In order to determine which city is the largest (or most populous), we measure the entire population of the city's Combined Statistical Area or CSA, which basically includes all of the surrounding cities and towns within commuting distance.
This is a more accurate way to measure a city's TRUE size as opposed to just the population within a city limits, as a city like Jacksonville, Florida (902,000) technically has a larger population than Seattle, Miami, Boston or San Francisco, all of which are much more bustling cities, but that's only because Jacksonville's city limits are at least 10 times wider than all of those cities'.
You might be surprised by some of the places on this list, as we don't often talk about other countries, but Mexico and Canada really do have some of the BEST places to Live in North America, so comment if you wanna see a video on the 10 BEST Cities in North America, where we analyze each city's economy, crime and safety, cost of living, schools, health, traffic, things to do, and quality of life, as well as the pros and cons of each location!
My biggest suggestion is to visit these cities and countries first to decide where you want to move to and live.

amazing video, more videos soon
Hi
wow, a new video, thank you for making it
Nothing beats a dense urban walkable city. The have so much vibrancy and character.
Can't argue with that!
@@FromHeretoThere Hey mango
as long as it's safe and clean
True! As a europen, I could never imagine myself to live in a city like Dallas(or any other similar city) Boston seems like the most European like city on this list, and it looks great.
Love this! In Australia We go by Metropolitan area. This is Similar to CSA. I agree this is more accurate way to measure the size of a city. When people ask where your'e from, you always say LA or Sydney or London, not the suburb!
cool
Yeah I like to go by Metros, but some metros (Dallas for instance) cover an area that's larger than a lot of the CSA's on this list even! So I thought CSA's and population density are much fairer representations of how "big" a city truly feels
@@FromHeretoThere i have a have quick question when are you returning to mango tango
True
@@FromHeretoThere urban area is the way to go !!
Toronto, if measured CSA was the same as in the US, would include Hamilton, Oshawa, Niagara Falls, St Catherines, and possibly Kitchener, Etc, bringing the population up over 9 million. These are each their own Metropolitan areas, so as a rule, can't be combined towards another larger Metropolitan city. Although these are official US population figures, official Canadian census numbers are of a more limited and modest count.
Yeah the Greater Horshoe CSA including all of those other metros is still a smaller area than the just the Dallas metro area lol
@@FromHeretoThere15:08 The mexico city megalopolis has a population of 30,8 million people
You may think this is unfair Since the other metropolitan areas included in there(Puebla, toluca and some smaller ones aren't exactly a continuous urban area but the same happens to the other CSAs on the list
I think you should have used MSA instead of CSA to make this list since it is more accurate on defining metro areas in the usa and doesn't include a lot of rural area near a city
If the list used MSA instead of CSA and Mexico city and Toronto using metropolitan area the, list would go:
1.Mexico city 21,9 million people
2.NYC 19,8 million people
3.Los Angeles 12,9 million people
4.chicago Chicago 9,5 million people
5.Dallas 7,8 million people
6.Houston 7,2 million people
7.Toronto 6,7 million people
8.Washinghton 6,3 million people
9.Philadelphia 6,2 million people
10.Atlanta 6,1 million people
@@FromHeretoThere greater golden horseshoe is over 10 million
@@FromHeretoThere Yea Dallas includes farmer Pete and all the kin...dolt
@@FromHeretoThere wow dude that’s insane. I’m from Kitchener and to drive from Kitchener to Hamilton to Niagara to Toronto than to Oshawa would probably take around 5 hours without traffic, it’s also a fairly (kinda) straight route. To think greater Dallas encompasses a larger area is absolutely insane.
Great video, very enjoyable
i love the videos you do on this channel, Great work mango!
Chicago is beautiful
DC is where I lived to enjoy being young and single
Dallas is where I now live to enjoy a slower life but with big city amenities
So all of your cons on Dallas are definitely a pro for me, and all of your pros for the densely populated areas like Boston and Philly I'm personally not built for any of that anymore although I DO miss mass transit 🙂
A lot of the Dallas cons are false and just Old
@@KingAsa5 nah Dallas is boring. It’s a good city to live in but it’s not comparable to the other ones imo

I was expecting to see Houston instead of Dallas. Great list!
These are two bland, unattractive cities.
I don't know why DFW is a much larger metro area than Houston
This guy is wrong. Houston has at least 1,000,000 more people than Dallas. This guy is including the Ft. Worth metro area in with Dallas.
So he's not wrong? The metropolitan area population of Dallas is bigger than Houston.@@paulhetrick1759
I have been to Chicago before and it was awesome! There are so many attractions that are there in Chicago as well as a lot of history.

You missed out Vancouver with its suburbs kicks Toronto ass.
Population didn't make the top 10
Toronto's metro population is 6million Vancouver is like 2.6 million
Very happy to watch your new video, very useful information, keep up the great work
Excellent video. Love it. Hope you will produce more videos soon!
I've missed you so much
A gorgeous list. I am form eastern Europe. And I am looking to move to NA. However I would not know where to begin, and where to go. I like Toronto, Vancouver, Chicago, Boston, DC, Austin, New York, Seattle, and Los Angeles the best. But out of them in my mind it really comes down to the 4. In order from most liked: Vancouver, Toronto, Austin, and Chicago.
You can’t go wrong with Toronto. Clean, safe, great opportunities there but,it is expensive.
Crime in US cities is a problem for sure.
Vancouver would be a great choice also and even better,on Vancouver Island is the city of Victoria. A logistical burb to Vancouver that is so incredibly beautiful.
Can you make a video on the most polluted states
Love your videos - always educational & making me laugh, great job! keep making more
Toronto is by far the most diverse city in North America. It has incredible neighbourhoods with some of the best food in the world. Nonstop summer street festivals. Incredible arts and entertainment scene. I would suggest that only New York surpasses Toronto in North America. To suggest that Toronto has no soul is quite frankly laughable. Take this from a former aircrew member.
MY MY MYIAIAIA
Dude, the whole video makes no sense. It's "top 10 largest cities in north america", but then puts Toronto at 6 for totally subjective issues that have nothing to do with population.

Any hope you could ever do a positive top 10 reasons to move to Ohio video? I feel like Ohio as a state always lands middle of the pack, so it hardly gets any mention (positive or negative) and the few times it does get mentioned it's usually negatively around the Cleveland area, but there's a lot to love about the state (including Cleveland). It is the 7th most populous state so it's got a lot of people living there for some reason!
Ohio is brought up a lot, usually negative.
Ohio💀
Born and raised in ohio. It sucks. I would rather live under a bridge in Vegas for christ sake. Ohio is cursed. Theres nothing good about it. I hear enough about people moving there every summer just because of cedar point. Which is just a amusement park that isn't even open 365 days a year. If you're gonna move to Ohio because of that then you need some moving therapy to encourage better choices of somewhere to move.
I thought Guadalajara would have made this list. But I also thought Mexico City was the largest North American city, with New York a close second. I liked this video.
Glad you enjoyed! And Guadalajara was certainly close!
hey From Here To There! I have an important question for you. I want to go to the usa year exchange someday. Can you tell me please which state in your opinion is the best for exchange, and why? Thank you so much 😊

Washington DC/ Baltimore CSA is a combination of 2 cities Metro areas. Baltimore with nearly 3 million people and DC with 6 million people.
