Tennessee has issues with OC play calling for sure..OL issues big time..Nico having issues was going to happen for any QB1 but again it's a TEAM SPORT and ONE guy cannot be the the blame to WIN or to LOSS any game.. defense still has issues stopping the opponents since SEC play has began this season. If the same team shows up that played Arkansas we will be lucky to be 8-4 or 9-3 this year bottom line 😮😮

SEC opponents may have pickup on some of the triggers of Coach Heupel’s offensive scheme. Maybe in trying to protect the new quarterback, play calls have become a bit conservative. If the running game is working, that allows the passing game to work the entire field. But, with six or seven coming on pressure defense, the quarterback has only a second to make a read and execute a pass. That makes it look as if he is holding the ball too long. And yes, the new quarterback did hold the ball too long all night long. Tennessee must run the football against FL. That will generate tempo on the Vols offense. First downs must be productive, otherwise they are facing third and long and a lot of pressure on the quarterback.
Its either a deep pass or a WR Screen! Heupel needs to stop with the WR Screens!! They never work and only gain 2-3 yards. Need to use the 12 personal more and crossing patterns. And throw a RB Screen now and then.

The truth is Golesh was more creative with Heupels offense than Heupel actually is. Golesh Ean way more slant patterns for WRs, we ran some counters, we used Fant as a fullback at times. Used Hyatt in the backfield some. This offense has lacked ANY creativity since Golesh left. It’s vanilla as fuck!
If you watch the RPO fake its looks comical. No LB is biting on the lackadaisical fake especially when Nico never runs. He needs to pull it and run 5-8 times to make the defense get flat footed for a half a second or its a waste of time
I agree with Eric, they need to get some short stuff going, mesh, slants, screen, check down options. Help Nico out.
