Never thought it will happen, right? Well, finally we can get to The Shard in freeroam without any cheats nor trainers! But... well, prepare yourself for 3 hours long MEC marathon!

So it finally happened, even though everyone thought it was impossible! Congratulations my friend, you've finally conquered one of the greatest of challenges this game has to offer. It was a pleasure working with you on this one!
Is there still a way to teleport there?
I am currently playing catalyst on the xbox one and just beat it. I see your name on top of the shard and have teleported there. Is it still possible to get inside on the xbox one? I tried doing the drop but to no avail.
Man....when you're flying through the air it's like your traveling to another dimension or something, like in Interstellar.

I can't even say how thankful I am for people who keep looking for ways to access out of bounds areas. I hope someone will eventually reach the bridge in glass or the buildings on the other side of the highway.
Mateusz Felix yesss. It has been a personal goal of mine to reach the dance club in Centurion Yards by console. You can do it on PC with mods but console is so difficult!

Anyhow, using this new method should allow you to reach pretty much any solid area of the entire map.

The game has a dynamic location save system, so i think what would happen would be just you losing breadmode but still spawning on the top! :D

They added it to the ingame 3D map, so I guess it also works in the game world by default.
So does the city of glass. The map works in conjunction with the player. If it says it on the map, it will show up in game.

When you consider the shard is almost as tall as the Citadel from Half Life 2, this makes a lot more sense

He glitched using a cutscene (so he is kinda invincible to fall damage and death bariers) and the game thinks he's still in a cutscene thus not rendering the model

I want to know how they figured out exactly how much time to levitate up into the air lol
trial and error lol. Now we have a better way to figure out skydive climbing times with maths and some programs, but when we tried to get to the shard, we had no such measures, so yeah, trial and error :p
How the hell did you discover this, btw? Like, not only the exact time required for the climb, but the precise camera movements like when you're watching the peak, etc.
This is exactly my question too. Like, how on earth can anyone stumble, or even calculate, any of these steps. They just seem so haphazard and random

I've finally got around to messing with this and have landed on some cool spots like Plastics roof (placed beat LE since the old one someone else placed was gone). I've almost landed on a building I've been trying to land on twice but each time missed it by a matter of feet, literally. I was pointing using the map just before passing the dark glass railing above the pipe. It won't work for landing on the Isudud building though, for example. Any tips on a way to navigate this anywhere? There are a bunch of solid spots with collision I've always wanted to hit but it wasn't possible on console until now.
Tips? You can look at the building (without the map!) while on the pipe, so you won't have to worry about aiming anymore. It is important to not open the map later on since it moves your camera to the right (or left, depending on to which side you performed your last q-turn) for some reason. Or if you can't see the building while on the pipe and you have to use the map, keep in mind to look a bit to the right or left since the map rotates you (again, because of reasons). About climbing time, there is no equasion to calculate it, since the falling path is very complex and very hard to measure... You can approximate it and check how far you've gone and then try again and again and again :( No other tips from me for now, I hope I helped tho

But you know that you can get to the very top of the Plastic's tower without this glitch right?
About "Isudud", that's not at all what it says. You're reading it upside down. It says Anansi :D

For reference, I have tested and confirmed this to work on PS4, and I see no reason why it shouldn't work on Xbox also, so it's pretty safe to say that this works on both consoles and PC.
Don't forget that the climbing time of 2h15m00s is based on the Climb Efficiency upgrade having been purchased. Without it, it would take much longer to climb.
Also, I misaligned my aim a bit, but I got lucky and landed directly on the top of The Shard. So that's possible too.

I remember the dev's talking about how the backdrop shard is not the same one as the one that is played during the mission, so which one is it that you climbed here?
Well, backdrop means that it's supposed to be just looking real, so the backdrop shard is not solid, and when you get close to it, it disappears.

Glo Up Connor probably not he landed on the broken part but the story is fun so I'd recommend doing it and you destroy the tower on the third last mission so 13/15 mission so two less to do
If you really spend 2 hours on this(idk can you use like tools for speed time ingame), then what was size of video?
I can tell you that when I recorded myself going to the Shard on PS4 in 720p 60FPS it took about 2 hours and 30 minutes, and the file size was just over 3GB.
do pc/ps4/xbox players share the same map? all these beat l.e and trials seem to have disappear
you cant access pc ugc on consoles, it doesnt work the other way too, which is utterly stupid imo :(

Anyway, there are some other methods of going there aswell, since we put up RnC's there.

Also, the janitor's door can stay open if you complete the mission just before going there in freeroam, but only if you play on PC on highest graphics settings (that allows the draw distance to be long enough that the object stays loaded in even after you return to Zephyr, so that the door stays in an open state).
@@mirrorsedgefan thanks for the file. I play on ps4 so this is the only building I haven’t gotten to explore in freeroam beyond the janitors closet. That 2nd rnc that’s inside it I can’t find it; I had initially gotten there by gliding from anansi to the subway rail.
@@ohmanyourecool1 They should all work as long as you bookmark them from my links, then select them ingame from your bookmark list and set a waypoint on them.
So isnt the pipr perfectly vertically? Or does faith climb not perfectly vertically after climbing over the pipe?
It is perfectly vertical, as is her climbing trajectory. She starts to move towards The Shard after you jump off, while she is falling. Basically the momentum from jumping off the pipe is preserved for some reason. Not very realistic, but I guess they never tested this scenario.

cause i had to enable breadmode to survive the fall and that makes the character invisible

Basically its a glitch that if done right, makes you invincible!... and invisible xd
It requires a set-up with one of the main missions, and at one point you gotta go fast

