It's really cool to watch those machines in action!
I never expected to see one of these on your channel. It was definitely a welcome surprise. I love these machines!
I agree ,follow this project to next steps. You did a good job on showing a mine being
re-seeded after completion (awhile back). Its good see how it all starts.
Mining and logging, now youve probably upset every city person.Good video!
Yeah I don't think the greenies like me much lol
skadill - Yep. I don't know how remote this site is, but there's a good chance that the land will be reinstated after the coal's been stripped. If the angry brigade came back in 50 years they'd probably find nothing but (young) trees round a lake, with deer, buzzards, bears and squirrels. Or maybe a mini-mall selling pictures of deer, buzzards, bears and squirrels! ;-) Whatever. Another great video, IMHO.
Elli P yeah most of them Environmentalis don't think logically looking at the big picture it's like they are looking through a straw it's like what you said about the future the land will probably be better than it was before. Leftist' s only go off of "feelings" they won't even entertain the other sides point
To produce coal, no less.
@@PAmining Actually I very much enjoy your channel. Too many people make too many assumptions which is why we have a country that believes that half of the people hate the other half when in reality you have less than 1% on both sides who are idiots who spread lies and hate.
Fantastic, fanTASTIC operator. Clearly knows that machine and runs it like the old-timers always said you should; like it was an extension of yourself.
It really amazes me how versatile and quick the machine is.
Perfect, my favourite youtube channel now also shows forestry machines. Thank you very much for all of your videos!
Yes sir, you welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
These Tigercat's really amazes me. I used to haul them from job to job back before my heart attack. And, all their equipment. Thanks for the Memories👍
Out swapping cogs and burning fuel. Keep it going, Danny!
I Quite swapping the Gears around Along time Ago....he-he. And, I'm completely out of Gas T00❕ I Hope and Pray All is Well there aswell.
I turned in my c.d.l. when I found out I had to have a stress test for a health card. Still have my class-A's though. I'm almost never out of gas but the zip factor is going down. Good here and BLESSINGS to you and Lil' Mama!
Danny Walker cottontop3 has one if you don't know
???? I'm not sure what you meant here in your reply. ???? If I don't what?
Dang. Me and my old man have been working on clear cutting his property of hemlock trees by hand, (about 15 acres worth.). This thing would be a blessing.
Thanks Justin. I d love to see them open her up too!
Could you do some more logging videos. I love the equipment. good work!
If I come across more logging going on for a mining job, sure. While I am a mining guy, these machines are cool to see!
Epic machine and a awesome video from PA mining thank you
looks like good fun driving that machine. great vid thanks
I've been a underground coal miner for years. I've always wanted to get into strip mining. Not many strip jobs left around my area though.
i am enjoying this i have never seen one of these machines work only heard about them , thanks for making this video Justin !
Steven Noel go to cottontop3 to see more
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
cant wait till digging starts
A PC3000 and 2000 will be ripping through this job
I run one of these clearing right of ways for pipelines.. But the one I run is a Komatsu..
It is amazing how agile these feller bunchers are...
gidney100 i run one and everyday im amazed at what it can do.. so much safer than hand cutting!
Those big moss covered rocks are everywhere in upstate PA...It's tough to cut low on the trees most likely...
27 likes and not a tree hugging hippie in sight! lol
Don't jinx it.
@thecouchtripper Oh Dear! That's NOT NICE at all!
Scary fast,awesome machines
Another awesome video! Thank you!
Your welcome, glad you enjoyed it!
I have a problem understanding you people sometimes, y’all talk so funny 🤣, ( Kingsman )
K G blades and rakes next ? Nice video PA
Would love to see more
Looks like a lot of this would generate one or two sticks of pulp wood. Burning the tops or are they going to the surface dump?
Justin Great video. sir. You should make some merchandise likr shirts or hats. Sell them to us. All of your videos are top notch and very informative. I sit down with my 4 year old twins and 11 year old son . ( all truck lovers ) and watch all the documentaries you make and then the footage of the mining trucks. You must have an aweome job. How is your drup truck running these days ? The 85 ton euclid?
Haha, that's not a bad idea. I'll have to look into it. I'm glad your kids enjoy the videos! That's one of the reasons I make them is for education. The Euclid was my summer job when I was in college! Haha, haven't driven the old girl in years. Now I work in the professional field. Thanks!
I have a ? For uses when or do u know when there gonna strip bout 1\2 miles away from garrett pa?
If that's possible for you, please follow that mine along, particularly the first cuts and extraction. Many thanks, and this is a fantastic video!
Sure I'll see what I can do. Any idea what kind of phase of development you'd like to see in a video?
Are you gonna do a follow up on this new cut
Any footage of them clearing the top off once the trees have gone
Nice machine first
Just think of all the ground squirrels and vermin now that owls won't have to eat now as their nests are torn down that may have eggs in them as they have to leave farther out to hunt.
Is this the job near Hecshersville?
are any of the good trees logged for some other use and is the rest of it turned into chips/mulch since there are a lot of uses for woods ??????
Forest is really too young for logging. A couple here and there. Not worth the sorting. Looks like they are piling to chip.
Correct. Most of these trees are getting chipped
what part of the state is this located? I live near Somerset county and LCT is opening a new underground mine it should be operational in about a year and a half.
Mike Whipkey I'm in the northeast region but I visit the southwest regularly
PAmining that's kinda what I figured we don't have a lot of that big equipment around here.. A buddy of mine his dad has a mining company his name Is Albert Stiffler they do a lot of mine reclamation for the state.. But they are stripping about 2 miles from my house they have been on that site for about 12 years for about the past 5 years they haven't done much mining because of the price of coal
Justin
Just wondering if the mining company owns all of this equipment or do they contract this phase of the development? Great video as always. Keep them coming. Thanks.
Most likely sub'ed out. The mine could not keep up with the clearing and the expensive machines would be sitting idle. Plus the logging company logo on the side of the Tigercat is a dead give away.
MrThisIsMeToo just about to say the same thing
As others have said, any kind of cutting work like this is subcontracted out. Thanks!
How was the cut wood disposed of?
Most of it was chipped as these trees are too young and the wrong kind to to use for paper wood or timber
@@PAmining thanks
4:17 I think there was a rock
Peter Blazej yep I have hit a lot of them .
How long do they think this new mine will operate for? Thanks for the video. Will you be showing the other steps to opening this mine?
This particular job has a life span of 7-10 years. I can show any steps you want
PAmining Thank you!
man what rpm is that flywheel spinning at?
Valentino Valenti about 800
and when they are done with the land, will they plant a forest full of solar panels on the site?
Actually most reclaimed mine lands get re-seeded with grasses and hardwoods
Lache le foin et coupe des arbres le ket!
4:18. Did he hit a rock?
Seems to be some limestone rock or something similar, hard rock would make a lot of sparks and saw would require new teeth
It's probably either a sandstone or conglomerate. That's what makes up most of the rock beds on this job.
Yep, he did. No big deal, the teeth are bolted on and square, and get turned a quarter turn to present a new cutting surface. Easy fix at the end of the day if they get dull enough.
Is any of that timber good for pulp or lumber?
bert26a most likely plup
The Good Timber was cut in 1750!
I done this by hand...yo yo the valleys
If pelosi and Obama liberals see this machine it would be banned for some stupid reason like it to rough on trees lolol
