  • Join us for a narrated tour of the undisputed king of all volcanic eruptions that humans have been around to witness, the site of the 1815 blast of Mt. Tambora which killed over 100,000 ... and probably many more than that. We'll be flying in the beautiful Blackbird Simulations version of the Pilatus PC-6 Porter, taking off and landing inside of volcanic craters.

Thanks! I don't know what's up, but a lot of folks are getting hit here in Northeast FL. This round of COVID is particularly nasty. I think I'll be back at my usual pace in another day or two.

(Sorry to hear about the Covid hope you are better by the time of this post) - thanks for these videos, very interesting places and scenarios. I too love using the sim to explore the world, it's history, places and times I may not be able to experience in life, but can via MSFS.

I always tell people I prefer not referring to it as a "game." It's a gateway to the entire world, right at our fingertips! I can't wait to see what the next gen has in store. And I am feeling much better now, thank you.

@@MSFSFlightPlans Glad to hear it - speaking of the beauty of the sim and volcanoes, check out the one in Chad. My buddy made a little airstrip up the side of Emi Koussi. Crater up there is pretty cool and it was an accident I even found it. Had the TBM on autopilot (feeding the pets at the time) when the land rose up higher than my altitude and, yeah. Found her lying on the side of the volcano, down in a ridge valley. Asked for a challenging airstrip and then flew up top to try another landing and discovered the crater looked quite good. You might find it interesting.

Dude ... amazing! I'm putting a plan together right now. We've got one more in the can that I'll probably publish tomorrow or Tuesday moring, then this flight will be next in line. I'm going to record it tomorrow night if all goes well.
