the chartreuse color is the main color i always use..wipers are very good table fare fish to eat..better than the whitebass in my opinion..you're lucky..letting go of the 1st fish is usually a jinx to bad luck fishing..lol 😆
Nice Video Bro. Went there last summer and basically lost at least $50 worth of jigs and bank sinkers. Btw where did you get your jig heads from? Can’t find any of those 1/2 and 3/4 ounces here in MN other than the flimsy cheap stuff here at the local Cabelas.
That’s a monster wiper! Wow! I grew up in red rock heights outside of Knoxville. I use to fish down there all the time! I even found a mammoth tooth on a sand bar below the damn there when I was a kid when the river was real low. I have a ton of stories from there! Makes me want to go back! 8:10
That’s the fewest people I have ever seen there. I quit fishing there when I was a kid due to it. Old habits die hard though every time I’m in town I always end up there lol
That's a small one compared to what's in there!! I've caught several in the ten pound range at Red rock
Awesome video. Love the channel
Nice fish, those striped fish are my only target anymore!!! Love catching stripers!!!
They are a ton of fun!!
i cant believe you put that first one back lol
Anyone that says this is a giant dam hasn't seen a real dam before
i live right next to there there is good campgrounds around
Is that red rock?
yea
Straight fire, glad you got onto some!!!
I would have missed that bite completely if I hadn’t seen you guys laying the smackdown! 👍🏻
I enjoyed the video. Looking forward to more wiper action.
Thanks I appreciate it!
First time viewer here. Love your commitment. Subbed.

What was the bait you were throwing the yellow paddle tail?
I thought they plan to block the road for maintenance or something

I got mine at Casey bait shop in Des Moines!

Nice catch! I live fairly close to that dam it can get really crowded there quickly
It’s a popular spot! For good reason!

went out the other day on dsm river and caught a few nice ones on just a crawler... such fun fish
I would keep that 7 pounder all right
Nice!
Never hear of wiper before but that look just like a big white bass to me.
They look very very similar, wipers just get way bigger!
They also call them hybrid stripers
That first keeper was a normal striper
These are Wipers, they don’t get as big as Stripers
I sure wish there were stripers in Iowa!
Surprised there weren't more people down there.... usually shoulder to shoulder this time of year.
Is this red rock? LoL
How could you tell!?
@@theu.s.ofangling1344 it’s a well known location for the people that chase wipers in the Midwest. 👌
They can get up to about 40lbs
