'...This EP (which was released four years after their debut) highly smells of traditionality and reeks of vintage attitude. Not only the band name, as well as the title of their current disc make the guesswork of what the inclined listener gets pretty easy. Heavy Metal in its exciting form! The Canadians have a total of five tracks on “Heavier Than Metal” in the talon, all of them characterized by wonderful guitar melodies as well as solo passages that are no less reminiscent of “back then”. The rather high voice of front-man Jackie Slaughter borrows from earlier heroes of the classic eras. Alison Thunderland, the lady behind the drum kit, is of course committed to the old school and knows how to present her style officially. The pace is mostly quite high, only for ‘Ride The Beast’ the Canadians tried acoustically voiced, mediterranean style melodies in the intro, which provide variety. ‘No False Metal’ as the finale of this EP, shows the strength of guitarist Sir Shred in twin guitar school and the singer screams stunningly crooked, thus made the whole composition very rousing and one of the most memorable in the period of little over 20 minutes. These Canadian maniacs are surely possessed by Heavy Metal and know how to prove their attitude musically.....' @Christopher David: Of course they got bassist. Just listen closely. ;) And remember, it's an EP. So the sound quality is not thaaaaaaaat good like a proper album's sound quality and unfortunately YT actually takes the quality down. :/
No way. Skull Fist is by far superior to Dark Forest. The latter's singer sounds like having a hard time in the steam room, whereas Jackie Slaughter is at par with the full-charge Dave Mustaine we had in the 80s.
Cristian Cuevas Vallejo I actually shed a tear when they announced it... I still have high hopes for their 2016 release, but without Jackie, I doubt it will hold a candle to anything they've done

Dark forest are a band you must listen to if you like these

He ment the description of this video, they forgot to name the bass-player. You can hear the bass clearly :)!

They could have been the best metal band in the future, but Jackie(Singer) decided to end that dream... No Jackie No Skull Fist
Cristian Cuevas Vallejo I actually shed a tear when they announced it... I still have high hopes for their 2016 release, but without Jackie, I doubt it will hold a candle to anything they've done

A pity the man who wrote the song ''Don't Stop The Fight'' and ''Chasing The Dream'' did not follow his philosophy
