    I just tried the recipe today, the best I have ever done so far. Tried couple times with other recipe and it was never this bubbly inside and puffy.. thank you so much for sharing!!!

      because its fake, you need ammoniun bicarbonate to make that bubble.

    Best recipe (for me).... made at 5 times and no failure....
    Recipe calls for milk doesn't work for me.... black spots appear on dough overnight....
    & great tips here at the end.....

    Best recipe hands down. Tried it today and turned out to be extremely nice! It doesnt get soggy or harden when its cold and has the springy texture. Thank you!

    I went to China last year in October for a school trip and stayed with a host family and most mornings they would make me these so lately I have been missing Chinese foods these especially, so I'm happy I found a recipe to bring back memories of China

      I only left the dough in the fridge for up to 12 hours and took it out allowing it to sit in room temperature for 2 hours then prepared it for frying. They turned out perfect like the video...,,very airy and delicious!!

    Hubby loves youtiao so much that he can eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner -if I allow it. 😂 Anyway, I have tried several recipes and I found this recipe is perfect! It is very easy to follow and they turn out just the way a dream youtiao should be and I mean every time! This recipe is a winner! Thank you so much for sharing it! 👍🏼👍🏼

    i remember that when i was a young boy in Manila, Philippines. I usually watch preparing and cooking in a Chinese bakery we called it Bicho-Bicho and exactly the same procedures except after cooking they rolled it in big round flat rattan container with sugar for flavoring. I love it for snack with my Coca-Cola soda.

    I just made this..& sooo glad it turned out perfect!! I cant remember how many recipes i hv tried b4 & it never turned out well. But looking at ur video & how u explained it so detail ..dos & dont ..i try my luck again.. I made d dough & kept in fridge for 24 hrs bcoz i was too tired to fry it yesterday. Only this morning I managed 2 fry it..& it made me dance d whole morning😆..at last!!! I can claim my you tiao as good as chinese made sold out there..
    Cant stop myself from saying tq thousand times 2 u for sharing this awesome rcp ..tq again!!

      Dont follow this recipe. I tried to make it yesterday and it turned out a bad recipe. The youtiao tasted too salty and smelled like urine or some sort. I guess it is attributed to the baking soda added in the recipe. And also, the youtiao looked ugly, not as what you see in this video. The author gave a failed instruction. So disappointed !

      Yes.Indian civilization also ancient as Chinese but most of artifacts and documentation have been destroyed and taken over by Western and Mughal colonization.

    What a fantastic video! It has lots of detailed information, including answers to questions that I hadn't considered asking. Youtiao have two stripes because tradition, right? No! There's actually a really important reason. Wow! They're not my ancestors but I am amazed nonetheless.
    I have 4 kids and only one likes congee/jook/porridge. I feel like a failure!! Anyway, I explained that it can be eaten with youtiao but never was able to find any for her. I love to eat them but never tried making them myself. Now I think I will!!!
