Tip for people buying this. Never buy the console + sd card This dude got lucky but they usually upload bad roms or use a bad sd card. Always buy the sd card yourself and then upload the games
As of now afaik there is no 16:9 aspect ratio Anbernic XX device. Granted it wouldn't make much sense given the SOCs limited power. At the moment the most budget 16:9 handheld that plays PSP reliably is arguably the RP3+/RP4. A Trimui Smart Pro 2 with a more powerful SOC (e.g. Helio G99) under 100 USD would be great. Also in my experience the TSP perfroms PSP slightly better than the H700 and even RK3566 devices given the Vulkan backend. Also there are reports that the latest Stock OS performs a little bit better than Crossmix.

You could argue that they could have spent that money for more features, but then people would complain about build quality. The inverse is also true. Trimui is aiming clearly for the first one. Now, I would concede your point if it wasn't for two things: 1. It is still delivering for the price. 2. I have worked in electronica manufacturing, believe me when I say that it is not as easy to ensure you get all the hardware you desired during the design phase. A clear evidence is that obvious plug under the device that is covering something that was supposed to be either a new port or an extra microsd slot. More than anything, I do not concede completely the point because it is STILL delivering for the price, they just invested in industrial design.

I'd personally pick the TrimUI Smart Pro as it has more charm and the PSP emulation is now great. My only downside is the sticks feel a bit restricted but I'm fine with that. If I had the opportunity to buy a Vita I would as I think they're amazing systems and hold more value to me being a part of the traditional handheld console generations. But currently retro handhelds and the Vita serve two totally different needs as Vita gives you access to a library most retro handhelds can't support yet, but the retro handhelds give you so many other generations.

I was disappointed in my trimUI. It doesn’t play Dreamcast games well at all IMO. You have to have framskip on to play them and that’s a no go for me.

the 256gb version is $90 on aliexpress and $140 on amazon, 50 dollars difference...

really like the device, but it is a bit too heavy for me and I get sore wrists afer a while.
I've not really noticed the weight to be fair. If your wrists get aches I'd definitely avoid vertical handhelds
