Traces of Prehistory in Central Holland

In one square mile in the center of Holland, you will find many prehistoric traces. Near the village of Elst, on Plantation Willem III. Here is a beautiful meltwater valley, a relic of the ice age. At the top of the valley are several burial mounds from the Bronze Age.
We explore the valley that now has a steppe-like appearance and is home to deer, konik horses and foxes, among others. In the first half of the twentieth century there was a thriving tobacco culture. Plantation Willem III was a tobacco plantation. Be transported to old times in current images.
