Kind of, at the time the mentality among the riders was it's our sport, none of the officials need to know, none of the fans need to know and none of the reporters need to know, this is how it has always been, the riders always get screwed over and treated like Mules so screw everyone else..... absolutely horrific interview. Tubridy is a clown. Walsh at the beginning is saying how Armstrong was incapable of displaying remorse and turbridy spends 2 minutes repeating what Walsh just said back to him.
I do have to say that Lance was scapegoated by the system. I'm not saying he was not guilty and responsible for his own cheating and certainly the worst thing about him was how he tried to destroy others. HOWEVER, he entered a corrupt cult, so to speak, at age 21. For heaven's sake, the actual drug testing commission was basically set up as a don't-ask-don't-tell along with all the other officials, etc. There were a lot of lined pockets. Interestingly, while Lance was racing, there were basically no positive drug tests as far as I know. No scandals like the big one with the French team that occurred right before Lance came into his own. As soon as Lance retired (the first time), Landis tested positive. That basically reveals that as long as Lance was racing and cheating and winning, the pockets got lined, the don't ask don't tell code was in place and all the other racers could dope as well. Obviously, the winner gets tested the most. It is my opinion that Landis used the testosterone with the same schedule of avoiding detection as he had on the Postal Team and then was blindsided that that method was not foolproof except when Lance was wearing the yellow jersey. When things started going south with the Lance scandal, all the lined pockets pointed at him and were happy to let him take the fall for the whole corrupt system. So, in that respect, I do think that unfair.
Asteriskstrong had multiple positive tests. He just bribed the UCI to keep their mouths shut, and he turned in other cyclists he perceived as a threat. He had the most sophisticated doping operation, and he purposely ruined the lives of others who got in the way of what he considered to be his God-given right of the yellow jersey. (Yes, I know he is an atheist, but you get my point.) He deserves every bad thing that happens to him, and quite frankly, he got off light when the government was willing to settle their lawsuit.

I can’t understand why Indurain , Merex ,Hinault were not perused in a similar manner. Why were both of these men confronted about their involvement with PED’s after they retired ? Admittedly Armstrong behaviour against those who questioned or challenged him was utterly deplorable. Look at the damage that’s been caused in professional and amateur rugby today as a consequence of PED’s. The only groups that come anywhere near that are televangelists (CBN has over 80%). Usually, a decent charity will have overhead of less than 20%. I am treasurer for a small nonprofit that gives scholarships to students in Africa and school supplies to immigrants in America. Because we are very small, no one takes a salary, and our overhead is in the single digits or low double digits, depending on how successful fundraisers are. Always look at the overhead for a nonprofit, and that will tell you if it's the real thing or not.
