Something like a big srtum will create a big wave in the sound track from your camera on in the track you are recording, that way you can synch better. Final Cut has an option that will automatically synch the video and audio. Nice Video! Grüsse aus Mexiko!
I did by connecting my computer to my Marshall Megastack amplifier via the MP3 input so I could change the sound of the music I was playing in multiple places at once. These: - the front of the amplifier - the main volume slider on your computer -and the music player's own volume slider. It gives a pretty good sound effect. I hope I could help someone.
Pretty sure in Reaper you can actually have the metronome on a track with it's own transients. So you could load a separate track with a 4 count click in, shoot the performance footage and you could match the transients when syncing your recorded track by the 4 count in the camera audio, to the 4 count click on your recorded audio. Once synced up you could edit out the 4 count click on the performance footage, unless your film editing software doesn't work that way I suppose.
That doesn't work all the time since some songs have different timings 😂 the time I save with setting up a metronome is consumed with synching. Thanks for the advice though!
JJ's One Girl Band no problem, though I should have probably clarified. I meant set up the metronome for the 4 count intro only. So you would only have to sync that with the 4 count intro your camera audio picks up when you shoot the performance footage and the rest of the footage should be synced as well. But with that said I’m not entirely familiar with your film edit software and I might be missing something 🤔🤔🤔
Great video! There's a much easier way to sync the audio to the video btw.. You can just insert a click track inside Reaper. Hit record on your camera, then hit record in Reaper and let the click play for a bit before your backing track comes in. Drag your videos into Reaper and you can perfectly line up the wave form of the click, to your actual click track. Then you can export to Sony Vegas with the audio already synced to each camera angle.
That is a nice hint but it won't work for me 😅 As I explained I cannot use my monitors and all I hear on my cam is the acoustic sound of my guitar. No click will be heard because of that.
Definitely go for a Focusrite Scarlett Solo. Great interface with almost no latency which is great for live sound monitoring. As for the video editing software, I highly recommend Davinci Resolve. They have a free version and though it uses a lot of processing power (I recommend having a pc with 12 gigs of RAM or more), it's great for editing and for color correction
I have bought a Steinberg UR22 as my first device. Because It's very easy to sell it for almost the same price, if you won't play a guitar any more. It's very popular and handy
just use the clap trick to synq audio and video add a clap sound to the backtrack before you film your video, and you will see it in your cameraaudio when you edit your video, just remermber to put the clap early enough so cut it away from the video without ruining your intro ;)
But I don't use my monitors so that I won't hear the clap in the camera audio xD The idea would be a count-in followed by the clap that I immitate, then I can synch =)
Yes, you are not able to monetize your videos (e.g. I don't make anything from my videos) and you risk a worldwide blocking :( It's about being lucky or not.
Heyyy how do you usually get a permission for using the original music as a background in ur cover videos? I've seen like literally 12(or more) sources(companies) per song to ask for(permission), or is it something automatical that YT gives you? I am thinking of starting to record something, but this seems like a bit of a problem.
You have to check the copyright in UA-cam itself. There is a data bank where you can search the song and get an idea whether it gets blocked or not. UA-cam itself gets the licences, not me xD my latest Skillet cover has been blocked worldwide until I found a funny solution by speeding it up by 1% 😂 so... I am sorry, the labels told me they don't give licences to anyone and I also do struggle 🤷🏼♀️
At around 12:16 when you talk about the markers thing, do you record parts of songs or do you play all the way through? I really love metallica but it seems impossible for me to play a song all the way through so accurate, that it would be worth showing on youtube. However I always say to myself, well when they play live, they won't be doing that and they are layering in the studio as well and only recording parts I suppose. So...my question would be, how do I know, if I can actually play a part / the whole song even when I'm messing up. (You know...the human factor thingy) greetings from Dortmund by the way :D You rock and I think it's awesome, that you have such different content!

Great info and bonus points for using a schecter 🤟
7:42 (In Hank Hill Voice) 'Connected to ma what now?'
Found this very educational! 🤘🏾
Hi Jassy.
Im thinking about to start recording myself playing guitar and this vídeo was really helpful.
Thank you 🤟🏻
I'm gonna buy an audio interface in the summer.
Any suggestions?
Also does anyone know any good free video editors for PC
David Nwokoye the focusrite scarlett is very good and a big bang for the buck
Well I talk about my recommendations in the video xD
Steinberg UR22
Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6
Focusrite Scarlett
Definitely go for a Focusrite Scarlett Solo. Great interface with almost no latency which is great for live sound monitoring. As for the video editing software, I highly recommend Davinci Resolve. They have a free version and though it uses a lot of processing power (I recommend having a pc with 12 gigs of RAM or more), it's great for editing and for color correction
Thanks for the recommendations guys 👍👍👍
I have bought a Steinberg UR22 as my first device. Because It's very easy to sell it for almost the same price, if you won't play a guitar any more. It's very popular and handy
I love this girl .
Super helpful! Thank you.
Now that you mention it, a video on Bias would be great. I might tweak a setting here or there, but I never really know what I'm doing. :)
Many many thanks for helpfull and very interresting video ! Tchusssss
Glad you liked it! =) Have a nice weekend! =)
just use the clap trick to synq audio and video
add a clap sound to the backtrack before you film your video, and you will see it in your cameraaudio when you edit your video, just remermber to put the clap early enough so cut it away from the video without ruining your intro ;)
But I don't use my monitors so that I won't hear the clap in the camera audio xD The idea would be a count-in followed by the clap that I immitate, then I can synch =)
Are there any copyright issues or things to consider when uploading covers of bands?
Yes, you are not able to monetize your videos (e.g. I don't make anything from my videos) and you risk a worldwide blocking :( It's about being lucky or not.
@@JassyPabst Awesome, thanks a lot! That's very helpful. Been wondering about that for a while. Makes sense with the money aspect and all.
I am sorry, the labels told me they don't give licences to anyone and I also do struggle 🤷🏼♀️
she earned the mega babe title for being so kickass
At around 12:16 when you talk about the markers thing, do you record parts of songs or do you play all the way through? I really love metallica but it seems impossible for me to play a song all the way through so accurate, that it would be worth showing on youtube. However I always say to myself, well when they play live, they won't be doing that and they are layering in the studio as well and only recording parts I suppose. So...my question would be, how do I know, if I can actually play a part / the whole song even when I'm messing up. (You know...the human factor thingy) greetings from Dortmund by the way :D You rock and I think it's awesome, that you have such different content!
Hello! Are you still using interface NI 6 or the new one?
Very very clear informartion, easy to follow, thanks alot :)

Thank you so much for the very good information.
You're so pretty. I love you!!!
This was very informative and thorough! Good for you and congrats on your success! Just curious but was the guitar pitch changed in the vst? It sounded a bit like detuned from the other guitar sound? Cheers
Yes indeed! I forgot to tell you that I used my Whammy DT to record. So the strings are in Drop D, the Audio Signal in Drop C 🙈
War kurz davor mir so ne GoPro Halterung für 50€ zu kaufen. Hab ich mir hiermit gespart, simpel aber effektiv 👍
Manche Sachen sind einfach zu teuer xD

It is! I do live streams like that =)

This video is great! I was wondering, do you record the complete song or do you record each section individually?
Like in my covers I do complete song takes :)

Whats the background music? It sounds awesome.
