    This is the exact same engine as the one on my Cessna styrofoam remote-controlled airplane from Cox products I just bought the other day I think I might go ahead and buy the other one just to get the engine

    The little muffler does make a huge noise difference! Thank you for the video.. much appreciated !

    My first engine was also a Cox baby bee and I still have it. I was amazed at how little difference the muffler made in rpm. Yours is an original baby bee as it has the brass backplate, modern one's are now plastic. If ever you think of putting it in an RC model you can get a tank extention ring. Enjoyed the video. Terry

      Hi Terry, thanks for the comment, they really are great engines, I have a couple of models in mind for this engine, probably be something vintage. 😀

    It's a 0.49 COX Baby Bee. In 1980 I got one in my control line PT19.
    Black Widow has a bigger fuel tank and was painted black.

    This engine is most probably a Babe Bee. There was a Super Bee which was fitted with a tee dee cylinder, but this was a product engine found on plastic planes. As a kid a Babe Bee was my first buy as a modeler. Here's a video of a Babe Bee pulling a plane with authority : ua-cam.com/video/JP3tLSqrfbs/v-deo.html

    I do like your you style of presentationMark. You mentioned replacing gaskets a subject I am investigating. I am making drawngs of most popular engine gaskets withthe iw of suppling gaskets to the modelling fraternity. I have made them in the past when I had acces to a laser cutter. Had made a few hundred for Andrew Boddinton. I would like to find a laser machine owner that could produce the gaskets to my drawings from a s/w drawing package- Any Ideas ? Dave M.

      Thank you very much, really appreciate your kind comment. Sorry can't help with the gasket cutting, I make all my own by hand with a scalpal and ink pad, which I actually quite enjoy doing, however, I would think there would be a good demand for gaskets, sounds like a good venture, good luck

    Hi I have a question, do these engines require a fuel tank, it doesn't seem the can run for long if mounted on a plane? Thank you!

    • @MarkRobinson555
      @MarkRobinson555  Рік тому

      The engine has an integral tank which gives it a couple of minutes run time, you can fit slightly larger tanks to extend the run time

    How do you fill the fuel? 🙂

    • @MarkRobinson555
      @MarkRobinson555  Рік тому

      There is a small spout on the top of the tank, where you cone t a bit of fuel line.

    I dont know much about these engines, do you need a muffler on this one?

    • @MarkRobinson555
      @MarkRobinson555  2 місяці тому

      No not really unless you are flying in a very noise sensitive area. The engine came with the muffler so thought it was worth a try. They are very loud close up but the noise doesn't really travel well 😜

    It wasn't a real test because you didn't run it without the silencer fitted at all. Noticed that you didn't use the very useful spring starter, it really does save your fingers. Is a Cox bee a modern version of the old ED one?
