- I have been using the Masso CNC Controller for 1 year on my converted Sieg SX2.7. Here is a review video that talks about using the Masso with my DIY Automatic Tool Changer and my future plans.
Thanks for posting. I love your cat. Very nice machine. I just bought the G3 touch
I have been looking for a video review on the masso controller to see if its what im looking for . But I keep running into video's like this one that seems to talk about everything else but ! I wish I could find out more about the masso controller and how it works !
Greta job … thanks for sharing
Can make a video series on your tool changer .. how to setup... what you made what you bought... the overall setup hardware software etc...
Ill see what i can do over the christmas break.
I had nothing but trouble with Mach 3. I switched to uccnc for the Mill but I'm thinking of masso for the lathe. UCCNC is awesome though. It's got everything you need for a 3 axis machine in one of the simplest layouts and you can use an XBox control for an MPG.
Nice setup. Hope you add progress to your machine.
I would love to see more on this.
What would you like to see? Ill see what i can do.
@@Ethan.Downey how you did it. Program for the tool changer? Hardware and software
@@mastermoarman Sure thing. Ill see what i can do over the christmas break.
The tool changer logic (program) is included when you purchase a Masso CNC controller. I can show a video how it is setup.
liked for the content, commented for the cat.
I like the Wrap & Move chip-catcher :-)
Hi Ethan ! Great Video in regards to your recommendation of the MASSO CNC Controller ! Looking at purchasing one myself ! However ! Can you tell me more about your 16 Tool Automatic Tool Changer, and where you got it from, as I'm also looking to purchase a Sieg SX2.7 Bench Mill, and would like to reproduce your current setup with the MASSO CNCN Controller ! Also ! Will you be making a video on your current setup, showing how the system performs an automatic tool change ? With kindest regards ! GCS CNC Group.
Nice video... I have been wanting to purchase a Masso, but have cold feet as they are not responding to my pre sales questions. My main concern was about their controller's issue with either key bounce or delayed recognition of a key stroke, which would be a real frustrating thing to deal with.
To be honest i havent noticed.
Great work , can you make video of the program ATC Hardware and software
Love that tool changer! I need to build something like that for my own machine.
Do it!!!
nice work, what motor are you using to index your umbrella ATC
Hi there wonderin how many watts of servo motor, did you use on your x and y and z axis?hanks
I have a machine that i am going to be retrofitting that has almost identical tool changer on it. I am thinking of going with the Masso controller and would need the same help as you. did they have to do some custom code or were you able to do it with the standard control? do you use spindle orientation?
Hi Ethan, thanks for the video. Do you know if the SX2.3 has the same frame and stiffness as the SX2.7? Thanks
Ethan did you make some plans for your tool changer? I run a Masso on my CNC mill . Would you consider to share them or the files?
Hi Mark, Im just in the process of updating all my SolidWorks files. What machine do you have? It would be a small task to adapt to other machines as it was designed purely for the SX2.7.
@@Ethan.Downey Mine is pretty much a Torus or a Syil X6 large table. I could fit it to any thing easily by the look of it. Fusion360 is what I usually use
i dont see it any move that the tool changer is working???
Hallo Eaton,
I bought a Masso to revise an old cnc router. Later on i will have an ATC. Are your plans available?
Eathan Do you happen to have the link for the 2 stage air cylinder?
You talent
If you had servos would you still need homing switches
If your refering to the tool changer than that is still a yes as the current logic is written to count and home using some type of sensor/ switching signal.
Nice incorporation of the tool changer and the Masso controller. Where did you get the 2 stage air cylinder for the power draw bar? I'm always leaning toward a cnc controller that isn't pc based, but haven't made the leap.
You wont regret making the leap! Masso is a great controller.
The 2 stage air cylinder was purchased from China. If your interested i can dig up the supplier?
@@Ethan.Downey I would appreciate that I've looked alot on Alibaba but was unseccessfull
Could you please share your files for the carousel? I draw parts two days and print them another week or so and i don't like it. I got inspired by your setup but I can't make it work... I also use the masso g3 and a mill similar to yours. I f you don't mind please share with me the stls or step files? Thank you.
liked "it's a bit hows it goin' "
What do you mean?
@@Ethan.Downey @1:14 "How ya goin"
@@andrewfortus2629 HAHA, I Didn't even realize i said that lol.
Ethan, I am wanting to convert my Sieg SX3 to CNC, can I use this MASSO controller.
Did you make yourself the ATC?
Yes i did. All designed on Solidworks and than i printed and machined up the parts.
@@Ethan.Downey I really would like to make an ATC just like you did, also this year I will buy a Masso yo repair a machine we have because the Ethernet smooth Stepper works really bad
