My favorite fishing technique using a whip. Yes fishing with a whip it has its limitations but it can be very efficient and fun at the same time. Great video thanks for sharing. Cheers from Canada.
Great session again Danny, good net of fish, I did land a pike of 8 lbs on a whip and 18 hook, it took a bleak and nearly an hour playing it, messed the swim up but got it, thanks for all the vid,s, take care and have a great Christmas with your family, cheers, Norfolk Ray
Really enjoyed that Danny and a great net of fish at the end too. I look forward to more whip fishing vids. Merry Christmas Danny and a very happy new year
Brilliant vid Danny, some big roach and dace there 👍 I managed to hook a 7lb trout in a reservoir using the whip, really thought it was going to break, but managed to nurse the fish in after a long battle 👌 Keep the vids coming, really enjoying your ribble blogs 👍👍👍
Nice one! Some going that matey well done I actually thought we had a chance with this pike just when had put some.pressure on against flow hook.pulled
Brilliant net of fish Dan some cracking Dace 👍thanks for making the vids , really appreciate your hard work hope you and the family have a great Xmas all the best mate 👍
Danny - amazing bag of silvers - I feel so jealous! Wished I had a water such as that close to me.... Mr. Pike will always appear when you get a shoal of silvers pinned down - remember standing in the Tidal Lea catching dace in my waders and bait apron - no need for a landing net, brought them across the surface to hand. Was bringing a dace in to hand across the top, reached down to bring it to hand when underneath the surface a pike about 12lb was hurtling in behind it. Jesus! - it made me scream! - Pike look "scary" on the bank, let alone when they are going at you at speed under the very water you are standing in!! Carry on the excellent work. May I take this opportunity to wish yourself and the family a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year. Keep baggin. mate!!
Lmao about pike I remember on the dee in winter was same as low to water and pike come out last minute and boom, wouod scare you to death. All the best matey
Hi mate that's a fantastic bag of silvers can't beat fishing the whip with few pints of maggots such a simple but really effective way fishing when you get them going wishing you and family all a merry Christmas and Happy New year 👍
Lovely net full👍,be brilliant to see you do that again, merry Christmas Danny and thank you for all of the videos you have made for us truly appreciate 🎅🎄, hope all your family and friends have a great Christmas too 👍🎄🎅, take care and tight line's mate 👍.
Nice session danny soz didn't watch straight away had the mega flu still on the tail end of it now I was in Manchester last week at old Trafford walked the canal from the hotel we stayed in potato wharf 🎣👊🎅💥
well Danny the wife has seen your rod...err i mean your whip and she's very happy...lol....another great day's fishing ....all the best for next year, tight lines
Brilliant whip. I've got 6mtr and intending to buy the 7mtr section as they're compatible. I use mine on the South Yorkshire Canal which averages 10/11' deep and it's perfect.
Excellent video. Good to see the Ribble coming up trumps again. Just one question: when you say the Pike 'pulled the hook', does that mean the hook just came out, or did the hook length snap? If it did pull out, would it have caused an injury to the fish?
The pike was hooked on outside mouth and was probably lightly hook3d and as pressure was put on to get it closer in its just pulled. I'm sure Mr pike is perfectly fine
You can remove the flick tip and elasticate the No. 2 section but unless you're expecting really big fish there's no need. I've had decent sized carp, bream, roach and perch on my 6mtr version with no problems although I did play the big perch with the tip under the surface for a time. I usually have the rig so the hook's about 12" short of full length but experiment until you feel happy with it.
Merry Christmas Danny Just shows that a decent whip can hold its own against a big fish. I am always frightened my whip will get snapped by a big fish but, to be honest the rewards out weigh to risk.
Great Video! I just bought the same whip and just noticed how thin the flick tip is and I wanted to ask, if you shortened it a little bit to stiffen the action or you use it as it is?
Thanks for the vlogs Danny, enjoy your Christmas mate.

once again great video.Ive not fished the whip much two questions is the whip elasticated? How much line used to the float?Have a great Xmas
Dave

I use flick tip tbh but do have another section I plan to elasticate as venues next year hold some nice bream
Merry Christmas Danny
