Despite the killer animations, the only thing I didn't love about this moment was how much of it was spent standing around. You get a banger of a track, the rush, and some obstacles completely halt your momentum because they're impossible to bypass if you rush through. Putting the difficulty aside, this could have had a similar focus on speed and platforming as something like running hell from cavestory from start to finish.
A possible solution: adjust the map to where you only run left to right, and have a death wall following behind you. Maybe a GIANT hoard of zombies. Every stop in the obstacle course would have you PANICKING, and also you'd be able to appreciate the idle animation. Also, Shantae's panicked look would add to the anxiety.

I love how fragile Rottytops seems to be and the fact you must protecc her when she's already dead and Shantae on the losing end is just gold.
This is a reminder that the entirety of the Run Run Rottytops level can be summarized by Shantae bridal carrying Rotty all the way home.
