I have been watching Charlies video's for over a year now and I'm gradually "bagging" the Munro's from my armchair. Ciste Dhubh has just surprised me - very rugged with an impressive summit, and surrounded by superb hills in all directions. Charlie's videos are just fantastic in every aspect and cannot be praised highly enough. Thanks for allowing me to experience the Munro's from Lincoln, England. We're a little lacking in mountain interest in the English East Midlands!

Hi Dave, Yes, we keep a good eye on the weather and try and match the best days for walking through the winter. It helps being retired and having a choice other than the weekend. It's also good getting north of the great glen before traveling this distance is more challenging. Cheers

A fantastic day you got Charlie and always great to get a bit of snow at the top, I done them last month a really enjoyable walk i dropped back down to take Mullach Fraoch choire as missed out doing the last time i was up but that drop down and back up i underestimated was absolute done when i got back to the van. Brilliant once again Charlie & Mike👏 what a diff a dusting of snow makes, absolutely fantastic views, must have felt great crunching thru the snow to that amazing munro. I love this munro. And yes what a spot for a wee cup of tea, brilliant. We were closer to home on sat doing the the Brack, conditions were fantastic but no snow. Great edit again Charlie, ATB Frank

Am Bathach used to have a few groups of pine trees, really looked great. Sadly trees have been felled. A great video out Ciste Dubh, showing winter is approaching. Good advice to take the ice gear with you and use it.
A fantastic area shown to wonderful effect by - as usual - excellent camera work. I was on Beinn Mhanach yesterday and there was a light covering of snow at the summit, but the rest of the journey was sunny and bright. I'm not familiar with many of the hills up in Kintail but I love the area. Magnificent. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes, Murdo

Hi Charlie, hi Mike, wonderful views, we were in the higher hills yesterday in the Lake District. We had a light dusting of snow on the North East side of them, nothing major but it’s lovely to see. All the best gents Dave.
Hi Charlie, was on the Brothers the week before this and though the snow looked straightforward, and I managed without the ice axe, the crampons were on as soon as I slipped on the first skitey frozen footprint puddle on the ridge. It was actually easier on the rocky ridge bits than the off ridge paths that were obscured by snow inviting a slip or trip. It meant missing out Ciste Dubh, which looked as fine as you had it, but I got a Brocken to compensate. Tremendous views of Affric and beyond. Not a soul seen all day. Thanks for the views back from the bit I missed out on. What a cracking day! Looking forward to your next outing, Cheers J.

More lovely filming. I did Sgur nan Conbhairean and 2 other Munros down there the other week, but no snow. What sort of boots were you wearing on the day that would take crampons?

Hello, We use a simply pair of Grivel G10 Evo which suits our needs just fine. There are certainly some situations where ice spikes just won't be enough for mountain winter conditions but obviously it all depends on your individual targets. Cheers

Hello, We both prefer slightly more rigid boot sole for our walking and I use the Scarpa Ribelle HD all the year round. Cheers
