Turbo S. If I had to let go of one it would be the Turbo S. I know shocking..... The R just sounds better, more involving and great size.
I am currently in type 2. I don't have chance to explore my 981 Cayman GT4 yet after being the custodian for just a week. I don't know whether I will stay in this Category or move along. But what I know is that I have got my inspiration from Max, who is definitely amazing. His genuine joy from his Cayman ownership has been my goal and I wish I can have such joy one day. Well done and please keep going Max. Quoted from Max: " Enjoying life and car to the Max"❤
Hi Max. Been exploring UA-cam for last 6 months. Picked yours up with Cayman interest as I have 2.7 981 and other half has Boxster 981! You have an interesting mellow presence that makes watching easy. You say you’ve run low on material so if you’re ever down in SW, get in touch. I’m trying to sort own videos if BTOReach ever get my internet sorted 😢. Done a couple of Euro trips. Simply the best as you can’t get anything like same experience over here, firstly due to poor roads, infrastructure in general and probably been everywhere anyway…..oh and the weather! Never give up, never surrender. All the best, Andy
Great timing to send this message!! Always makes me smile when I get a message like this. I’m drinking a cup of tea right now, looking at the grey sky and wet surfaces, central heating on, and I am literally wondering when the next road trip is. I was speaking to a guy who lives in Wales yesterday, and he said it’s 20mph North and South Wales. I’m all for road safety… need to assess what has happened to the limits on the A roads. I shouldn’t admit to this but I was flashed by a speed camera in a 20mph zone in London a few weeks ago in the family Honda… I was probably doing 25mph… you mention Europe… I feel the UK road surfaces are too poorly maintained now for fun driving, they have demonised and turn into a cash cow the speed cameras… I mean 24mph gets me in trouble now? I live not too far from Junction 10 on the M25, that area of the world… always up for meeting with Cayman owners even just for coffee. However for the months of Nov and Dec (and likely January), I won’t have any roadtax on my Cayman. Wasn’t worth funding HM Government for the pleasure of driving on the off road tarmac course which is the area I live in. Pot holes you could drop a bucket of tennis balls in. Anyhow, as you said I must never give up!! I’m definitely going back to Euro next year for a Black Forest trip. Thanks for your words and all the best to you too!
I think I'm a 5th type. I've had two Caymans, a 981 base and now a GT4. I love this chassis and the car is as perfect as you'd want a car to be from factory. However, I'm a modder. So the choice of more power, better handling, better braking, better luxuries, nicer looking there's always something to tweak, mod, change or test. Huge race precision can be unlocked via suspension tuning and some parts even while keeping or even gaining comfort in non sport settings. Brakes can be immensely better with the right parts. Acceleration can be significantly better without compromising for drone or other side effects. List goes on.
Probably a 4 atm. 981 GTS. I do have a 987.1 Boxster S too mind. When were you on the road. I did an epic 12 day road trip to Germany, the Alps, Italian Lakes and Southern France (inc Monaco). 7-18 Jul. The Cayman was made for it!
fell in love at first sight took my breath away the feelings shocked me had to have it base cayman so now have 2 base and gts 4..0 oh and macan s insane
I'm between Existing and Halo. I love my 981 CS, and track it here in MN. I'm very happy with it, but do sometimes feel a pang when those with lots more HP than I pass me on the straightaways. At that time I think about whether a GT4 would really quell that itch, or whether it would convert me to Passing Through to a 911. Thanks for this video, really enjoyed it!
Hi Tom… I’ve simply run low on material… I have my halo Cayman, I’ve spent all the money there is to make it new to me, and now I just use it. Not sure people want to see a video of me just driving around ;-)
Come on Max, bring your joy to us😊 I will go to the Porsche driving experience in track in Zhuhai, China soon. I hope I can share with you soon video clips then
Hi Max, I have a 987.2 in white with black wheels/ mirrors/ grills etc it looks amazing I have wanted one since they came out but had to wait until early 2022. Its full main dealer history etc but I have a few subtle mods I want to do, Cayman R springs and black stripes. I drove over to Belgium last year to get the Carnewal exhaust fitted. I love the car and my intention is to pass it on to my son. Unless of course I ever won the lottery and bought the Cayman GT4 RS 😂 Keep up the content friend. Ray
Great to hear from Cayman owners around the World… this channel has effectively been my journey with the Porsche Cayman platform. Still trying to find angles to keep bringing material while sticking with my existing car.
2006 CS its a fantastic car! im eventually going to trade up to either a 981 GTS, GTS 4.0 or a 981 GT4, im starting to like the GT4 but i don't intend on tracking it.

@@MAXREVS WOW!
Just googled it. Limited to 100 cars. Only germany. 15 years Sports Cup Hockenheim. Great!
I heard they were mostly made on a Monday by hungover production line workers on apprenticeship 😂😂
@@phillipmcmahon5949 Thus the car was manufactured according to Porsche quality standards. Loveless for show and shine.
My Cayman GTS was my first Porsche and will be my forever car. I hope to add a 911 in the future but the Cayman won’t be traded or sold.

For the straights you should look at the turbo version 718S. That definetly can keep up with the GT4.
I literally was just thinking: "I wonder when Max will make his next video?". great video Sir
