What Is the Deal With the Stanley Cup?

- The Stanley cup is what everyone’s been talking about. It’s become somewhat of the holy grail of beverage containers. And yes, it’s also a famous NHL trophy, too. Possessing the $45 Stanley Quencher has become a phenomenon in recent years. But did you know that the Stanley brand has been around for 111 years? Stanley invented the isolated container back in 1913. Inside Edition Digital’s Leigh Scheps has more.
Yeah, alot of insulated cups and bottles can do this. Only reason people think its amazing is because its popular right now
Really?
@@PennyMsElite Yes
The vacuum in between does wonders
@PennyMsElite yeah. Idk about fire for sure, but I had like a 20$ insulated bottle from Walmart and kept it in the car in very hot humid sunny heat for 24 hours and it was still cold and had ice
@ch3m1c4I_c0ff1n what was the cup named I NEED it for runs lol
@Chisthebest0 just look for any vacuum insulated cup. Stanley, Yeti, Thermos, etc...
My dad got me my first Stanley bottle back in late 2019 when Hydro Flasks were becoming a craze at my high school. Really needed a new water bottle at the time. Whenever some of the other students saw my bottle, they would tease me just because I didn't have a Hydro Flask. Little did they know few months later, many of their bottles already had bad dents on them while mine was still in very good condition with no dents at all and I still use the very same bottle 5 years later lol
love hearing how people got the last laugh lol
Now you got a bottle that’s gets tested positive for lead now💀💀💀
flex
lol gottem
😭

2023 Kids: Dear Santa all I want is a Stanley cup for Christmas
My 10 yr old asked Santa for one
Don't forget skincare

Dad: time to go skating practice, i guess.
2025 kids: i want gta 6 for Christmas
Oh my gosh! I think my Grandpa had a Stanley thermos now that I think about it. He was always filling it with coffee at 5 6 in the morning getting ready to head for harvest season. Farming was his life.
@Kodakicy I don't care either way. When I watched the video and saw the green Stanley thermos it just brought up a core memory for me.
exactly same for me and my dad. He was a blue collar worker and I remember him always going to work with a thermos..so it's also a triggering memory especially since I loat him in 2021
They came with the metal lunch box.
@@lotusgrl444 ❤️❤️
If you camp or hike or travel, Stanley brand has always been tried and true. I have a Hydro Flask for coffee and the stainless steel has no more insulation. All my Stanley products kick butt.
What do you mean by no more? Does it lessen over time? Mine works great and I purchased it for $12 “open box.”
At my local target there’s 2 armed security guards , They acting like it’s Jewlery 😂
LMAO. High end jewelry at that.
Stanley is what American produced goods used to be.
Amen.
Teh cup is outsourced...
I bought a water bottle from costco. It sat in the car all day in over 100 degrees weather
....it still had ice and cold water at the end of the day. It cost me a little over 20 bucks.
Inside Edition you're not very good at hiding sponsors I'm gonna be honest
😂😂😂 for real
They would have to disclose it as a sponsor. It's not sponsored.
Its not a sponsor, it is federal regulation where Inside Edition is based that all sponsorships must be clearly disclosed and visible, or else the FTC will fine you. UA-cam also has a strict declaration policy.
I have a Yeti. Works just as good.
“The Stanley Cup (French: La Coupe Stanley) is the championship trophy awarded annually to the National Hockey League (NHL) playoff champion. It is the oldest existing trophy to be awarded to a professional sports franchise in North America, and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) considers it to be one of the "most important championships available to the sport".” Per Wikipedia
The only correct answer 😎
That’s the only Stanley Cup I know
@@NLGabriel75Absolutely!
$45 is a little bit high for something like this. This is my first time hearing about this cup. The only Stanley Cup that I ever knew about before now was the NHL Stanley Cup trophy.
buddy, no one asked and no one cares
@@skyyyrose
@skyyyrose you can already buy a vacuum insulated thermos for way cheaper.
They just want people to buy it
Those cups used to sell for 6 bucks before this internet craze.
my grandma still has her stanley thermos. she had it since at least the 80's. she remembers letting me drink from it when I was a baby and now i'm 38. she had it a long time
My Stanley thermos is older than you😂
@@jonniehickson5599 how long have you had it?
Honestly I don’t get the hype of the cup it’s just a cup and it’s expensive and honestly not all that cool
I get it but that cup still holding ice after the fire was kinda cool if true.
45 dollars for a cup? No thank you.
It's one of the best. I had the Stanley Thermo flask for my hot chocolate back in the 2000s for work. And life time warranty just shows you how much they back some of their products. Great product.
This Remind me that Chicken Sandwich Freakout a While back. You all Know what i am Referring to.
I just finished my spicy chicken sandwich from Popeyes 😂
@@lachellee Lol
Honestly it’s just a trend, but it’s useful.
