I got this game (my first Shantae game) the other day. Needless to say, this soundtrack is an absolute banger. I was vibing alongside Shantae Helltaker-style for a solid five minutes listening to this. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the OST ingame.
That double snare hit at the end of some of the measures/phrases changes the tonal shift and direction of the melody so much. You expect it to just end traditionally, but it throws you.
After years of playing Pirates Curse on and off and just having a great time, I've started playing the other games. It quickly dawned on me that I've already played the best this series has to offer, especially in regards to art and soundtrack
yeah, it's a double-edged sword. This game is legitimately fantastic but also unless they dramatically shake the game up they're always gonna be somewhat tied to the belly dancing magic and whatnot which is not going to lend itself to the great movement this particular game offers. Seven Sirens is trying and maybe whatever they do next will prove me wrong, but i'm admittedly not holding my breath. Also Kaufman wasn't brought on for Seven Sirens but i'm reaaaaally hoping that was just a poor timing thing rather than him moving away from WF contracts.
This is one of the best songs of all of Shantae. Sad it's in no other game, but here's hoping it returns one day! Gonna make a few Shantae animations on my channel, hoping their team come across them some day!
Its amazing this game has such a great soundtrack all around when half genie and seven sirens music was so...meh. haven't played then first two so can't vouch there.
@@PillowWillow007 i have...and absolutely hate it. the choice to make everything sound midi and techno-esque instead of actual instruments was terrible/ more power to you if you liked it though. a couple of tunes were catchy but that doesn't make them good. again the choice not to use real instruments really hurt it. least it matched the mediocrity of the rest of the game lol
@@maxisenberg9093 I actually like some of Seven Siren's OSTs especially the Sunken Shipyard and the Coral Mines. Maybe we just have different tastes in music but it wasn't that bad tbh. Didn't notice the lack of instruments one bit. Half Genie Hero as well had a ton of bangers especially with Mermaid Falls and Hypno Barons Castle. Infact Mermaid Falls if you listen closely looks like something taken straight out of a 2D Sonic game or something.
@@PillowWillow007 I've played Shantae and the Seven Sirens and personally I didn't see a problem with Seven Siren's soundtrack. It gets better as the game progresses imo.
@@toonzelda3353 more power to you if you liked it. I'm personally jot a fan of electronic/synth, etc. Half genie wad only ok because it had a bit of traditional elements too. But sirens was the only one not done by Jake Kauffman so that says a lot. I absolutely love sonic but i didn't get that vibe in the slightest
That bass though!

Did you get it free with Xbox live gold too?
@@jamesbell2329 i'm here because live gold gave me this game. now shantae and the pirate's curse is one of my favorite games
@@jamesbell2329 Yup. I got it for free with Xbox Gold. Now I plan on playing all the other Shantae games. It's such an underrated video game.
@@snost5472 same here. I eventually got pirate's curse and I don't regret it one bit. super fun game.
@@nuclearfist420 it’s an underrated series in general

There are a lot of songs that make me feel like dancing, but this one actually gets me off my butt and makes me dance

Best theme in the game!
That Neo Geo bass is glorious!
1:10 ah... Yes

Pero que chucha
Best part
I can hear Shantae using the charge attack when I listen to this.

If Shantae gets in Smash, this must be one of the songs that come with her
*monkey paw curls finger*
Well well well, now this aged like fine wine
we can always hope for the next game, i do love how sakurai considered shantae good enough to be in smash, one way or the other
@@lottiye with her own song, only Sans has that

this absolutely slaps
For a song in the first/second stage of this game, this is really a banger!
Just started to re-compose this
Definitely one of my favorites in this game.
This melody has been in my head for months and it took me so long to find this because I didn't know the name 😭😭

1:03 Ascended moment
Dance party in Oil Ocean Zone.
imagine shantae mixed with gungeon. oh god...
1:10 sounds so much like shovel knight
Its the same composer
This sounds awfully good... can't even wait to buy the game hahahaha
Did you buy it?

why does every shantae stage theme sound like an rpg battle theme like this would be the beach area battle
for shantae, every dance is a battle (and vice versa)
MIDDLE EAST MUSIC IS SOMETHING ELSE.
Belleza
Incredible
Shout out MVG for the Switch and Wii versions!

It's common that you'll like Seven Sirens' soundtrack a whole lot more once you've played the game itself.
