Miss this era of Yu-Gi-Oh. Never played competitively, byt I wanted to. Occasionally I'd pick up a Beckett Collector magazine and read about the tournament reports in them, one had Adam Corn's win and it seemed so cool to me. Soany familiar cards from the time too. Trooper format seems pretty fun due to the diversity of decks. Maybe I'll give some of them a try, especially the Perfect Circle monarch deck. Love how that one looks. This was the year I actually got my first set of the Egyptian God Cards and My first Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon too. Worked for my dad's home improvement company to save the money up for them, then he helped order them from Collector's Cache right before I went to summer camp. A week later I got back home and dashed upstairs to see the cards in top loaders laid out on my bed. Immediately grabbed the Blue-Eyes Ultimate and rode around the neighborhood on my bike with the card facing forward. Finally had the card and could start work on my Blue-Eyes deck, which I had worked on for 2 years before It actually won a duel. Christmas of 08 I got Ultimate Edition 2 which had Dragon Master Knight which got added to the deck. After I got the deck winning I tested it endlessly to make sure t wasn't a fluke. Went undefeated against my friends for 6 months. (We were all casual scrubs but it was fun to finally have the deck of my dreams) Thanks for reading my child-like ramblings. Lol
I wouldn't say it was broken, I mean looking at SJC results it got 2nd at a couple at best aside from Air Blade. Combo decks always have the tendency to be bricky, but powerful if pulled off correctly.

@@JanjoZone DDT and Troop Dupe are both looking pretty fun, not gonna lie. Might coin toss or just go with both.

@@JanjoZone ah okay sorry that time is a bit of blur all I remember was running jank and LADD being like one my first real decks I played
@@BsKHacker no worries, both formats are fairly similar!
The 13 gauge guy was banned for cheating. Came out that he was stacking Treeborn frog.
Yikes
Looking at this deck back in the day I thought he had to be cheating,

It's a great era in regards to having a lot of awesome cards to pick from!
Love the history videos.
Glad you love em!
"St. Lois" lol
Troop Dupe Scoop!
Woop woop!
we could just bring a gun to the tournament to force the opponent to take the match loss?
You'd probably take a tourney loss yourself haha
Has eradication epidemic virus ever been meta?
Quite a lot actually! Biggest point was in 2013 and even as recent as this year (2022!)
i almost 2-0 john moore in the feature match. lost because snipe hunter missed.
Scooping on Victory Dragon really is bad manners, I hope local OCG judges did give match losses for it as people have sometimes said lol
I hope so! Haha
Lol playing victory dragon is bad manners because the effect is uncompetitive
I didn’t play during 2007, but every time I see a DDT list, I fail to see how it was broken at the time, to me it looks like a bricky mess.
