I love this, it makes me think of my mama and grandma (nanny) and my sister. We all would sing while mama played piano or guitar. Now I'm the only one left. I miss them. 😢
Lovely, ladies. God bless you for bringing comfort to the bereaved. Helping the family of the departed is really helping the one who passed on, and with no possibility of them expressing their gratitude. So anything one can do in that regard is of great merit, for it is the purist form of giving that has no chance of recompense.
Your singing takes me back to times of joy and times of sadness. These were times I was close to the earth and all it had to give. Just the sounds of newly awakened birds on a warm spring morning was enough to remind me that life at its fullest need not be complex, only simple. Now that I live in the shadows of a city I realize, too late, what I have lost. Thank you for singing me back home, if only for awhile.
I pray you can be in a place out of the city where are you can feel close to the earth and hear the birds singing in the morning and be at peace and have joy overflowing in your heart soon and very soon. Have a blessed day. And God bless…
I used to work in a cemetery overnight, and legend has it, you could see Angels in cemeteries, near waterfalls, sometimes churches, and at the end of rainbows
That was awesome. I've always wondered how bluegrass people harmonize vocally. Not only was I entertained, but I also learned something. That harmonization was clear as day.
That was beautiful ❤️ You show much respect 🙏🌹💜 It brought tears to my eyes, thinking of family and friends who've passed on. An epitaph I had engraved on my wife's stone reads: Death Is Just A Shadow Across The Path To Heaven Ramona 🌹 my highschool sweetheart, My wife...(b.1954-d.2013) 🪶🪶🪶
If I’m still alive I will sing about the Pressley ladies! Two incredibly beautiful, talented women that made their troubled world a better place! Love you both and your family too so much!
I think it's so awesome that you play at the cemetery for your beloved departed. I took up the banjo, and have only learned by watching videos, and don't know much, but I bring the banjo to my sister's grave, and play what I know.
Walking the cemetery is a joyful time, the older one becomes.Seeing all those names on the grave stones reminds us that others have successfully made the journey all the way Home. Our time will come, but maybe not just yet. Maybe we will be called Home today, but maybe the call will come years from now. We don’t know. What we do know is that we are travelers, just passing through and as we journey we are privileged to share the time with Jesus every step of the way.
all I can say is wow.... awesome, I have listened to this song 4 times so far, more to come I promise, and like someone else posted, it brings back such memories to me, both happy and sad, but cherished all the more. you two have a gift and I am thankful that you have chosen to share it with the world, hope to get to see a show with you two one day.
The world needs more young folks like you that love their roots. Through determine and sacrifice I never left my home in the hills and now my grandchildren are here. I hope to encourage them to love this area and to teach them some of the old ways before I am gone.
That was beautiful, Girls, but I've come to be nothing but impressed with your talent! The mountains in the background are stunning, as they always are. We certainly live in God's country!
I love it! Thank you. The day my mom passed, as the undertakers were taking her from the hospital to the funeral home, all ten of us were gathered and sang, "Will the circle be unbroken." Her spirit had left her earthly body, but I'm certain she felt the love. The love that she had given us, which is given to all by God through Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
Loved the song, loved the singing but I also loved the location. It seems to me that early new year is a good time to remember the past, and say a little “ Thanks and Rest In Peace “ to those who have gone before.
I love walking thru old cemeteries looking at the old stones. Spending my young adult life in the Military makes me look at the old Military Graves. As I leave the gate, I turn and render a salute, paying respect to all of those who made the Ultimate Sacrifice for this Great Nation. You young lassies keep doing what you are doing. I love your music.
I grew up on the ridge adjacent to the ridge that the Carter's grew up on. I went to high school about 3miles from Ralph's house. My youngest sister's kids went to school with Ralph's son (Ralph Stanley the second). Old cemeteries and a song from home 💗
The first time I ever heard this song was by your grandpa and your uncle. It was so cool. And to hear y'all doin' it is just fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful gift.
They are thankful.
This makes me want to cry ,miss my mommy and daddy ,ma and pa and all the rest ❤️
Nice weather💚 wind chill & hail in sunny' Ireland 😎
That’s strange weather!
I also love old graveyards.
Look at those little crumbly old gravestones.
Just so sweet! Love the harmony! Just think you both are precious!
This is so sweet girls. I ask Gods blessing on you today!
Beautiful Song & Beautiful Voices!
I love this, it makes me think of my mama and grandma (nanny) and my sister. We all would sing while mama played piano or guitar. Now I'm the only one left. I miss them. 😢
One of my oldest favorites!
Good job ladies .
That high lonesome sound gets me every time. Play on Angel Band.
Thank you! ❤️🙏
A favorite song of ours. My little girl likes to sing it with the Ralph Stanley accent ♥️

What a touching song! I think it was very appropriate to sing it in that peaceful cemetery among the beautiful mountains.

Lovely!
1797...wow. I wonder how old the one after that was too. Never seen one that looked quite that worn. Gravestones can sure tell a story.
Beautiful job ladies..
