Gaijin broke something and now a 250kg bomb dropped 20 meters away can kill it. It used to be almost immune to bombs, I had a 1000 pound bomb dropped next to be about a year ago and it broke a track.
I swear the Maus got silently nerfed. It use to tank small bombs but now it can't survive a 100lb bomb 10 feet away.
As an avid maus player I completely agree.. Object 279 still seems pretty bomb resistant though 🤔

I still love how the maus can’t survive a 250kg bomb being dropped like 10 meters away, but a 500kg bomb can’t kill a is7 even if it lands underneath it. Despite the fact the maus has more armor everywhere which would mean it’s better for surviving overpressure.

I used to be terrified of the Maus, because I thought you could really only penetrate its side armor. I then realized that there’s a sweet spot on its cheek armor that most shells go through like a hot knife through butter.
So we’ve learned the Maus needs AA cover constantly lol

Malzi you should try the first armor piercing shell you unlock for the Maus the one with lower velocity and more explosive filler it doesn't over pen as much and sometimes overpressures even when you don't pen

Hey malzi, you should try the PzGr 43 shell type for the 128mm cannon, it has over 7 times the explosive filler compared to the 12,8/8,8 Pzgr.TS. You only lose 40mm of flat pen which I think it a worthwhile trade off for a guaranteed one-shot if your shell pierces the crew compartment, and very often a one-shot if you hit the engine. The Conqueror at 1:13 wouldn't have survived the other shell type. Love the vids regardless, keep up the good work!❤

Malzi your using top shell which is basically the 8,8 cm shell from Tiger with little amount of explosives in it (that's why it is called 8,8/12,8). Try using the second one. It penetrates less (which you won't feel) but damage is much better
Malzi please turn on your compass view (located in main parameters, then ground vehicle settings, above color scheme thermal sight) would allow you to see the air alerts (plane indication from other players)
Use the lower pen round for main then take like 5 of the higher pen. The overpressure is worth the lower pen.
If you play a lineup of CAS bait like this, it’s worth it for your mental health to have a lineup purely made of SPAAs to swap to. I recommend Falcon + Marksman + ZA35.
If I ever get E-100 or Maus it is just gonna be a test drive tank

No. With other vehicles you use the standard practice of moving after every kill from cover to cover, so you rarely die to CAS. That's not really an option in the Maus.

The pens where it barely damages a tank with the 88mm sabot is the reason ill never use it. 128mm full calibre overpressure is better in every way I dont care about the less pen. It is the worse round.