It’s kind of a nicer tend too. I got one for Christmas and I’ve been carrying it around and drinking much more water than I normally would 😂
I got a black stanley thermos as a gift for doing a safety worksheet at my job in UPS. Its my favorite cup and it keeps my drinks cold for almost a week, the ice inside never melts and it looks amd feels durable and amazing. I covered it in stickers too.
They still didn't say why they're so popular, saying "it's a popular trend" is not enough to go on
Wow, this is terrific. If I was a hockey player, I’d rather be join the Flyers. I wish I had the skills to do rollerblading and ice-skating.
All , I know is the working class had them , my dad worked at a factory, and I was all Stanley. And the guys he worked with . In the 70s , 80s and 90s is was the working class.
The NHL needs to say something about this
Is this a real vid or a really good advert? Hard to know these days! Is Inside Edition Digital really advertising for Stanley?
My Dad had one in the 70’s that thing was the toughest!
Danielle created the BEST ad I’ve seen in a while 🤑
As a lifelong die hard hockey fan, this infuriates me.
45$ for a cup, crazy!
They keep your drinks cold and it comes in variety of colors and I have the new pink cup. It was like 10 left at the Target I went to.
Only twenty hours?? My cup keeps ice for four days then after the ice melts it keeps the drink cold an extra day..
Reduce
It's literally any old insulated bottle. You can get a Yeti, Hydro Flask, or even a Bubba, and you'll have the same satisfaction.
It’s cool that it’s really nice quality but I don’t understand why people need every single color when it’s a reusable cup that you use over multiple times
I will never understand people's obsession with Stanley bottles. I remember my grandparents having them. I also had one growing up as a child. So this new was obsession with tumblers bottles was surprising. How have people never heard of these types of bottles before.
Well you can't expect kids to know about the Stanley Brand before it went viral. Now they know and Stanley is now more popular than ever...😂
It may end up harming their brand in the long run.
@@9395gb How so??? The worst that can happen is they go back to previous sales numbers.
don't buy overpriced Stanley cups. Even Walmart's own Ozart cups can hold ice for just as long... at only $10 each. Yes, I compared both. $10 vs $45(or more)... don't overpay just because it has "Stanley" on it. ...(yes, also looking at you, YETI, the king of overpriced everything) :)
Walmart doesn't have a lifetime warranty or sell replacement lids.
When I read the title. I the it was about THE Stanley Cup (NHL). Not a Stanley cup.
Every girl at my school has a Stanley water bottle
Gen Z thinking they invented something again. Guess what, it never went anywhere.
I personally like Reduce tumblers more, they not only look better to me, and have a good colour choice for their tumblers and travel mugs and such, but also fell better and have a really nice rubber base to them so they don't damage furniture or slide around. I have been using their older versions which have a metal base, not a big fan of that, and don't have measuring lines inside the cup which I didn't think I would use but I actually do. I have 3 newer 24oz tumblers from Reduce and I have not been happier with a thing to drink from. I put all sorts of drinks in it, hot or cold, and mainly use the straw that came with it, but even with the straw in it, I can have ice all day long even while refilling it 2 or 3 times, which the newer water is what melts the ice the most as it chills the water. I even put a Tim Hortons Iced Capp in mine, a large fits perfectly in a 24oz cup, and I don't like a melted iced capp, but this cup keeps it the way I like it all day long, and longer as I have once in a while put the iced capp into the cup, and forgot it until 24 hours roughly had passed, and it was still mostly good, just needed to be stirred up and it is good to go. I may not be onboard with Brand Loyalty in the vast majority of cases, but I simply wont use any other brand when it comes to insulated cups, mugs, tumblers, growlers, whatever...
The only other brand I am loyal to would be Samsung regarding their phones, not really anything else they make, as I refuse to use any other phone. I am looking into replacing my Galaxy S10+, already had my hands on an S22 Ultra but had to send it back because well, I bought it used and it came with screen burn, which is a big "Hell No!" for me, I can't stand screen burn, I can put up with scratches and scuffs and maybe a chip, but if there is a crack or screen burn, away with it!
Ceo says we probably never do it again replacing the car 😂 that was harsh
So no one would get any ideas 😂
Yeah I'm side eyeing that comment
I’m more of a Yeti fan personally
Born in 1963, I remember my Dad using a Stanley thermos.
Is yeti better ?
Well.....always keep water in the cup and the 🔥 is put out instantly
It's a cup. It's a goddamn cup.
OH MY GOD IT'S JUST A CUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yetti >>> Stanley
watching this while drinking my Stanley
i really hate that guy but stanley stopped producing in america a long time ago and sources it from china like pretty much EVERY company lol you can actually buy the cups from manufacture you just wont get logos
It's $45 for a goddamn CUP. Sheesh... a fool and his/her money is easily parted!