I cannot see the time trial in-game. What do i do? (I bought the game yesterday)
There could be 4 reasons:
0. Sometimes after bookmarking a UGC, it wont appear on the map. To fix it, go to your bookmarks tab in your profile on the map, and put a marker on the invisible UGC
1. someone needs to link the TT to you, because it won't appear in everyone's game, and theres a link in the description :>
2. If no UGC appear in the game, it could be because it glitched out. Reload checkpoint and that will usually fix it, if not restart the game
3. UGC at the shard wont be teleportable to until you finish the story
If you still wont be able to find it after checking those out, let me know!
@@toffiklubitoffi8561 I got an answer after a long time: It was because i didnt have beaten "The shard" when i posted this comment, i thought that i can use any UGC time trial in the start of the game. But now i have completed the game and i can access The Shard in freeroam now.
omg yes, i forgot about that one- you cannot teleport to rezoning before sanctuary for example, or you cannot teleport to prisoner x at all, ever, worth keeping in mind

that is elysium, prisoner x is how i call the dogs, from prisoner x mission- those are buildings you fly to on a vtol!
Sadly, once the servers go offline, I'm sure that marker will disappear 😢
What happens if you jump off?
jump off of the shard? :D well, if you have breadmode, you will just keep falling until you reach the base. If you jumped towards the mall area (the one where the mission starts), you will land there, but if you jump towards the sea, you will just fall through the ground and keep falling infinitely until your game crashed :D
if you didnt have breadmode on tho, you will just "die from falling", which means in MEC the player gets killed after falling for long enough, so boo

Is the pipole glitch still relevant in 2019?
If it is how do you do it? You go on the rope, press turn 180°and then what? Been trying to re-create for 25 minutes on pc.
the game gets no patches so all glitches still work fortunately :D regarding the pipole glitch, you grab the pole, keep moving forward, mash q-turn and once faith has turned, mash jump button. then dont mive the camera and that should be it ^^

Feel free to use any of the time trials, then you can just teleport there instead of going through this whole process. That's why we made them :) (see my other comment here for the links if you play on console, or the RnC link in the video description if you're on PC).

It's because she's in breadmode, it makes you both invincible and invisible, but in this case we're using a fact that it makes you immune to fall damage as well

on PC, but people have successfully done this on console aswell ^^

AH HELL NO!
It would take ages to get to the shard using the gliding glitch, and even if you wanted to do that, theres no place high enough to do it from (you need to be standing on a surface to do the gliding glitch). Instead, I just dropped from a great height!

check the online map, or if you haven't finished the story yet, keep playing until you 1st finish mischief maker, and 2nd, the shard, since you can't teleport to it until you play the mission

How to to that pipoly glitch?
Well, you always could Google it :P
But if you're too lazy, here:
1)grab a pipe
2) look at the pole you want to swing on
3) jump, holding forward all the time, towards the pole and once you grab it, spam q-turn
4) while still holding forward, when Faith starts turning on the pole, spam jump
5) Once Faith has jumped off the pole, look at the pipe so you'll grab it
That's basically it :)

He found it by himself (with a little help from me). DICE didn't even know this was possible until they saw our video. It took a lot of trial and error, though.

Eventually, maybe. I wouldn't set my hopes too high but I also wouldn't rule it out just yet. The fact that we got Catalyst at all means to me that basically anything is possible.

OK so there's that method of doing a glide glitch that's not talked about often, but here's how you do a glide glitch in breadmode:
0. It is recommended to first try it without breadmode on an edge somwhere in the city so you get a feel on how to do it
1. Approach the edge, but not too close so you don't fall!
2. Crouch and see if you can move towards the edge
a. If you can't, move carefully a tiny bit closer to the edge. Then repeat step 2.
b. If you can, proceed to the next point
3. Crouch and immediatelly follow it with a tap of backwards key (or any other key/stick to move closer to the edge). Don't hold the crouch button, just press it for long enough for faith to finish the crouching animation, and don't hold the, in your case, stick, so you don't fall!
a. If you stand up after the process, do step 3. again
b. If you *don't* stand up, then you've entered the glide glitch! Now you can move through the edge and you'll glide like normal
Once you get to know how to do this technique, you can do step 3 pretty fast like I did in the video. But at first, try to do it slowly, just to be safe because of Breadmode :D

Did this guy just try to keep pressing W for 2 hours while looking at every building in the game until he found the glitch?
The big discovery here was really the correlation between falling time and distance travelled, rather than just falling down in a straight line no matter of how high you climbed.
We've known about the Pipole glitch pretty much since the game came out, since speedrunners found it very early on, but when Breadmode was found, we were able to apply Pipole in a completely new way.
Once we knew what was needed, we just started to test random climbing times and looking at the direction of The Shard, and after something like 5-10 attempts, we had the climbing time down.

@@VitalMusic217 Me and Toffi were testing it together at the same time, and also we used rubber bands / paper weights on our controllers/keyboards to make Faith climb automatically, set a timer, and did something else for most of the time. So it wasn't that bad actually.

@@DrRiq Well, just by looking at the building when you start to climb, you ensure that you're facing the right direction and will be going straight towards it. As for the distance (the climbing time), it was a matter of trial and error: First, we climbed for, say, 1 hour, and realised that it was not far enough (by opening the map and checking how far we got, just as we hit ground level). So we tried 2 hours, still not far enough, then 3 hours, that caused it to overshoot, then we lowered the climbing time a bit, etc, until we finally made it!
Or are you talking about how we survive the fall? That's because of the Bread Mode glitch, which makes you immortal, meaning falling damage can no longer kill you.

Thats a glitch called breadmode :D it makes you both invincible and invisible, you can notice that faiths body doesnt exist in the video xd
but this method is totally cheatless unless you consider glitches a cheat ;p
oh also you can do the same to get to other places in the game like faraway buildings that are solid, not many are but there are a couple
