Although the AC690 pro is fully automatic - some technicians will still close the HP (Red) valve on recovery of the refrigerant, and close the LP (Blue) on recharge - there is no need to do this as the machine opens and closes the relevant solenoids accordingly. It would not have been done to ‘cheat’ you on the quantity of refrigerant recharged.
The vehicle database does not always need to be accessed if the machine is being used in Manual mode, or the vehicle data may not have been in the machine. Self-clearing will only be done if there is pressure in the system to start with. Vacuum is recommended to be done for 20 minutes. The video is our recommendation as to how the machine should be operated, but obviously we cannot enforce it.
    Thank you for your comments.

It is perfectly normal to recover only 2ml of oil, as oil may or may not be recovered. Recharging with 4ml of oil will in no way affect your system. With 25grams in your system, it is unlikely it would have been working at all, as there needs to be enough pressure in the system to activate the low pressure switch for the system to start.

What happens if the operator didn't open the high pressure valve? I've been to a service (that uses Robinair AC690 Pro) with my car and, during the operation, I've noticed that the low valve was opened but the high pressure one (red) was closed. This could have been done in purpose (to cheat on the quantity of refrigerant recharged) or just by mistake? Not to mention that he didn't follow all the steps that were described in the video-guide above (the vehicle database was not accessed, the self clearing not done, the time for vacuum was set on 3 minutes and these are only a few of them as I remember). If you need more info, please ask me; I can also send you the copy of the summary print-out. Thank you in advance!

Thanks a lot for your answer! I have two more questions, if you don't mind:
    1. Is it normal to recover only 2 ml of oil and to recharge 4 ml instead? The service manual says that the oil quantity for my car is 40 ml, so is that ok?
    2. As the printout showed, there were recovered 25 grams of refrigerant and recharged 365 grams, so with just 25 grams left in the system why the compressor still started and cooling a bit? That's what made me suspicious about the quantity of recovered and recharged refrigerant.
The car is a 2007 Toyota Yaris, with 31,500 km on board.