I want one so bad!!! A pink one!
I prefer my Yeti bottle, it looks better than those bulky Stanley cups
See, I'm the opposite, I think Yeti's stuff is ugly.
Alright, I was wondering what the Stanley hubbub was about. I thought this is another overblown TikTok thing. I remember seeing that story about the woman, the car fire, and Stanley. This is such a wholesome story. Also, the Stanley thermos also brings back fond memories. I have my own. One of my favorite kitchen items. Keeps hot water hot for 3 days.
Waiting for my pink one to arrive 😂
How much in USD (or CAD)?
I love pink! It's my favorite color!
Thank you for this video… I was lost in the sauce, haha.
my dad had 1 when we was kids when he worked at a machine shop
I grew up with Stanley thermos’s and I’ve had the 40oz quenchers way before it was cool. No one cared because it wasn’t a Yeti or Hydroflask.
What’s next a cereal bowl called the “Super Bowl?”
😅 we need that.
Who drinks coffee after 20 hours ? That coffee would had turned.
They gave her a brand new car , talking about blessing in disguise. Good for her
It's like a less expensive Yeti cup.
NHL has entered the chat
I’ll just keep using my $15 water bottle that will do the same thing. At the end of the day it’s just a cup. Two years from now it won’t be a thing, if that long. Stanley is a good brand, but I’m not financing a cup. 😂😂
first it was hydro flask now this
Next will be disposable Styrofoam cups.
Stanley, a American staple of Steel thermos.
Caring about quality and it's customers, unlike most companies nowadays.
Who in their right mind would pay more than $40 for a travel mug?!!! Waste of $$ if you ask me.
I bought and insulated cup from Walmart 4 years ago… still got, still works. $20
So not hockey?
I can put ice in my Stanley Friday morning at 6am when I start work and I will still have ice in it Sunday night. I love my Stanley
my cousin is stocked up with that. I never understood why its like such a huge deal
Paying $50 for a insulated Mug, just to put a $3 drink in it? HARD PASS!
We have a Stanley thermos that’s been in our family for decades, we’d always fill it with hot chocolate to take out to the hills when we’d go sledding and snowboarding :”
i remember my first stanley cup. it was my dogs name and he had a cup for water. good times
I have a really weird idea. If those cups exists as keeping the content the exact same temperature for hours, or days in that matter, why not create a heat converted to power generator from those cups?
ur onto something
Law of thermodynamics energy cannot be created nor destroyed. If you generate electricity (electrical energy) then you will lose heat (thermal energy).
These cups can stay hot/cold because it's isolated. What stays in stays in, what stays out stays out. Minimize the things that interacts with them.
If you add a generator there it would interact with the molecules and you lose that isolated system
Thank God. I was waiting for him to replace the car.
"Also a famous NFL trophy too?" Once upon a time the only way you could get the Stanley Cup is with YEARS of practice and teamwork!
The NHL will sue it.
That cup was here before the nhl cup
@@SIMPLYJFF Does not matter to the NHL, because the NHL has much more money for lawyers.
In this a commercial pretending to be a news story?
My coworkers and I received a Stanley Cup for Christmas and each of them were personalized with each of our unique interests.
Wow how exciting!!🙄🥱
I literally asked this to my sister all the time, and she still doesn’t wanna answer
Give me a YETI cup!
Give me a yeti anyday
That is a cup made by Stanley. Not the Stanley Cup Coup
My mom would love this she has plenty of these types of cups
Watching this as I hold my Stanley 😂
Well I definitely wanted to know what the big deal was. 😂
the car catching on fire and their still being ice in the cup was a marketing stunt that obviously worked.
keep buying Stanley
Proud owner of the survival stanley kit. Might have to use it here soon 😅
the yeti hipsters jumping ship 😂
My mom threw away my grandpa’s 40 year old one. That would’ve fetched a good price. Dang it! 😂😅
Me at age 10 : Plays with Gogo my walking pup, Barbie and Babysitter's club dolls
These kids at age ten: Plays with Stanly cups and Sephora mixing all the testers and buying anti wrinkle cream.
I got one sitting on my desk at my office that I got as a gift, I've never used it. I'm sure it's fine but don't get the hype really. I'll stick with my Owalla or Yeti
Awwh! I’m glad she got her new car!
manufactured mass hysteria
I’ll say it again: if not for the trends, this would (still) be considered a cup adored by dads.
The only Stanley cup the leafs can lift
Sheep buying sheep products
I have a water bottle I got at Walmart that holds 2 liters (I think). It literally does the same thing as Stanley and hydro flask
Is this a news article or an advertisement?
My father used to call it a thermos
I saw this, so wholesome ❤ the burnt car
